      Has the Seaboard RISE not been around for seven years already? Frankly, I would prefer the year-old RISE 2 over this due to the price difference and the ability to slide rather than have a simulated one.
      Always the user's preference though.

    The extended keys aren‘t just for design :) They help to provide more balanced pressure level to the whole key. Thats helpful for professional players who use the full length.

    • @mabian69
      @mabian69 Рік тому +3

      Also you can get more control in the lower "velocities" because they're harder to push there. More granular control with light notes :)

    • @timoheinrich8763
      @timoheinrich8763 Рік тому +1

      plus the length of the key makes a big difference in how the "wiggle" motion feels. It will be smoother the longer the key is. Just imagine it being only an inch long: Wouldn't feel good at all!

    So cool that you were able to get one. I've been eyeing it up myself as something "extra" to add to my collection for playing VSTs more expressively. I think I'll let that high of anticipation ride a little longer before pulling the trigger while I watch more videos out there. Great video as always, Sanjay. BTW, you going to NAMM this year? Looking forward to seeing what is promoted this year. If you will be there and covering it on video, I will be sure to wait for your release before anyone else's. 🙂

      Keep going GAD! Music should be for you first, listeners/views/clicks a distant second. If you're trying to make money at this - your passion and enjoyment will show in the music. Artists that just push out a track focused on likes might catch a viral hit for a bit and fade into the ether - but people with staying power are those that love music and their listeners / other creators purely for the music itself.
      Distrokid will help spread your music to all the various platforms; which could indeed lead to more views / bandcamp visits.
      Don't let a view count dictate whether or not you should release your music!

    What’s your view on this vs Roli Seaboard Rise 2?

    • @SanjayC
      @SanjayC  Рік тому +1

      Both are going to give you new kinds of expression when playing. Osmose has a more natural feel because of the familiar keys so its easier to play right away. The Rise 2 can do some things this can't. Like a wide bend right across the keyboard and back...with easier precision. You kinda gotta think of what actions you'll really do.

    Nicely done Sanjay.. THank you.. I also watch "Andertons" music channel since I'm from the UK and Jack there did a good dabble as well.. I think its an amazing instrument, I call it an instrument because its has more nuance than a keyboard. Butt, and its a huge ass wipe for me.. Its $3999 Australian dollars. As if I could buy a sequential circuits or good arturian synth or any number of Roland and Yamaha flagships in that price. This is aimed at people who have a bit of spare cash and cant be bothered drawing in velocity and volume changes in their DAW.. (which is a lot of us but too much money)

      Hey Sanjay.. love the channel.. I live in the beef capital of Australia so line dancing is the best way to get into a band.. Wonder if there will be an episode on playing with a band as opposed to a studio.. Would be a great way for you to collaborate given your nonce on music.. Not everyone does studios 🙂

    how is the build quality though? and any bugs and glitches for a new board?

    • @SanjayC
      @SanjayC  Рік тому

      I didn't really structure this video like a "review," but here's my two cents: The build quality is excellent..everything feels pro...the interface is awesome. The keys are sometimes a bit noisy when you release a bend because they can brush up against each other. But its something you can learn to get around. Its lighter than it looks so easily portable I think.

    Seems like a bargain but, that many independently functioning physical sensors and the mechanisms of the key movements, at this price point, gives me pause. It's a LOT that has to be ON POINT for THOUSANDS of repetitions that can be quite abusive and so, given this price point, seems development may have been rushed. My years have taught me to stay away from first gens of new things that are sporting lots of new features....especially when they come in at a bargain price point. Can't wait to see where this thing ends up.... a workhorse that will last a while or a maintenance nightmare better suited to wearing a trash bag. GREAT concept though. I'll surely be keeping my eye on it. What I'd like to know is whether or not all the sensors will stream the MIDI data independently out the USB and/or the conventional 5-pin. Or is the MIDI out limited to only say note on/off and velocity?
