This star has a history of expanding and contracting. The current view, due to the speed of light and it's distance from earth is of the star as it was about the year 1373
I always liked Betelgeuse. Every morning I stare at it and Rigel. Fascinating how massive they are. I always thought Betelgeuse was larger than Antares. Crazy to think it's small compared to Stephenson 2-18.
The dimming has been attributed to a smaller star passing in front of Betelgeuse rather than a possible super nova. The smaller star is actaully orbiting around Betelgeuse.
Question for you all, When a Supernova mass ejection hits earth's magnetosphere, the CME generates voltage that is superimposed on the electric energy grid. Can a Supernova ejection voltage can create currents on the grid that can lead to transformer failures and blackouts?
Thinking about our Sunflare, The Carrington Event of 1859 was the first documented event of a solar flare impacting Earth. The event occurred at 11:18 am EDT on Sept. 1., Now what will a Supernova do?
I wished they would just cut out the crap about the past history regarding Betelgeuse & get on explaining on what is happening now & what is expected in t,row , next month , next year & within the next 5 years
or its a dual system like most stars are double stars , and one rotates around the other , hence the cycle . Sometimes we see 2 , sometimes we see 1 , but since its so far , its a point source , we can detect only brightness difference . And let me tell you, i know for a FACT its a double star system , and so is Solar system , Saturn is our other Star , but it does not explode , it turns off. If you would look at Sun from far away you would see same light difference cycles . Even more complex , and indeed Betelgeuse one is also more complex but our Instruments cant detect it .
It’s the exact same size as the Earths Core. The Star directly reflects the “tone” or “resonance” of the world population. Live by Resonating harmony, peace and goodwill and it gets brighter, Resonate Evil or unpure tone and well, you’ll get what you get…
Betelgeuse? The size of the Earth's core? It's a red supergiant. One of the largest stars we've seen. It's huge! It's larger than Jupiter's orbit! Did I completely misunderstand you?
@@poormanagement1722 No star is the size of earth's core, any star that absorbing other stars will accumulate mass. The smallest known star, OGLE-122b is a red dwarf with a radius only about 20% larger than Jupiter. Below this threshold, are classified as brown dwarf which are not massive enough to sustain fusion reactions in their core There is some fascinating research suggesting that Betelgeuse might have absorbed a smaller star in the past. Also, Betelgeuse size is larger than Jupiter's orbit. A little research is knowledge learned.

The directors need to get a real voice. This AI keeps messing up the names. Very aggravating.
Also the star is around 642 light-years away.
It's been 4 months... Where's the supernova?

You can't even circle the right star
Thanks for sharing ❤

Too long winded. After minutes into the video, still didn't learn anything about the title.
It's ai slop remember the voice. And if you hear a word repeated more than 8 times in a minute know that it's also written by ai.

This channel is a content mill, their content is worthless rubbish designed to generate as much money as possible.
Unknown distance ✅
Known temperature ❓❓❓
How many trillion celsius(Defo not im just exaggerating)
I think 16x the size of our sun is a bit off!
What size do you think it is? Can you elaborate?
It is, you can fit it into the solar system and go past mars
I think he meant 16 times the mass/weight. The actual size/diameter is WAY more. Guess it's just lighter materials? Not sure. That's my best guess.
Its size is an estimate between under 10x that of the sun to perhaps over 20x. 16x is possible.
someone lost their home there maybe ...
Beetlejuice exploded
Thank you. 😊

Bah…
What in the name of sanity is a Su-pergeant star?
So what I am getting from this AI voice over is that they dont really know, or it might be or could be currently or possibly was .
What a out electro magnetic waves, like neutrinos
Betlejuse and supover amd sholdurh
Sounds like Beetlejuice.
É mesmo, caríssimo caçador de cliques, por que, então, não existe uma estrela tão brilhante quanto a lua no meu céu?

Interesting
Why do these videos always explain the stuff everyone who is interested in this "stuff" already knows. ;)
It adds minutes to the video
There's only so much information we have about these kinds of things. I doubt humans will ever figure it all out anyway.
It's a star red giant and that is all we know!
