NASAMS - SHORAD & VSHORAD system with AMRAAM and AIM-9X. Will Romania buy it?

- Raytheon is proposing the NASAMS air defense system with the AIM-120 AMRAAM and AIM-9X missiles to fulfill Romania's requirements for Short Range Air Defense (SDHORAD) and Very Short Air Defense (VSHORAD).
As a Patriot user and an AMRAAM missile operator on it's fleet of F-16s, Romania has started working closely with Raytheon and it could see the NASAMS system being integrated with Patriot and the HAWK system it is currently using for air defense.
The Romanian MoD has already been cleared by Parliament to spend up to 2.7 bln. euros for 27 SHORAD and VSHORAD systems.
This could be a new a new high value G2G acquisition from the USA, after Romania bought 7 Patriot systems (3,9 bln. dollars), 3 HIMARS systems (1.5 bln. dollars) and 17 F-16 MLU via Portugal (aprox 1 bln. dollars).

Este un sistem bun pentru Romania ,avantajul acestui sistem este interoperabil cu radarul Patriot pe care o sa-l avem complet in cativa ani de zile,un alt avantaj fiind ca opereaza cu rachete interceptoare AIM-9x si AIM-120c care se afla in dotarea avioanelor F-16 romanesti. Sper sa-l achizitionam.
Mai e ceva. Numai in anul acesta, s-a trecut de la dotarea din anii '60 la cea de top din 2020...felicitari!

@@Maf-wv2ku inca nu, t55 urile si tr580 trebuie aruncate la fier vechi, cu tr85 neaparat o modernizare, toate tab urile in afara de b33 la fier vechi, mig urile sa le vindem la sarbi sau ceva, fortele navale modernizari peste tot si niste corvete noi

@@loyalist5736 No. The main competition for NASAMS in Romania would be MBDA's system based on VL Mica + Mistral 3 and IAI's solution based around it's Barak MX missile family.

Hungary has already ordered NASAMS systems with AIM-120C7 and AIM-120C8 missiles. The batteries will arrive in 2023 with ELM-2084 radar systems.
rachetele sant scumpe , nu este mobil , rachetele nu au lansare verticala deci se pierdere cateva secunde pt reorientare, radarul este cam vechi , prefer IRIS t slm sau MICA vl care sant dispusi sa transfere tehnologie la noi si mentenanta, nemti sant dispusi chiar sa produca la noi motorul racheta pt toate rachetele vandute nu doar noua
