Would you like to ride in Idaho?
@@ooookaaay1746 Have to come legally these days :-(
Several times a week! Cool to see you out enjoying such a great place for mountain & gravel riding.
All the time. Idaho is one of the last frontiers for adventure.
Ha, I already do! North Idaho near Moscow, Coeur d'Alene, and McCall is super pretty too. Go University of Idaho Cycling team!
I will.
Thanks for the idea.
"Thanks for the hug by the way. That's so not British." I love this line!
At the end of these rides with guests sit down with them for 30 minutes or an hour and just bullshit about cycling and release it as a podcast. With the amazing film team you have that would be super easy compared to what you do now and very very entertaining.
Thanks for the Amazing content.
Thanks Pablo, appreciate it!
Si a great presenter. I hope you make his american travels a whole series.
Baggy clothing and a bum bag? I can't unsee these images.
shut up nerd. go do your intervals and pretend youre fast.
Me neither! Nightmares!!
@skateski I run and hike and bike. People who just run are missing out.
Moose, super aggressive - kinda funny.....Until one tramples you to death, then only the moose is laughing.
Rebecca comes across as super humble and approachable for someone of her caliber.
The mountain lions catch, kill and eat a cyclist every once in a while. I doubt any one can out sprint one unless you are on a monster descent.
A moose once bit my sister (Monty Python reference)
Not surprisingly Canadian moose are much nicer than those nasty yank ones- there's more than a few pics around of 'em pulling sleds and whatnot for the locals. Still, best not grab a bull in rut if you're lookin' pretty, unless you're looking for a special kind of fanny pack.
@@ronbyers9912 Every once in a while is about every 75 years.
How did I not know about this woman?! Loved what she said about not focusing how fast you can go on a bike but on where it can take you. That is just pure inspiration!
She's bloody marvellous.
I think Rebecca is my favourite guest on GCN. More of her please.
Aw, thanks! I have lots of cool videos on my page too! Check them out!
@@RebeccaRusch I'll head over there now. 👍
Simon was really thrown off by that bro hug 😂😂😂
And completely flummoxed by “you might have to stay overnight” 🤣🤣🤣
I've been noticing an increase in the amount of cyclists in the background of GCN videos over the years, even before Covid. Always nice to see more people being active and having fun!
How do you know you're addicted to cycling....when you're just about to start spending friday night repeat binge watching the NC500 video, and you couldn't be more thrilled that a new epic ride video just dropped!
Woohoo! Glad to be of service!
Rebecca is a legend and you rode with her you lucky dog
Dale Zapple back off Dale she’s my next wife 😂😂🥰🥰
I can't believe I missed this video up until now. So awesome to get to see Rebecca Rusch on GCN and what an epic place to ride. Nice job getting back out!
Woah, Rebecca looked and sounded so cool and friendly. Love the short rides and 1/2 day adventure. Thanks Si & GCN!
Come join me in Idaho for my ride!
Those drops are so flared that John Travolta wants them back
Teehee
Every American cyclist regardless of definition knows Rebecca. A legend, and in the team picture of all time great American cyclists. 👌 Glad you guys connected.
Good gravy you cats are just nailing these epic ride videos lately. Don't get me wrong, they've always been quite good, but these are some next level $4!t. Kudos and thanks!
Two things: 1. This might have just talked me into going gravel! 2. She might be one of my new heroes! Those are some serious accomplishments. Thanks for another great video.
Gravel is great especially because you dont have to worry about getting hit by a car because the driver was too busy updating Facebook
Also look up alison tetrick's story she will blow your mind
Go for it Eric!
My ride, Rebecca's Private Idaho is a great place to start!
What a stunning place, and Rebecca awesome super cool lady. Astounded anyone gave this thumbs down, just so positive.
You notice that Si runs out of gas on his 40 km Idaho ride. I wouldn't give him a hard time about that. I would imagine that he wasn't in Sun Valley all that long before filming. The elevation of Sun Valley is about 1800 meters up to 2700 plus meters. A lot of people, even very fit people, who come in from sea level require several days to acclimatize.
LaughingSaint here in the rest of the world (the bits that are not Idaho) we have modernised and metricated our measuring systems ( for most of us between 50 and over 100 years ago). Ron is making way more sense to the rest of the world by using metres!
@@LaughingSaint66 I don't use meters either but I think it is polite to translate for the rest of the world.
I know that somebody from UK that participated in a mountain bike competition in US(without acclimatization), was explaining that at 1.8km he was getting so dizzy that he was not able to think and not even realizing that he was not processing what he is doing.
World class gravel and off-road riding, and Rebecca is my hero, a champion and wonderful person.
What a legend Rebecca Rusch. Great to see GCN do a video with her.
Such a great ride. Live in the Pacific Northwest and absolutely love it so I'm glad its getting some love on this channel.
I love the phrase "It's not about how fast can I go on my bike but where can my bike take me" inspirational
What a legend!
Rebecca Rush, "Queen of Pain" indeed! Would love to see GCN race Rebecca's Private Idaho.
Send Katherine
Absolutely should have the whole gcn crew do Rebecca's Private Idaho.
Send Emma Pooley!!!
and I would love to have them! Join me!
Whew, Si, those handlebars!! But loving these travel videos.
"Are you Simon?" Never mind this mic already pinned on my jersey....Classic!
brilliant
Love these endurance GCN shows. I'm also glad Si isn't wearing those dumb Bell Helmets. 😁
That was a another lovely film, thank you Simon and the GCN team. Also, Rebecca came across as a lovely host, can we see more from her in the future?
Si, ya look like your gonna take off with those handle bars...
Great stuff here, very nice!
If there was ever a video that needed to be longer!.....
That background (scenery) is just STUNNING!
Gorgeous video! Always nice to catch up with Si and what he’s up to :)
Yeah!! Loved this, Rebecca is a favorite of so many! Thank you for highlighting her :)
You guys really need to do a more epic ride there. Amazing place! I would love to see a longer vid of that.
Amazing scenery. Great filming.
stunning video. MORE LIKE THIS PLEASE. Si keep up the great work
Love this channel showing riders with personalities that can draw in any rider.
Now when is Si going to ride Alaska?
Ms. Rusch would make a great addition to the GCN team, just sayin'.
Love seeing Rebecca and Simon together!
My spouse is from Sun Valley and I spend probably one month a year up there. It is a underappreciated, world class outdoors scene. Which is probably for the best.
It's not underappreciated, most of us just can't afford to go there.
Si "Thanks for the hug" great adventure
That is a such beautiful view. Idaho looks so amazing. I really want to have a ride there. But the mountain lions part is a bit scary though. Amazing video.
Thanks for coming to our side of the pond!
You didn’t know whether to give Rebecca a hug at the end there did you Si’?.......so English!.....love it!....
Bikes are like music. It moves people all over the world. Love it!
Such a nice mellow video. Blood Road is now added to my watchlist!
I really enjoy these epic ride videos, keep them coming. This ride was too short and requires a follow up!
Idaho is beautiful. I can't wait until I can move back.
Putting the bum bag behind you for one moment - a terrific video, really enjoyed it
One of... if not my favorite video from y'all!! Love Love Love ✌💜😎
Awesome Tom!
Finally you made it to Idaho! Try Utah next. Some really scenic and amazing roads.
Si seems a little intimidated by her. Can't blame him, she is an absolute legend. Blood road is my favourite riding doco. Amazing woman.
Si, you're losing at least 5w on that non-aero shirt
Wow! I enjoyed the video! This was very nice!
Rebecca is a legend and so humble and amazing 😉
Just got my new gravel bike this week... and Sun Valley is just 2 hours away! Can't wait to get some riding done out there.
I'm looking to move to that area. Looks like Boise is the closest area I could actually get a job, which is a shame because of its much lower elevation and distance to the mountains. Any other towns I should look at for jobs for regular people that might be closer to this place?
@@HydeMyJekyll Boise is above 2,700 feet and is literally at the base of the Rocky Mountains. Fire roads and singletrack go directly from town up into the mountains. Bogus Basin is roughly 16 miles away and is at 7k feet. For gravel, road, or mountain biking (and snow skiing) there are not very many metro areas that can beat Boise. Twin Falls is other closest 'metro' area but it is still an hour and a half away from Sun Valley. McCall and Sun Valley are just 2 hours away from Boise... other good riding spots like Bend and Hood River are about 5 hours away.
@@BikeandSkiGeoff So you think Boise is pretty good for overall cycling? I currently live near Asheville, NC and love the road biking and hiking, but I really want to get closer to some bigger mountains for once. I've done a few short 1-2 week trips out west and I just can't get enough of it. Was hoping to find somewhere to live that was a higher elevation to help with training, lol. The whole "gotta have a place to work" thing is the only obstacle
the views are just breathtaking!
My uncle lives out in Idaho near Boise and the mtb is kinda meh, but the gravel scene is absolutely awesome!! Amazing scenery and miles of forest road or singletrack. Definately wanna hear back again with my gravel bike.
Hope you enjoyed your trip to the Western US, definitely had some nice scenery!
Si left his breath at sea level.😉
Great stuff Si!👏🏻👍🏻💪🏻👊🏻
Welcome to Idaho Si! You should venture up to the Northern part of the state.
Thats what I said! Moscow and Coeur d'Alene.
@@clayallred3545 heck, anywhere in Idaho. You can't go wrong - lost maybe.
I usually have a "bum pack" with me on road.. so easy to carry stuff.. back pack would be soooo sweaty. Nice scenery there You had..
Ohhh please #GCN do one of your group events in Idaho!! Just down hwy 93 and a quick right on 26!
Rebecca. legend. thanks for giving the GCN team some of your time
Super video! Wish it was a bit longer. Si, too much angst about 'bum bag'. USA/gravel = don't worry what you look like, enjoy the ride!! Thanks again!!!
Like your attitude Dan :)
Looks a pretty amazing location and really neat cycling.
Location is indeed awesome. I backpacked their. Well better than Sierra Nevada in California that already turned into railway station
Dang it, I only like an hour from Sun Valley. I would have loved to meet you guys!
More videos like this please. 👍
Wonderful...
GCN, you make me happy with these videos. #escapism
Love the vid! Would love to ride in Idaho... And hugs are nice :-)
That handlebar on your bike Si is soooo wide! Incredible. How did it feel riding such a wide handlebar?
Fantastic video.
Great show again Si, I love everything about the Viathon except the handle bars, the flair has got to go it looks ridiculous. Also what kind of "bum bag" is that? I know right, the bars are a 'no' but the bag I like 😂
Not just the first chairlift in the US, but the first chairlift in the world.
It would have been funny to watch Si sport a top-tube bag 😎
TOO NICE!!!
these vast stretches of pure nature in the US really make me jealous. no places like this in Europe, everything is just way more compressed / compact. which is usually pretty handy in everyday life though tbh
June is the best month to go to Idaho/Montana/Wyoming. It's the greenest time of year, as you can see from the video. Just beautiful.
Oddly enough, my fellow Idahoans are jealous of the European bike paths and safety culture. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, probably due to the leaking septic tank. 😄
In need to move to Idaho asap!!!
Great video! Come back to the US again.
Those flared handlebars are extreme Si!
Love your vids Si, they're the best! (sorry guys!) 👍🏻
Welcome to Idaho!
I love how American the two cyclists Si has made videos with are.
I lived in Idaho for 13 years but it was before gravel bikes so we MTB’d it.
RPI is a blast. Get registered and see it for yourself! Rebecca puts on a great event.
I think Simon is feeling the elevation! 😂
Those handlebars on Si’s bike are soooo wide! Wow!
Yay! IDAHO!!
Why is that so short? Si always does very well off-road, and even better with the ladies.
Great to see a UK equivalent of this? Lakes, Snowdonia, Scotland etc
Check out our ride with JPows in Exmoor!
si wearing a bum bag tho, its brilliant!!🤣🤣🤣
Fanny pack!
@@Bandyrobs1 Bum bag. It's our language. The clue is in the name.
@@CheeseyWotsit I know..I am British but always makes me laugh that the americans call it this!
Very cool ! Is there more info on the (new) Viathon ?
Amazing gravel roads, nothing like in my countryside farm roads that feels like holding a machinegun while riding them
Rebecca was great!
Great Cadence she holds!
Those are nice looking shorts. Showing up the GMBN guys a bit?
you should come back and do the lp200 that's a relay ride from boise to sun valley
