3:22 - Of course! We wouldn't want our bees to get any splinters in their teeny tiny feet 😂 Building one of these at the moment, will let you know how I get on
bees have extremely sensitive feet, have you never heard the saying, "your as sensitive as a bees foot" Well now you know where it came from my litteln
yeah I'm planning to make a few more and scatter them around. especially since I have seen how much it is getting used, its not been up a week and their is so many little solitary bees builing their nests around it. its great to watch them.
🤣😂🤣 and that's me trying to be safty conscious do I don't give a bad example on a video... 🤣 kids! Don't hold the stuff with your feet as you drill in to it!
@@GreenthumbsGarden It'll do the kids a world of good to be brought back to reality a bit 👍"If you drill a hole in your foot, brush it off 'n' deal with it! Like in the ol' days!"😂
thats awsome! Im even suprised a little how much interested my hotel has had, right after many soliteray bees started building nests, it was not even hung up for a day. Then this last month some catipillar hunting wasps have built nests and hatched some younglings... whatever you call a baby wasp...lol. its been great
Fantastic!! I have seen them here also but not where I live currently yet. They catch many caterpillars to feed their lava. Make a cool bee hotel like this, the tubes will be idea for them to nest in, you could also drill holes in to a block of wood which would be a much simpler build. I'm going to put a post in the comunity page showing the inside of a grass carrying wasp, very interesting! my hotel has been only up for a few days and I can't believe how many little bees are nesting already, its awsome.
great question! in fact i was supose to say that in the video and compleatly forgot. Face it pointing to the rising sun, and make sure their is no obstacles in the flight path.
I like this as it's not the usual...."this is easy to make when you have a fully fitted workshop" malarkey 🙂
😅 I hate thoses.
Tbh some of the items I've cobbled together I should be in DIY prison for, but I doubt if the flora or fauna care 🙂
Great idea mate thank you for sharing.
I love this project, Thumbs Up, Shared with my son-in-law, Thank you Alex & Alice.
Hey Buttercup! thats great, I would love to see it if you make one! the hotel was only up 1 day and has got so much attention from the bees

thanks, timothy! I saw another comment from you but when I click it don't come up.
Nice job - great idea to have one or two of these around the garden.

Sitting on the ground, using a wood stump to knock down stuff, sawing on an upside-down pot, holding stuff with your feet 👍👌 Just like I do it 😁

I will soon!
Last year I got a lot of "Grass-Carrying Wasps" in my bee house. What do I have to do when I see them?

👍🇬🇧
All insects love toxic glue while they chew through the woods 👍👍
🙄 only on the joints... so far... no insects have decided to chew through the joints when there is plenty of holes available.
What direction is best to face your bee hotel?
