Yes. It was transformative. I was a normal, 19 year old boy. Then the Dreamcast blew my brains out and I became Sega Boy, a hero for all Sega products.
My sister is coming to visit me from Mexico and she got me a Dreamcast from a local retro store! Amazing collection to the swan song of Sega!!! I'm so excited!
For a console that did not last long, there is quite a few titles...I still think it was a sweet piece of hardware in a remarkably small form factor...one of my favorites.. cheers.
As a 15 yr old I had a dreamcast on lay-by. Had to cancel it finally got one last year (17yrs later) but man I have so many memories of the dreamcast. Such a awesome console.
John, I really want to expand my Dreamcast game collection. Quick story, I was deployed in 2003 , while deployed we had a Dreamcast in our tent and the only game we had was NFL 2K1. Awesome downtime tournaments with that console.
Thumbs up John! Started my complete DC collection adventure series a few months ago. Got most of the heavy hitters out the way...I truly understand what you say about how completing collections can be "fun!"
Remeber early 2000 My brother bought a Dreamcast Crazy taxi , Power Stone, street fighter 3strike , capcom vs marvell 2 controllers and we had maaany hours of fun. Then i ended up with around 200 games Still play it every winter
Congrats on the complete Sega Dreamcast collection John! That is still one system I would love to have. Hopefully sometime I will pick one up. I always enjoyed playing on my friend's Dreamcast years ago. Good times!
When you revealed the collection it was a huge wow moment! They look amazing all together. Also Demolition Racer was really good on PC, well worth checking out.
Love the Dreamcast ortho I prefer the PAL cases in the double thick blue edging, even tho there prone to braking easy. Hope to have a full set one day! 👍🏻
I'm a Sega guy also. I have the Master System, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast consoles. Power Stone 2 is my favorite Dreamcast game I bought it on release day back in 2000.
The first (and only) console I stood in line for. 9/9/99 (or 9/9/99 for our European friends) was a fantastic day for me! I think I have the OG Crazy Taxi (with a receipt from the Michigan game store it came from inside) if you are actually in need of it to feel complete, John. I only collect stuff I play and I play Crazy Taxi on Xbox primarily now, so you're welcome to it!
A SEGA Dreamcast is on my wishlist for years now. Never had one, played by a friend with this system and loved it. This console never whas a big hit over here in The Netherlands, everybody whas in that time on the PS2 and the OG Xbox. Great and impressive collection :)
Kudos. It's games imo have all but been superseded or bettered today, but I owned one back in the day and was a strong supporter of it. A great system.
Amazing!!! I'm trying to build my library now for Dreamcast, North American and Japan. I pull out Ecco and play that to reminisce getting the Dream Cast for Christmas.
That's awesome that you have a complete collection! I'm still buying games for the Dreamcast! You know, I regret not buying Canon Spike back in the day because now that game cost so much more. I remember reading about that game in a magazine and thinking, "Wow, you can be Cammy and Mega Man in the same game?" I had to have that game. I saw it for $50 at the store, and for whatever reason, I kept forgetting to buy that game :/ LOL
If there is one Japaneses import for Dreamcast that I strongly recommend, its Bomber Hehhe. i guarantee you will have a BLAST playing that game. Its literally a building demolition simulator. It was supposed to release in North America but it was canceled and banned from releasing over here due to 9/11. Nonetheless, it is a very fun game with cool physics.
I am a very active collector and the stickers drive me crazy. I actually spent an entire weekend just doing nothing but cleaning off stickers. Then the next weekend cleaning all the sharpie writing and the consoles.
Awesome collection! Dreamcast is a great time capsule. I remember when it came out, and how it went down I saw it on sale for 29.99 after it died on radio shack back in the day.
My dreamcast collection is about the size of just one of those rows haha.. They may have been rare in the US.. but in Australia they were almost non existent!
Top collection, I had a full Pal set not long ago but I ran out of space for other games I wanted and trimmed it down to what I would play😞at least your cases aren’t as fragile as ours
i remember hearing about BLEEM back in the day.. but i never saw one in person.. back then it was like a myth.. a legend to me.. like no way you can play playstation on dreamcast..
I loved my Dreamcast, I had a lot of fun with the many light gun games on the system, 'Sega Bass Fishing' with the rod, the arcade style games, racing games and of course Shenmue 1&2. It's lifespan really does fall under 'short but sweet'. When it was discontinued I picked up a few more games, then ended up getting a Gamecube (probably my favourite Nintendo system) and later on an Xbox as well. Still to this day have never owned a PS2, an odd gap for me in that generation. I think my reasoning at the time was moving forward, going from Dreamcast to Gamecube to Xbox, there were obvious visual upgrades (vs what felt more of a sideways move from Dreamcast to PS2). While both the Xbox & Gamecube had to deal with third party games being somewhat restricted by the power of PS2, their exclusive games really showed what they were capable of. As for picking it up a PS2 now, I'm not really too interested. I played the multiplatform games of that gen on the other systems and the exclusives I was interested in made their way onto the PS3. That is a system I own and love, despite poor hardware longevity. People give the 360 stick, rightfully so mind you, but I've only had one broken 360, vs 2 broken PS3s (YLoD 'phat' 80GB model & a 'super slim' PS3 that couldn't even be repaired). Currently have the 160GB 'slim' PS3.
I always wanted a Dreamcast when I was young but Australia never really was super big with it. I actually forgot about for a years then I saw a video on it and decided to buy one. $250 AUD for one on its own. Didn’t realise how expensive the games are for it though
I would like to hear more about your ideas for your museum. What type of displays and what will they look like? Will there be interactive parts? Will the museum host championships? Will it be home consoles only? Will you center around a specific character or company or era? How big will the building be? I realize you don't have any concrete plans right now, I am just wondering how you see this in your wildest dreams?
Sweet collection @JohnHancock , I would've appreciated it if you shared the exact number of US releases as there are varying reports out there on the net and I trust your knowledge more than most. Keep making awesome videos!
Awesomeness. Although I believe most people like the dreamcast because it failed, not being your case of course. I believe that most of the current love for the dreamcast comes from "blood on the hands" and the same will happen with the Wii U in a near future. Great video John.
Immortal John Hancock which game was your favorite to get out of your dreamcast collection? We all have that 1 game that had a cool story to go with it. Amazing collection!!!!
Hoping to have a complete Dreamcast collection someday but the prices are insane. Might cheat and get different region versions for games like JoJo and Gunbird 2.
The Dreamcast has a lot of games for a console that lasted for 2 years seen Spider-Man for the Dreamcast I remember having when I was a kid for the PS1
i love the Dreamcast still my favorite console since i was 2yrs old need to collect more games i have the Japanese version Soul Caliber... i predict Sega brings a Dreamcast classic at E3 2019
well gamestop is mostly a store of its own even though they wont go out of business cuz there original store were they really have there stuff is in a huge gamestop warehouse cuz when u see alot of stuff on there websites then u would see in stores well part of some items will be released in stores cuz when i asked my bud at GS bout a gold edition on crew2 well he actually told me the reason why the gamestop website sells that then in stores n i told him how crazy that is.... that gold edition is not in stores but anyways whatever GS wants to put in stores n keep in a warehouse
We got a Dreamcast on day one. We didn't have enough money for a game! But there was a demo disc, and Sonic Adventure blew my brains out!
Yes. It was transformative. I was a normal, 19 year old boy. Then the Dreamcast blew my brains out and I became Sega Boy, a hero for all Sega products.
Sega Bass Fishing and Virtua Tennis was a lot of fun for me on that disc. I still have it lol
So you're missing Crazy Taxi and Tomb Raider The Last Revelation variant....almost complete. Nice to look at though.
new games still coming out...just keeps that complete collection growing :)
So many great games I still play my Dreamcast to this day
I'm a couple games away from 50%, I'm hoping I'll be looking at a full set of my own one day
My sister is coming to visit me from Mexico and she got me a Dreamcast from a local retro store! Amazing collection to the swan song of Sega!!! I'm so excited!
For a console that did not last long, there is quite a few titles...I still think it was a sweet piece of hardware in a remarkably small form factor...one of my favorites.. cheers.
Awesome collection. Nice to see.
My nieces and I found a brand new fishing controller in box so we mostly play bass and marine fishing. I mostly play starlancer and daytona.
Beautiful collection there
Really ? the complete collection , wow thats very cool !
Just brings back good memories 😎👌
Very nice John! I picked up my complete Dreamcast collection in a single Craigslist ad!
As a 15 yr old I had a dreamcast on lay-by. Had to cancel it finally got one last year (17yrs later) but man I have so many memories of the dreamcast. Such a awesome console.
I love the Dreamcast. Fishing games with the rod controller are sick
Love the Dreamcast! One of my all time favorite consoles.

it’s crazy how much nostalgia I feel just looking at all of the artwork side by side
Best system ever made
WoW!! I really enjoyed this video. It's amazing to see a complete collection laid out like that. Thank you for the great video John.
I just started working on my complete Dreamcast collection.
I have one game. So I guess you could say I'm pretty close.
Its....its beautiful
I’m about at 100 games (been collecting since 9-9-99).
John, I really want to expand my Dreamcast game collection. Quick story, I was deployed in 2003 , while deployed we had a Dreamcast in our tent and the only game we had was NFL 2K1. Awesome downtime tournaments with that console.
Larry Catoe thank you for your service!
John Hancock, Thank you. Also I’m completely dorking out right now. Love your channel!
The Dreamcast is my favorite console I own right now. Great video John! Keep up the good work.
Very good, sir.
Thumbs up John! Started my complete DC collection adventure series a few months ago. Got most of the heavy hitters out the way...I truly understand what you say about how completing collections can be "fun!"
Nice collection, John! Never got to play any games on the Dreamcast but I see why the system is still loved many years later.
Yes!!! DC is my favorite system to collect for!
I don't comment on UA-cam videos often, but just wanted to say I love your content. Your game collection is remarkable.
Love your videos man, easily one of my favorite youtubers. I love your genuine enthusiasm towards gaming and collecting. Beautiful.
Remeber early 2000

Very cool to see everything laid out together
I dont keep my price tags on my games so my wife doesn't get mad lol.
Congrats on the complete Sega Dreamcast collection John! That is still one system I would love to have. Hopefully sometime I will pick one up. I always enjoyed playing on my friend's Dreamcast years ago. Good times!

Love the Dreamcast ortho I prefer the PAL cases in the double thick blue edging, even tho there prone to braking easy.
Hope to have a full set one day! 👍🏻
Maine-ly Gaming yeah some of the cases are better but sometimes the art work is better in the states, thanks man! 👍🏻
I'm a Sega guy also. I have the Master System, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast consoles. Power Stone 2 is my favorite Dreamcast game I bought it on release day back in 2000.
There are a lot of very interasting and cool games here i am pretty sure it is very fun collecting for the Dreamcast
I "only" have 3 complete collections, but the NA Dreamcast is one of them. Love that system. Great collection!
Way to go John! You are no doubt the Immortal.
The first (and only) console I stood in line for. 9/9/99 (or 9/9/99 for our European friends) was a fantastic day for me! I would love to see another Dreamcast video, with all your consols and accessories.
Awesome collection John! Love it
Great collection John! Looks like a lot of work and $$ you really like your games
I am a very active collector and the stickers drive me crazy. I actually spent an entire weekend just doing nothing but cleaning off stickers. Then the next weekend cleaning all the sharpie writing and the consoles.
Amazing. I think the DC is giving to be the first console I try to get all releases for, at least the N/A games.
Awesome vid, I hope to have a full set myself one day.
Awesome collection! Dreamcast is a great time capsule. I remember when it came out, and how it went down I saw it on sale for 29.99 after it died on radio shack back in the day.

Very nice. I wanted to start a collection some time ago but found it to be way too expensive. It does have some great games.
Wow!! I am jelly!

Wow that's so cool. Armada, Crazy Taxi and Ready 2 Rumble were my favorite. Gunlord from NG Dev Team is worth it for Dream Cast and or NEO Geo.
Awesome collection amigo 👍🏼👍🏼
So many Awesomenessness!
Sweet collection @JohnHancock , I would've appreciated it if you shared the exact number of US releases as there are varying reports out there on the net and I trust your knowledge more than most. Keep making awesome videos!
My all time favorite dreamcast game is Panzer front, it's an import but it's a great game. Shenmue is a close second place.
A lot of these games are worth an insane amount of money, Worst thing is I had dozens myself & left them in my shed where they were ruined :(
Awesomeness. Although I believe most people like the dreamcast because it failed, not being your case of course.
I believe that most of the current love for the dreamcast comes from "blood on the hands" and the same will happen with the Wii U in a near future.
Great video John.
how many games is there for the sega dreamcast total great collection
Incredible 🤩
John, would you do a video about apps for collecting games? there are several to choose from. Maybe you can give your opinion on ones to use.
Immortal John Hancock which game was your favorite to get out of your dreamcast collection? We all have that 1 game that had a cool story to go with it. Amazing collection!!!!
Saw a lot of games I have, I just got the chip & Dale racing game.
Whooooo....look awesome! xD
I spy Illbleed. My favorite DC game to that. I must’ve rented that game 20x when I was in 15ish
Only game I own that actually creeps me out.
I want a collection just like this one hope it won’t be long 😃
Where did you get the Lightspan Adventures sets at ? And yes, I know that's not Dreamcast related.
Great Video BTW!
Hey I work at Electronic Arts in Vancouver Canada let me know next time your there I'll give you a tour
Thank you so much! I would love that!
i was thinking of getting a dreamcast for my daughter and i was just wondering what would be some good kids games john?
AWESOME! The DC is one of my favorite systems of all time! I have like 7 copies of SA:LE cuz I love the system so much. Heh. Thumbs up!
Would you recommend to play the Versions with the hot new sticker?
Hoping to have a complete Dreamcast collection someday but the prices are insane. Might cheat and get different region versions for games like JoJo and Gunbird 2.
Can you make a video for game gear if you have a complete collection?
The Dreamcast has a lot of games for a console that lasted for 2 years seen Spider-Man for the Dreamcast I remember having when I was a kid for the PS1
i love the Dreamcast still my favorite console since i was 2yrs old need to collect more games i have the Japanese version Soul Caliber... i predict Sega brings a Dreamcast classic at E3 2019
