watching you is like watching myself doing it, even the same red gloves, cutting the excess of investing, the mixing of this two resins, etc. Keep going!

Good results! Random question but what online resource do you use for troubleshooting and getting feedback from other people? Are you a member of the ganoksin forum?

Fantastic video thank you for explaining all the stages, I'm just about to start casting and electroplating some of my 3d prints and this has helped a lot..
I've purchased a mini jewellery smelter that does 1200c + a muffler kiln (very expensive) to heat my investment molds to the same temperature as the silicone bronze I just made and melt large amounts of metal!
I was going to buy the same machine you have but I want to cast bigger things so I just had to build a vacuum chamber to hold my 5" x 8" and 4" x 8" pots..
I'm really looking forward to making my first cast but then kiln ovens need to be programmed and I find that a little frustrating but I'll get there! 🙈
It's not so much working out the program it's the 20s you get to input and save each stage, being autistic it melts my brain because I think I need 6 stages?
Heat to 400c, hold for 2hrs then move to 700c over 45min and hold for 1h then move to 1100c for 2hrs then end cycle!! Sounds simple but it's all code for those that don't know for example.
    C1 0005
    T1 0400
    T2 0045
C2 0700 etc until you're at C6 but they can go to C32!!

Congratulations!! That's awesome! Yeah it does get a little expensive but it's tons of fun! I'm excited for you! You sound like you have a good grasp on it! I hope your first cast goes without any problems! I'm glad my videos are helping others!

Always look forward to your progress. I was about to give up on siraya blu wax resin, but now I might try mixing with purple. Not sure if you are up to it, but a comparison between: BlueCast X-ONE, Monocure3D Burnaway, and the siraya mix might make for an interesting video! Also, can you show your best casts from more angles, and what it looks like after finishing?

That's a great idea for the comparison video with that resin. When I pick some up I'll share my results and compare what I find. I'll show more videos of the cast before I cut it up in the next video. I'll be sharing how I finish the pieces and set the gems in the next video. Thank you!

@@MrBeardedJeweler Any chance I can get you to cast something in brass? (Building my vacuum table and want to use custom floor mounts).

I tried purple first and it was so terrible. I use just the true blue and it's much better. It sucks thst there is no middle quality casting resin. We only have the 40 dollar siraya tech true blue cast which is near bottom quality, and then all the other casting resins are 140 dollars a bottle. Is there no middle quality one?

It has been challenging to cast with the purple. I have had a hard time with it as well. I started using Prestige Oro, then switched to Optima, and now I'm currently using R &R Plasticast. Since using Plasticast I have had the best results. It does seem like there is no middle quality castable resin at the moment, hopefully there will be some soon!

@@MrBeardedJeweler I have good news to share. So last night I tried something a little different. I used my usual R and R Plasticast but when I cured my Sirayatech Trueblue I cured the items while submerged in a glass of glycerine. I also poured my flask the night before so it sat for 8 to 10 hours before I put it in the kiln. I got perfect surface quality this time with just Sirayatech True Bue. So it's the best casting resin for the money. Don't even use purple at all. It's the same price anyways.

For casting with resin? Yes you need an oven that can reach the temps needed to burn out resin. Not all burn out ovens can reach the temps needed.

@ I get to 1450 and then cast at 700

hey, i have ordered the same kiln and casting machine, do these only run on 110v outlets or do they also work with 220v outlets

It depends on which one you get. I'm pretty sure they make one for each. They don't work with both.

You should try not mixing it but staying with your new flask and silver temps to see if thats what made the difference, i low key think so
