  • You don't need anything more complicated for fishing a grasshopper. This is a quick and extremely easy pattern that everyone can tie. Just change the colour and size you need to match the hatch. Tied in all black it also makes a excellent cricket imitation.

      The feather bender Question: I’m more familiar with fly tying than I am the actual fishing side of the sport (working on it) what line would you recommend for casting such a fly?

    Nice pattern Barry and I know it’s just me, but I always like natural materials. I haven’t tried anything with foam as I never feel inclined but a great tie nonetheless. Thanks for the upload dude.

    Just tried one Barry, the UV resin on the partridge feather was a bit fiddly, looks good though (yours is a wee bit better).
    Please keep them coming, they are a pleasant distraction.

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  4 роки тому

      Chris, If you use a block with post it stickers and apply a drop of UV resin on the top post it sticker. Then drag your feather through it so you coat both sides. Once both sides are coated place the feather flat, under the top post it and the second post it with the stem sticking out of the side of the post it block, now press gently down on the top post it and pull the feather out. It will have a fine coat on each side, and cure! Easy!

    Nice multi-species, utilitarian pattern. Have you tried silicone caulking on the partridge hackle. I find they stay, "rubbery," which I like.
