Im wishing and hoping for the release of CARDIACS-”Rare and unreleased” triple Lp, OR Volume 1 & 2 double Lp’s… Oh what a glorious day that would be. This is a hidden gem that needs to be un-hidden
This song was written by Jon Poole and was performed in the run-up to the release of the Guns album, as far back as 1999. It was supposed to be on the 2002 album, which 'got broken' and never came out (there are rumours that a lot of recordings for that album were accidentally erased). Jon's band The God Damn Whores have since demoed the song and given copies away at GDW gigs (I know 'cos I got one). The lack of a Cardiacs studio version frustrates me 'cos it's my favouritest Cardiacs song!
@Monkeyhead75 AFAIK it's a song they never officially released although I'm sure I've heard the studio version of it somewhere. I think it dates from the early 00's and is aka 'Sparkly Silvery Sky'.
The new GDW album (“Heya Heya Heya Heya Ho!”) was released the other week through the Pledge website. Sparkly Silver Sky is on it. I'm not sure if it's the same as the demos that were given out or if it's rerecorded. His solo record was released at the same time. You can download both of them for £8 or a bit more if you want CDs.
Jon Poole is going to be releasing a new solo record and also a GDW record sometime over the next few months. I'm sure some form of this song is supposed to be on one of the releases.
@w1521 Thanks for the info, didn't know all that. So they had an album that may have got accidently erased? Bloody hell, how much misfortune can one band have?
This gets better and better every time I play it. What a song!

This is above human possibilities. It's an event, not a song.
Ahh yes, I've seen this done live a few times but never knew what it was. Thanks! love it

Fan fan and it's fanny.you are jesus I am jesus.
the solo gives me pink floyd syd-era vibes. might be the half-step down
What's the demo like in comparison to the finished version on Jon's album?
His solo record is the bollocks aswell! Big Numan and PiL vibes from it.
