George Harrison was so shadowed in The Beatles that he never really got a chance to showcase his music. All things must pass was a great album and huge too. I think this song is just brilliant 👏
To my knowledge, this song is about reincarnation, and was written in 1966, which is when George started becoming immersed in Hindu spirituality. Once we die, we are brought back as a new person, and this cycle repeats until you truly have nothing more you want to accomplish or have. I could be wrong though, I'm not too knowledgeable about that. I agree, the bassline is incredible.
Similar to Nietzche's theory of eternal return. We live the same life over and over.
So many great George Harrison songs! You should give a listen to "Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll)" off "All Things Must Pass" or "Don't Let Me Wait Too Long" off "Living in the Material World."

'Run of the Mill' is one of my favourites off ATMP. Man, he was in good form at this time in his career. If this album didn't exist and was released today it would be huge,.. Ed Sheeran would be packing his bags and retiring.

George’s very first solo album out of the Beatles…. No 1 smash album …. Triple LP at the time of release, he had so many songs stored up because he could never get them all on a Beatles LP ….👍.

Not familiar with GH, come on! Get on your game... Traveling Wilburys was just a fun swan song for George. OK, just joking. Yea, a great tune. Jim Gordon on drums here adds an even better groove... a great drummer. Check out the lyrics of so many great tunes... Beware of D, All Things, etc.
I think GH may have pulled some luricak content from Book of Dead, or obviously Buddhist principles.... living in preparation for dying. An opus, 3 record ser of GHs many tunes that lennon, mcartney, and George Martin did give much attention, and why modern you guyys are too young... music rock was a theme song for a generation of us.
