Gonna be a lot of angry parents with these. Having flash backs of getting Ghostbusters slime in the carpet.
@Jonathan Heiss Mattel would actually replace carpet if people complained. Not sure how Kenner or the other companies dealt with it.

Me and my sons had a blast opening them! The mess was part of the fun! Just do it away from the collection lol
People are complaining about the Mini-Puffs, because they are too cute. But they forget that the original giant Stay Pufft Marshmellow-Man from the first Ghostbusters-Movie and The Real Ghostbusters-Cartoon is just adorable. Seriously he is just a cute giant monster.
When I got some and I opened them, I found it helpful to just cut the bag with the Mini Puft in it while it was in the container so I could minimize how much of the marshmallow slime I touched. Also, I had a bowl and paper towel nearby so yea that seemed to help.
Yeah that's what I'm planning to do when I get them, it would also be better if the actual goo was inside a bag and the figure on another, still messy but less efford to get the figure.
Just imagine how the guys felt when they blasted Stay Puft!

I'm glad you were honest about the marshmallow slime -- that stuff suuuuuucks. My five year-old daughter took a handful of it as we were opening the mini puft and ran throughout the house with it. It got everywhere, and it's a nightmare to clean up.

The white marshmallow substance was supposed to be a non-sticky slime but because it was at a warehouse for a year it's begun to break down and now it's sticky and gooey like real marshmallow. Can't wait for people to do on boxing of these in twenty years

The slime is intended for kids. Kids will love it. It will be a parent's nightmare though.

At the end of the day, it's the parent's job to make sure their kid doesn't eat it. And parents today don't wanna do their job. But the company is just covering their own ass by putting that disclaimer on there. Because even though parents don't want to do their job, by actually parenting, they are litigious as hell. Suddenly their child's well-being is a top priority to them once they see dollar $igns.
Some adults would try to eat it as well on tik tok 😆

The can says its not edible but it would still have to be non-toxic to pass safety standards for a toy. My worry would be that a kid would choke on a glob of that unless its ultra-water soluable and saliva will "melt" it quickly.

I found that mixing and mashing the slime in my hands for about 10 minutes mixed the spoiled slime back together and now it’s a perfect fluffy marshmallow consistency hope you saved some because it’s worth it
Well at least the marshmallow "slime" is not colored. A big pain in the butt about the GB slime canisters was the green/purple of the slime would sometimes stain stuff. I normally don't go in much for collecting little figures, but man those mini puffs are so cute in a Gremlins kind of way.

I highly doubt one year in a sealed container would turn it into that. If anything, it would dry up, and become less sticky.

freezer would probably solve the problem by slowing it way down.
That's an incredible idea! When I get my next wave of Mini-Pufts, will give that a try!
I can now confirm that freezing does work! I got one today and froze it for about an hour. The "fluff" turns into a rubber type of stuff that you can pull out with a pair of longnose pliers and just peel away from the plastic bag inside. Then I just tossed out the frozen fluff and I have a nice little tub as well as the figure with no mess.

It literally looks like melted marshmallow. I'm guessing that's the intent. It's literally a concept in toy design called "messy play". And it's why slime, playdough, silly putty, finger painting, sandbox/sand tables...
Kids enjoy playing with their senses, and parents can use it as a teaching tool for cleaning up. The easiest answer for parents on how to keep this clean would be to put a disposable tablecloth down and then after the play when they go wash their hands you just ball up the tablecloth and toss it (just make sure no minis are still on the table or they'll get tossed too which is a common occurence)
I ordered 6 of these. I love the mini stay puft figures. I love the container it comes in. But the "slime" feels like a prank on consumers. Slime and Ghostbusters are synonymous. But this isn't slime. This is an extremely sticky, foul smelling, messy glue that STAINS fabric and takes a lot of scrubbing to clean. I don't know who thought this would be a good idea. If it was a marshmallow scented "slime" with a foam consistency that would be great. Or the cheap generic slime that you can just roll into a ball. But this stuff ruins the containers. I don't want this junk in my drains either. It's awful. This is going to cause a nightmare for parents purchasing this for their kids. But mostly 30-40 something year old man-children are buying this to display in their adult toy collection.

Actually i think this was intentional, because that's what playing with actual marshmallow fluff would be like.
The white goo does look like melted marshmallow, and the fact that it gets stringy like melted marshmallow was likely the intent. Still, I probably wouldn't want to buy that for a kid, or at least warn them that it is definitely NOT edible stuff. And I would make sure that they're opened over some kind of covering like newspaper so that stuff doesn't get all over the place.
I was very surprised by the mess they made haha. And I happened to get the same figures out of the two I bought.

I have the melted one and the pencil one, but they came in opaque blue bags instead of a canister of marshmallow goo... Kinda glad about that if I'm honest.

Actualy fun fact indonesia has these in toy stores! But its in blind bags! So there its not messy (theres no slime just the figure)
Just opened one yesterday and what you said actually makes sense... I couldn't believe what I was witnessing... They really need to stop with this slime and compound crap in toys it's horrible.
We had found the tubes of slime at a dollar tree probably a year ago and it was super slimy when we opened them initially but I came across them a few days ago and upon opening it it had liquefied and spilt all over me. It was putrid to say the least.
Even as a kid I would've hated that "marshmallow" stuff. Messy things can be fun when you're a kid but that really doesn't look like it is. I would've just washed my hands straight away. No fun at all. Hopefully when they're released in the UK (if they haven't already?) we'll get the version without the marshmallow gunk.

I just bought some of this stuff, didn't know what I was getting into. I thought it would be like Ecto-Plazm. What made it really messy to deal with was the bag, if the figure had just been in the slime like old school it would have been much easier to deal with. Obviously they had to do that because of the paint deco, but... I ended up playing with the slime for a while and I appreciate what they were going for, it really looks and feels like marshmallow. It gets a firm consistency if you keep kneading it, and goes right back to sticky goop if you put it in the can.
I have opened 4 of mini puft cups and i got 2 melted minis and the drumer one and the one with the pencil
Hey Jason, on the Canadian/international bags, there's a number on the back on the top left corner, I think that might be the indicator of which one it is for that packaging; I got two blind from Amazon and both had the number 1 and they were both the Mini-Puft tied to the rocket.
I think the marshmallow slime stuff was intended to look like that, not to create a mess but because it looks exactly like melted marshmallows, have you guys ever had a s’more, because that’s what your hands look like after a s’more

I think out of the USA the marshmellow goop is not allowed because of child protection rules. Nice idea, but make it really edible next time.

Its realistic, if you see how bad the slime is in the movie, this mimics better than if they made it less messy 🤷♂️

Best of stinks so much I found out that if you quickly tap your fingers together and then get a little glob of it together and use that to tamp down on other slime it builds up together and comes off everything but that stuff was really nasty

Honestly, the Marshmallow “slime” actually looks like melted Marshmallow. Maybe it was intended to stick to your fingers like that. Who knows? As a ghostbusters collector, I say it’s worth buying an unopened Mini Puft marshmallow can.

I wish I knew about this before I bought mine.
I got it while picking up Podcast and Lucky who I needed to complete the Afterlife Plasma Series (no Phoebe?)
And I got everything home, got Podcast and Lucky out of box, built the underwhelming sentinel terror dog, and then went for this container.
I popped off the cap, said "oh crap" and sealed it back up. I had no idea there would be "melted marshmallow" in the way of the mystery bag.
So thanks to your video, I now know that I can't just pull the figure out. It's in a bag.
It took 45 min to mostly clean it up.
It's a year later.
The label is removable.
And I have the Puft on a Rocket, which I know because it's N04.
I imagine I can't just wash this crap down the drain either. So I kinda wish I didn't buy it and have no idea what to do with it...

Yes I purchased two of those but the chemical in the goo was sooo nasty that I could Not keep it, it was just far to Toxic for my home so I had to throw those out emmediatly !!!

I found out that if you put them in the refrigerator for about an hour, it's not gooey anymore.

I just saw Ghostbusters Afterlife Saturday and I got a mini stay puft from Target today!! Your numbers were right and it helped me get the one I wanted!! Thank you so much! Now I kind of want to get another one haha! It was messy but once you learn how to get it off and get it into a ball of slime. It’s really not that bad. I loved all of it lol!!
