Nice! We have part 2 for the story: ua-cam.com/video/qW8V2hQy1PA/v-deo.html
This timelapse point of view with voice-over narration is one of the most interesting formats for programming-related videos I ever saw. It was great! Great video, my favorite Aivars Mejiers video.
Thanks for feedback! Will try to play around with this format in future videos as well.
First Video of 2023!
Happy new Year!
Happy new year! 🎉
Starting year strong :D
Awesome video and amazing editing as always Aivars! Can't wait to try the app!!
Thanks so much!!
Glad the review process is moving along ❤️. Happy new year !
Yes! Thank you! Have a great 2023!
Happy New Year, Aivars! Very atmospheric video. Good luck with publishing app!
Happy new year! Thank you 🤞
Thanks for sharing the experience. Happy New Year!
Happy new year! Glad you like the video.
Happy 2023!
🥂 cheers, Ivan!
definitely your best vid i’ve seen so far. Nice way to end the year.
also, looks like you need to start a second channel on cooking
Wow, thanks! I think this was my last year best one.
Cooking channel sounds like fun retirement project when I will be bored from programming :)
Happy New Year Aivars! Always love your content :)
Happy new year! Thanks, James!
Happy New Year Aivars, lots of succes in 2023!
Same to you!
Happy new year, Aivars!
Thank you! Cheers 🥂
Happy new year!
Same to you!
Happy New Year!

Happy New Year
Happy New Year! Great content, inspires me to want to develop on my free time. I have a quick question for 2023: For those just beginning in iOS development, do you recommend starting with Swift UI or UI Kit? I just want to make some basic apps for now and eventually get a job as an iOS engineer full time.
Happy new year!
Start with SwiftUI, that's where market is moving. You can catch on UIKit later if needed.
Whatever you do, do not try to learn both at the same time
Happy new year 🎉
That breakfast pastry looks delicious what's it called
Happy new year.
That's hachapuri with slightly modified receipt to to use cottage cheese as a base.
Happy + successful New Year Aivars! Thanks for your email, and the details on Appstore review. We keep our fingers crossed for the release :) Will test the app, will come in handy. Hope it's 3+ habits?
Actually it is hard core - one habit at the time app. Not sure yet if will add multiple habit support, but I believe that you should add one at the time
@@AivarsMeijers I agree on 1 (more) habit every 30 days. But. I keep losing good habits over time. I see value in keeping track of already established habits.
Hello Aivars, thanks for your perfect videos, I like your way of doing these videos and your insight. Please what is the app name on your iPad for organizing staff and what iPad holder you use as I can see at 2:28. Thank you
Hey, hey! Thanks for the feedback!
That is OmniFocus 4 beta on the iPad. The magnetic stand is from Benks.
@@AivarsMeijers cool, thank you so much👌👌
Great video!! I think you should update your app icon cuz now it looks like a to-do app. Maybe try to play with circles?) Happy New year!!
Thanks for feedback, will keep updating app and icon as well
Great video !!!
A little question, maybe you tried to use Realm DB in your apps ? )
I do, I'm using Realm in my apps since 2016. Originally I choose it because it was way easier to implement comparing with CoreData. Now Core Data is easier to deal with, but I still have Realm because of legacy.
@@AivarsMeijers maybe you've come across problem with List and onMove closure fot @ObservedResults objects ? )
@@Shadowman405Minsk Nope, didn't implement anything specific for it
Nice… what’s the live wallpaper on your vertical mon? Is that a live4k app live background?
Thats from wallpaper engine, it is connected to windows machine
Hey Aivars, if ur using non Command keyboard, what button u use on "windows keyboard" as cmd? ty
I'm using ALT as CMD, if keyboard dosen't support mac layout, I'm remapping keys in system settings
Awesome work in any direction: on app and on food!!!
Could you share the recipe? Looks Very delicious. :).....
That's hachapuri, I'm using cottage cheese for the base.
Alvars, need a break from IOS development? Start a cooking channel! Breakfast looked dam good and you can help the community by teaching us digit heads how to feed ourselves. 😄 Happy 2023……look forward to more delicious Segway’s. Thanks
Maybe one day :)
I wish you and subscribers inspiration for new projects
Would you recommend the iOS dev path still ? I have almost 6 years of web dev and recently have been enjoying learning SwiftUI quite a lot but not sure yet if I want to dive deep in and make a career change tbh.
Start it on side and then you will see if you like to stick with it and switch carrers.
There will be enough work for years ahead, so no worries about that.
Big fan of your channel!
I appreciate that!
Congratulations on the app. Interesting that Apple gave you direct feedback. Whenever my app gets rejected all I ever get is a copy paste from the app guidelines.
First reject was just point from requirements. When I wrote back that it dosen't make sense I got detailed feedback.
Good stuff!
Thanks!
"don't see big difference in emotions if you are happy or have depression" ahah so true. I'm a bit more on the southern side of Europe but your comment applies all over. Europe has been through a lot so I am not surprised!
Yep, hard nature hard people :)
Italy, Greece, Spain are more relaxed. At least that how it looks for me
Happy New Year! Wish all of us can live our regular peaceful iOS developer's life next year. +1 for you to start a second cooking channel )
Thanks! If programming carer fail, I will switch to cooking :)
How much do u make as an iOS developer?
I have video about revenue from my side projects : ua-cam.com/users/clipUgkxr5PuR_Pw-OLXee37tAZ2XVek1qQbtvFE
Hopefully an iOS dev tutorial soon. Can’t wait to use the app in 2023… ✌️
Coming soon!
Keep it up my fellow developer, remember no such things as peaks of a mountain if there is no trench in the valley!
Swiftui job market in 20223?
It is looking good and will become better every month
Hi Aivars, I know that it might be dull for some and for you really tiresome, however could you please make a video and explain a bit more that part of the initial coding/planning of the MVP? Doesn't have to be an explanation of every line of code, but just more details for example how do you go from that initial MVP idea to the actual coding part.
As to the 1st rejection that you received: I can see that there's an app called 'Small Habit' in the App Store. It could be that someone from Apple just assumed that you are trying to copycat that app. 😅
Will try to think how to cover that and still have watchable video. Meanwhile you can take a look into indie app playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLlDKWZ2OLI-rgl_bqis6PVSJrgkOq4xMv.html
Nope, that wasn't rejection reason. I didn't know that app exists, but any difference in the name is enough to publish App
С Новым 2023 годом 🎆🎄🎉🍾🎁🎈🎊 мужик! Удачи 🍀 здоровья и счастья, успехов во всех начинаниях и только новых достижений! 😊
Thank you! Cheers, Vasily 🥂
Nice
I also cook hachapuri 👨🍳. If I guessed the meal right😊
Yep, that is it. Modified receipt with cottage cheese instead of bread. 👨🍳
Brali, visu to labako jaunaja gada
Paldies! Cheers 🥂
happy new year
🎉
You mentioned you hate figma ? Why ??)))
And thank you for content
That was more like a joke. I'm using both Figma and Sketch app.
I'm moving from Sketch to Figma, because it is free and there is community around it, but I still have better skills working in Sketch app.
So, that's more like lack of the skills
I really love your content and even inspire me to develop more, though I'm a flutter dude, happy 2023 and to more years of fixing bugs
We still can be friends even you choose Flutter 😁
Thank you! Cheers 🥂
