Egypt to Build World's Tallest Building | 1000m Oblisco Capitale Tower

- Egypt is building an entirely new capital city with the Oblisco Capitale as a centerpiece. Emulating the same dimensions as Egypt's original obelisk, the structure will be around 1 kilometer tall. In addition, the design is inspired by the lotus flower, a flower that has grown in the Nile delta for millennia.
Through one of the videos released from the company on the tower’s design, the tower is 1000 meters long; it is designed to be one of the tallest towers in the world and will have special places for shopping, housing, and recreation.
“We’re already imagining The Oblisco Capitale Tower coming to life…Here’s a glimpse of what it will look like once developed” the company’s caption went on a video material on Instagram.
The tower will be taller than the Burj Khalifa in Dubai by 172 meters, as the length of the Burj Khalifa is only 828 meters.

Egypt really is doing a lot to modernize. First the new administrative capital and the New Alamein. Can’t wait to buy real estate along the Mediterranean coast when Alamein is complete. Egypt deserves to be a world power with all the people have went through.

This really looks like it'll be something. I hadn't heard of it until recently, and if you want to find a design representing a country, it fits perfectly. It would be not unlike Teipei 101. You can tell the culture of these buildings by looking at them, not so much the case even for the Burj Kalifa and some others, not saying they're not awesome designs, but they don't seem to have the cultural relevance Oblisco does.

Currently they're building the first phase, and that tower is not included in the first phase.

The tower in the pictures look beautiful. It would certainly take its place among the world's most beautiful and impressive towers if built. But it won't be. Economies are crashing, tourism is non-existent. Super ambitious and super expensive projects like this won't happen again for many years. The people who planned and got financial support for this project did this in the pre-Covid world.
They should build more Pharonic looking structures! Like temples,pyramids and sphinks!

Egypt is already building many skyscrapers. Although I like skyscrapers very much, I don’t think that a 1000 m tower is necessary now. First the skyscrapers they’re building now and then, when Egypt gets stronger and stronger on its feet economically, they can think again about this project.

Looks great, but seeing it become reality is another thing. To build something like that would cost at least $1billion. Egypt have many mega projects ongoing at the moment, finance is in short supply. When the new capital is built they have to fill that first before even thinking of building something like this. Otherwise it would be an empty building...a financial black hole.
