This was actually the last playoff game ever at Candlestick Park. RIP to one of the greatest stadiums ever.
A whole lot better the Levi
It was said actually that it was one of the worst stadiums and it was a dump but to be honest I wouldn't change it for the world and even though the new stadium this one of the most advanced technology stadiums of today I would still pay for candlestick Park...
As of 49er fan I wish they still played in San Francisco and San Francisco owners wanted to stay in San Francisco but the city officials didn't want to help pay for the new stadium
@@achilles9448 I went there many times as a kid and it was perfect to me. Prefer those stadiums over primped up domes, it feels like real football.
@@deiradinn cope, they should call themselves the Santa Clara 49erd
What a game this was to watch. Can't believe it's been almost 10 years
Can’t believe Randy played up until 10 years ago like GOD DAYUM
Seem like yesterday
That is crazy! In my mind, that group should've had more time together, but the reality is that by 2015 that group of LBs and DL would've been pretty old. Crazy how short is the window of for an NFL team...
Fun fact: During the beginning of this game, the Mile High Miracle was still being played. The game went into 2OT and didn’t end for another solid 15 minutes after kickoff.
Whoa 🤯! So there were 2 good games going on! With 2 SB teams making things interesting
@@pantherteen1997 Yeah pretty cool if you ask me. If you go on the full FOX broadcast they do a game break showing the conclusion of the game. I just find it really weird that there was a game break during a playoff game 😂😂

49ers vs Packers is an underrated playoff rivalry imo.
Packers vs any NFC West team is a good game.
Packers won in 1995, 1996, 1997, 2001 and the Niners in 1998, 2012, 2013, 2019. First team to 5 wins😂
@@tonypreston7278 Rice still fumbled in '98 though
How is it underrated? Lol It’s one of the best rivalries from the 90’s
@@tonypreston7278 If you could change one super bowl outcome. Which one would you change?
Couple Fun Facts:
Jim Harbaugh is 4-0 vs Green Bay in his career.
The 49ers and Packers played on opening day AND in the playoffs in 2012 and 2013. All 4 of those games were won by the 49ers.
The last 4 times the 49ers made the playoffs (not including this year) they at least made it to the NFC Championship Game.
Edit: Since this post the 49ers have beaten the Packers two more times in the playoffs!!
people sleep on them all the time and they always go deep because of it. (cowboys just did so), much like the 2019 titans. everybody looked past them apart from the chiefs and they made it deep because of it. its any given sunday for a reason. 🤷🏽♂️
Make that the last 5 times the niners have made it the NFC Champ Game!!! And 4-0 against the Pack in the last 4 meetings in the playoffs.
@@lildog6503 LETS GOOO!!
@@ThePhoenix1 as a pats fan, we never looked passed the titans, we just sucked ass that season, we lost to dolphins for crying out loud in our own turf, which was a sign
They also faced the Seahawks opening day in 2014 and lost. Then went on to lose to them in the playoffs to end their season. So 3 years in a row they repeated that weird little feat.
Since the 9ers are traveling to Green Bay this weekend, they should’ve posted the 2013 Wild Card game. But both games were great
That or 2012 opener at Lambeau. That was a great game.
Dude 49ers and Packers always have a rivalry in the playoffs. 90s games were on another level.
@@Robxlovesmusic they’ve done the opener in 2012 and 13. They still haven’t done the 13-14 WC that’s it
Should have done the 2013 wildcard
I remember in that 2013 WC game on the final drive Kaep nearly getting picked, but he didn't and SF walked off with the win on a FG
From 2010-2016, I remember alot of great NFC playoff games between Seattle, Green Bay, San Fran, and Atlanta. Those 4 teams specifically.
Don’t forget the Saints
Panthers too
Carolina as well
That's because we were THE literal NFL at that time. Seattle always had great playoff games.
"Alot" ...2 words - A Lot
Crazy how fast Kap was. He was probably the fastest man on that field that night.
That TD run was just pure speed. It felt like all those packer players had glue on their cleats and CK had a “Grease Lightning” cheat code.
No doubt about it! I think a lot of people failed to realize (at the time) just how fast he was because of how big he was. That long frame of his made it seem as though he wasn't moving as fast as he actually was. But then you'd see him blowing by defenders like they were standing still... He was FAST!
He’s faster in a straight line than Lamar Jackson
Ted Ginn and Randy Miss were on that field that night

It's crazy to think the read option was a relatively new concept back when this game was played, but Kaepernick and the 49ers absolutely destroyed teams left and right with it. I don't think I've ever seen a defense so collectively lost during a playoff game. Green Bay just had no answers for that rushing attack. If Kaepernick wasn't running laps around them, Frank Gore was pounding them up the gut. Hard to beat that.
Read option has been around in football since about 1941
Lamichael james also.
@@KamuiCagebut NFL teams weren’t using it like the niners did this year. Kaepernick ran this offense at Nevada
Chris Ault is who to thank for this game. Nevada legend 🐺
The NFC Championship game in 2012 really should have been Seattle @ San Francisco. That would’ve been another all time classic game.
Yeah but Falcons were loaded too.
Russell Wilson set the rookie playoff passing record and let a 20 point comeback but the LOB gave up 41 yards in 23 seconds and Pete Carroll called timeout when the Falcons missed the GW FG
i mean, the Falcons game was pretty good too
Damn I forgot Randy Moss played this much into the 2010’s that’s crazy.
Tbf it was basically just this year. He didn't play the year before and bounced around the year before that
The best part about this game is that I was there to witness this win at Candlestick Park. I am truly glad I got to see a game in that legendary stadium before our team moved. It was awesome going crazy with excitement when big plays or scores happened. The roar of the crowd was something else. Truly incredible.
Too bad they couldn't get a stadium done in San Francisco
City and county of San Francisco and Oakland refused to help pay for the stadium of the 49ers and Raiders.
The two only homegrown Bay Area franchises (aside from the Sharks)
Warriors, As, Giants are from New York and Philadelphia.
The city officials who made that call should be booted out of their jobs not these historic teams.
2023 anyone?
Who's got it better than us????
What a very good run we had that 2012 year with all the talent and defense, still hurts not to win it all in the end. The Purdy run reminds me of the kaepeenick Era he had us on a roll !!!!

Kap was amazing
It's so weird that Randy Moss was on this 9ers team
the 49ers had Crabtree, Mario Manningham (who was on IR), Randy Moss and 1st round bust AJ Jenkins for their wide receivers

I've had the opportunity to see such amazing players growing up. I was able to see so many of the greats play at candlestick. I got to sit with the wives of the Dallas Cowboys during the miracle catch or better known as The Catch, described by announcers with Dwight Clark. I've seen disappointing losses as well as big wins against Dallas and Green Bay. I've seen Terrell Owens make an amazing catch and break down in the coaches arms. Some of my favorite players in the old days Freddie Solomon Rodger Craig Dwight Clark Wendell Tyler a man who would take his time and have a conversation with you... Ray Wersching gave me a handshake and a hug.. Bill Walsh, when I was a young kid, signed my book as well as coach Seifert. My biggest most successful player signatures was Joe Montana and Steve Young with Bill Walsh! Freddie Solomon thank you for your kind hearted words on my postcard and Rodger Craig but a gentleman. Last but not least Eddie DeBartolo Jr once-in-a-lifetime scribble I know you were in a hurry and can please please understand. Thank you to the 49ers security staff for making this happen for me as a young kid!!
I'm speechless to this day and yes I still hold all of the original signatures. I wish I had Jersey Dwight Clark Dwight Clark in the catch due to my struggles with leukemia I miss his restaurant in Redwood City I miss my parents roller skating rink in Redwood City but most of all I miss the man who helped me battle through leukemia and why I'm still here today God bless Dwight Clark and his family
Why the hell are these coming back up on UA-cam lol
Great to see all the hits with no penalties like todays game.
Man, what a great game. What a historic night for the Niners. Kap has one of those long strides that you cannot keep up with.
That read option Kap did for a touchdown was so smooth. He was holding down the turbo button
This niners defense was vicious
I was just thinking about what follows the next week is the Falcons collapse that no one ever talks about anymore.
Man I miss this era of football so much, early 2010s were goated until no one was left to rival Brady’s pats
Back when all u had to do was call a read option and the defense had no clue what to do
Holy crap i completely forgot Randy moss played for the 49ers
Anybody else totally forget Randy Moss was on this Niners team?? 😱🤯
This is one of the first games I vividly remember watching.
We can all say Rodgers is 0-3 against 49ers but you have to admit 49ers are always loaded. Pass rush, Linebackers, elite throwing and running the ball, and solid hitting safeties.
Except our corners this year? What about them? And the Packers are loaded this year also
Rodgers had Jennings, Jordy, Finley, Cobb and the best offensive line in the NFL and still managed to only put up 17 points (non-garbage-time) in this game.
@@MichaelMurphy-kj3xf Gabrage time is a piss poor excuse to ignore stats because they happend late. The only difference between garbage time and a close game is the defense doing their job.

Kap forever one of my favorites.
I don’t know what was better; the Smith brothers d-line, or the Bowman willis linebackers sheesh

Well before Rodgers it was actually great
One of the greatest scrambling QBs in NFL history. Sadly as a Falcons fan he might be even over Vick, I don't like to be bias.
No way Vick was otherworldly
It’s 2022 49ers fans…don’t let this game fool you.
Rodgers now 0-4 vs my Niners when counts most
Rushing yards record set by Colin Kaepernick still holds till this day! Not likely to be broken
I think it will at some point. Fields got within 4 yards this season. However it means something he did it 10 years ago when teams were still skeptical about dual threat QBs.
Crabtree Kaepernick's favorite receiver! Dam as a 9er Fan he shouldn't throw it to him in the NFCCG against Seattle
Colin K was fantastic in this game. I have no idea why he is not in the NFL today at least as a back up.
That pick-6 on Kaepernick's first possession was a worrisome prelude of his downhill trajectory in subsequent seasons. Frustrating mistakes like that would become more frequent, despite his tremendous potential and all the offensive weapons at his disposal. He could be brilliant during one down and incompetent, the next. It was always a roll of a roulette wheel with Kaepernick. Alex Smith was more consistent, at least, albeit not as flashy.
Remember that game, a day before my 10th birthday and it served as a really nice birthday gift
Kaepernick took a knee to end the game and thought: "You know, I should find more opportunities to do this than just at the end of a game. I wonder how it would work before a game."
lol...

Woodson, Hayward, Sheilds, Williams, what a stacked cb room
Then Kaepernick was fast but declined terribly when Harbaugh left....then he became Raheem Kaepernick Shabazz.

Bullshit. Goddamn. He wasn't even the backup, when he started his little bullshit crusade, just a flash in the pan, like many before him. If he was that good, hof caliber, they'd have had him on a team. The 49s wanted to keep him, he wanted to be the starter. He did that to himself. Funny, a Black QB, raised by rich as fuck white parents, complaining about a privilege, tf. How fucking dare you compare him to Ali, that's insulting,🤡
@@heatherphillips5983 & so?? Some White folks stood up against racism as well. Do they understand? No but they still stood by our side.

Kap still has to be good, Panthers gave Cam another chance so Kap has to have a chance.
Jon Bois did a REALLY good video about how much better Kaepernick was compared to a lot of starting QBs the year after he was forced out of the league. The narrative that some people made that he wasn't good enough to play in the league anymore is so far from the truth, it's infuriating.
Facts, always got love for Kap he was so fun to watch in his prime
I actually thought LaMichael James would be a decent force in the NFL. He was so dominant in College at Organ for the Ducks. Drafted in 2012 back in a time when RB’s were still taken high in drafts. He was selected in the 2nd round pick #61. James only played from 2012 - 2015
He suited up for the 49ers and finishing his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins.
James ended his NFL career with
