With breathtaking views, tough climbs, and many possibilities for café stops, Andalucia ought to be on any cyclists bucket list. Matt and Emma were lucky enough to get to discover the roads (and the cafés!) for themselves.

Global Cycling Network Innsbruck to recon the world champs
How bout the region around amatrice in italy with the national parks? Never been there but bet its great...
Come to Mallorca again. We'll welcome you with open arms!
could you guys do a 'dropped handlebars' for beginners please? :)
The French basque country around Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. Got some brutal climbs around there for example the Pic/Puerto de beillurti
I just came back to this old video. I miss Emma! And Matt!
Gotta love the duo's National Champs' arm bands and collars.
Coming back to this video, the natural vibe with Emma and Matt is incredibly enjoyable. I could watch them sort recycling. Fortunate they enjoy biking. Unfortunate they’re no longer on GCN!
Emma, I hope you enjoy being on the show as much as we love you being on it.
Thanks Derek
Some of the slickest and most natural filming GCN has done so far. Proper entertaining and just see the fun they are having! Top top video in all elements
yeah
Lovely little pocket rocket she is.
Matt's noisy when he blows! I can't stop myself from smiling the whole time I'm watching this. Epic.
It is such an amazing ride OJ!
That's what she said
Chapeau Emma and Matt! Absolutely loved this... Top Gear for cyclists 🚴☕🚴☕🚴☕
Thanks Matthew!
Great video. I don't know if you take suggestions but I think you guys should do epic ride in Norway, such a beauty of a country to ride a bike, full of fjords and mountains.
Thats a brilliant suggestion purga!
I could imagine a worse working day than pedaling through southern Spain with Emma Pooley. Lovely, this.
It was a pretty awesome day!
Awesome!!!! Matt and Emma, what a team! Probably one of the best ride videos I have ever watched. I have always enjoyed the rest of the team, Si, Dan, and Tom, but Emma is just a great addition. Great, great video, I can't wait to share it with my wife!
Thanks Ron, we really love hearing such amazing feedback like yours!
Absolutely love cycling in Andalucia. Brilliant roads with very little traffic, amazing views and everything from coast to mountains. Need to get back!
It's a stunning place to ride for sure!
In association with the coffeeshops of Andalucía
Haha! You can never have enough coffee!
Visited Andalusia this past October and your video with coffee stops encouraged me at almost 70 years old to cycle the hills. Thank you . Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Emma adds so much to the channel. I'm beyond happy with her. Great episode. Great series. Can't wait for the next one. Awesome camera work and editing.
We love having Emma on board!
Another example of how GCN is evolving and upping their game on UA-cam. Well done everyone; Emma, Matt, pre-production, post-production, and everyone in between that it takes to produce content on this level. Thank you!
Thanks, MijoMontego! We love making these videos and great to hear you love watching them too!
The music, the scenery, the editing... magical!
Loved this one and the behind the scenes version too. Adventure cycling FTW! Emma continues to amaze. Thanks for this!
Great stuff Patrick!
We miss you Matt!!! Come baaaaaack!
An Epic video, So funny to see Emma bouncing on the pedals and Matt trying to keep up. It's like watching a sitcom, fantastic more please.
Cheers Phill!
Love these bike travel logs. This particular one certainly brings back childhood memories: my aunt and uncle lived in Estepona for many, many years. Thanks!
Brilliantly inspiring! Emma has such a great "Presenter's" way of describing the scene and making
you feel like you now know why this is such a great adventure. Matt always reminds me of the
real story with his technical rider description of grade, roads ...coffee.
Thanks for such a great way to make GCN so much a part of my riding.
Tom Byrne
What a great ride!!! Climbs and lots of café con leche...
And Emma, your spanish is superb...
Thanks Daniel, it was such an awesome ride!
I like the addition of Emma and the recent videos with you guys taking a break and enjoying life is great!!!
Thanks Gt George!
Congratulations on this video in Andalucia. Thank you very much. Greetings from Cadiz
You should visit Greece. It's a country that not many cyclists know although there is great weather most of the year , hospital people, great views and a reminder of the ancient Greek civilization throughout the country. There are a lot of ups and downs as 80% of the country is mountainous
Great idea A P! Sounds amazing, where would you recommend?
Global Cycling Network a tour in Cyclades that include Santorini and Mykonos islands is a good option. Islands like Rhodes, Crete and Corfu are great as well. Mount Pylion near the city of Volos has incredible view in the sea and you can have a coffee stop in the scenic village of Makrinitsa under the shadow of the big plane trees. In Peloponnese you will feel the ancient Greek element , Sparta is there, ancient temples and it's the place where Olympic games were held for the first time, still with many uphills and downhills. Meteora on the other hand, doesn't have sea but there are monasteries that are built on giant rocks defying gravity, great place for photos. Metsovo near Ioannina have great view from above and greater traditional food. Thermos is a mountainous region that is next to the Trichonida lake, just like Plastira lake that is near Karditsa and Trikala. Dion is an archeological site in the foot of Olympos the tallest mountain in Greece. Delfi is another archeological site, one of the greatest in Greece, that is between mountains. I hope you visit Greece and have a great time.
P.S. The list goes on and on. I am sure that I forgot many nice places for cycling ,so please if someone who is Greek or has visted Greece has something to add , do it under that comment.
I loved this episode! I'm an American that used to live in Andalucia- perhaps my favorite place on this planet other than home. Emma was close on her translation of her sugar-packet- but I'm sure she already knows her mistake. "Value those that dedicate their time to you, it is something they will never get back."
Thanks Jared, it really is stunning out there!
That looks amazing! Well deserving of bucket list status, the views, the roads, minimal traffic, the coffee!! Though I reckon I'm going to have to train hard to attempt it considering that it was a challenging ride for a British Champion and a World Champion!
Heading over there next year for a couple of weeks. Thank you for the last two videos and a little preview of what I can expect. I can't wait!
Have an amazing time Mark!
love the music in all their videos kudos to the editorial team and everyone else involved with gcn
Great vid, Emma's like a little pocket rocket. She's been a great addition to the team.
Emily is a mega addition to the team!
Cheers Brian!
Wonderful video! I love both your climbing styles and how they’re so very different.
Thanks!
Love you guys! Thanks you very much indeed for everything you did for me! You opened me the world, the world of cycling! Matt God Luck in your commentary, you are a dedicated professional! Watching Tours with your voice is something special! See you in Grand Tours!
These videos are fantastic! Looking forward to part 3 😀
Seriously, one of the best videos I have ever seen on UA-cam.
Why? Because it inspires you to do something you will always remember.
Thanks, Philipp! What do you have planned for your next adventure?
Beautiful scenery & great music for this video. Ride On!
To ride with Matt Stevens must be one of the best things ever, but by golly isn't Emma an absolute delight . Two super lovely people inspiring a fabulous adventure ! Thanks Guys , Steve .
This was great! Thanks for the tour.
Matt always reminds me of Stan, from Oliver and Hardy. Hapless to the core. Charmingly disarming. or maybe it's just cos i always fuck up when i try clipping in too.... ha ha. Great show. Emma is a treat.
Thankyou, that was good. The second of these EasyJet sponsored rides and I have enjoyed them both very much.
Excellent stuff!
Olé, great team work, beautiful views, great bike harmony.
Cheers from NYC
This series is great. Music choice is spot on as well!
Loving these, keep them coming!
Watching GCN when I get a notification of a new GCN video. It is a good day.
Great to hear!
Another destination added to the to-do list, and a very enjoyable video too. Just decided to start saving up for:
1. Bike case
2. GCN kit
Yes! Let us know when you get the kit!
Loving these Ride before you die videos! Hoping that plenty more will be coming:)
Stay tuned!
I really do envy you guys. Being able to ride for a job and go to such amazing locations to do so is "the dream".
It is pretty awesome Jon!
One of my favourite GCN videos yet! Well done guys you are setting the bench mark very high.😎
Cheers! We love hearing such positive feedback
Matt and Emma, what a wonderful worldly team. So great watching this episode. Please stay on the road and provide GLOBAL RIDE REPORTS, you are perfect for it. Right now, cycling is the most global it has ever been. The GCN show provides us with the global vision to see other countries and their cultures. GCN has shown that Cycling is the simple vehicle that allows each and everyone of us to share and witness other cultural's and their diversities. Your show provides its viewers with a truly global view giving us the first hand knowledge of our differences, and of course the most important part, our sameness, which brings us all closer together on this small planet we inhabit. RIDE ON!!!!
Thanks so much Richard! We love hearing feedback like yours! Happy riding!
Love this series!
Thanks Jimie!
You could come also to Basque Country, and it’s much colder, so it’s also a psychological challenge. I have loved hearing spanish from you, hope to hear some basque in the future, just some words 😄
Take a shot everytime Emma mentions coffee. Great stuff as always, Emma is the best!
15:17 Great shot of the duo on the decent. Love it.
Great video from GCN and the weather is really sunny and for cycling. Thanks for that and also for coffee theme - it`s truth :)
Was lucky enough to do some riding round Andalusia a few years back. It's worth noting that us northern European types need to be careful in the midsummer months as it get stupidly hot very quickly. Hit 45 degrees C in Sevilla while I was there, which can be dangerous if you're not used to it. If you're there in the summer months, shorter rides and early starts (6 or 7am latest) lets you get the best out of it without becoming punishing - at least, this is what the locals advised me and it worked well!
Love the show, keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for the tips Thomas!
Emma & Matt make such a wonderful team. Thank you!
Cheers dugfriendly!
Loved it ! Congratulations on a super documentary.
Really great to hear you loved the video!
Really enjoyed this video! I was about to complain about Emma not having her ex-world champ bands on her GCN jersey any more then realised that both Emma and Matt have their ex-National champ bands... You don't notice them at first because they are on both jerseys. Very cool!
Yeah, both Emma and Matt wear the stripes!
Great video. the background music especially guitar perfect and history lesson a bonus.
Thanks Harry, glad you liked it
Insane ride, i'm on for this summer !! let's go !! thanks gcn
not sure dude, summer there is 40C... around now is when it's perfect
Let us know when you go!
Totally true. Around 30º near the coast and 35-37 inland (depending on the day) at midday. And that's not the hottest part of Andalucia. Trust me, I live in the area. We usually ride from 7 am till 11.30 am or 12 in summer.
The filming and production on this was top notch. Definitely upped your game!
Thanks Rory!
Brilliant ride, thanks for sharing.
You're welcome!
What about a roadtrip. From A to B? Last year I did one from Eindhoven to Barcelona. 1700 km in 8 days.
Now I'm thinking about Moskou
Emma was on the Cervelo Test Team?! Isn't there another GCN presenter who is?🤔
One presenter is known to mention it from time to time...
Its dan
Is it the same one who designed his own Trek paint scheme? 😉
and the other one was there with Sastre
Blue shades setting off both of your National Champ stripes nicely. Great partnership!
😎
Bienvenidos a Andalucía !!!
Another great video. I think the Andalusian tourist board will love you for showing off the great cycling opportunities that they've got over there! I think another great place to cycle would be Croatia. I've never been there, but have seen other people's cycling vlogs and it looks very beautiful and unspoilt. Plus, it's somewhere a little different from where many people would think of cycling in Europe. It's relatively close, and I imagine the beer is very good value. Always a plus!
I'm sure Dan will be up for it for good 🍻
Wow! Where do I start? Loved everything about this video...top class. Love this series. Great everything...so much so that I’m about to go back and watch it a second time.
Ah, amazing stuff Aaron! Stay tuned!
So the GCN filming crew are human after all @4:17. There is hope for all of us. 🙏 But still awesome as always 👌🤙
With this bucket ride videos GCN must start sell bike bags. :) Great and epic! Thanks Emma and Matt and of course the rest of GCN!
Thanks Petinka!
Awesome ride. Love riding in Spain and it really IS like this! Also love the dynamic between Matt and Emma - they’re like brother and sister.
Or granddad and granddaughter ;)
Thanks! It was so much fun!
Simply wonderful!
Thanks Randy!
I have to say I really feel for Matt. So easy to get caught up in the beautiful scenery, and the momentum, and find yourself absolutely fried. Thank heavens for down hill finales and good friends.
Can't wait to get back out into the hills of Andalucia soon. Although going in the summer last year was somewhat interesting. Great video, thanks for the motivation to book my next flight out there.
You're welcome Michael!
My dad lives down there, nr. Granada. I get tired just walking, let alone cycling. I see a lot of people (clubs I guess) hitting the roads in pelotons. There was one guy absolutely smashing it and he only had one leg! The Alpujarra looks like a good ride if you like climbs...Regarding the roads, Spain has a long tradition with civil engineering and the main roads are excellent pretty much everywhere.
Beautiful country reminds me on Ibiza when I did xc mtb although not a lot of big climbs, but still beautiful to take in
Sounds awesome Marc!
3:11 that elevation graph looks lit af! thak you for an amazing content, hope I'll get to ride this rout some day ;)
Global Coffee Network 😂 Missing Matt & Emma!
Incredible UA-cam cycling show from GCN. I had to stop what I was doing to watch this episode and google Andalucía.
Thanks Pen2paw! Do you think you will head out there?
Definitely! It is very beautiful.
Holy cow, no cars there? I think I saw more cows than moving cars. Where do I sign up?
I've been all through Europe, and in my experience there's no country more respectful to cyclists then Spain.
Just love what you guys do.
Thanks so much!
I love this video, made me think I need a holiday but that is a beautiful film and country.
Thanks Alexandra, it is really beautiful out there!
Good stuff....riff mountains in Morocco....stunning
Loved it, I think it's gotta be done at some point ))
Another great vid! I've thoroughly enjoyed these two vids on the Spanish ride😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks Simon! Do you think you will get out there to ride?
Global Cycling Network Spain is on my bucket list, both by bike and motorbike 😊
Me encanta Emma hablando español, genial !!! lo haces muy bien. Y me encanta verlos pedaliar por el lado correcto de la calle !!! je je je
Gracias Frederico!
Emma's a STUD ! She kills it on those climbs.
Thanks GCN, We just finished this epic ride and it was truly epic!! By the way we also had lots of "cheeky ones" ;)
Simply a lovely little video from what was actually, an impressive ride! 👍🏻😊☕️
Thanks Magnus!
A cheeky one! Love that
So many cheeky coffees! ☕️
Great video, and thanks for the link to the gpx
Hope you get out to ride it Philip!
Great little video, loving the ex-British Road Champ duo!
Thanks Shaun!
I have known a lot of dedicated beer drinkers who use pubs they have frequented as landmarks to navigate by - AKA Beer Navigation - this is the first time I have seen anyone able to use the same technique to navigate by cafe or Coffee Navigators. Another GCN first?
Way to go Emma and Matt really enjoyed this video!
Glad you liked it!
More of these please 👌🏽
Great upload guys loved it.
Thanks!
I love the intro. And one presenter blows up!! I knew it was going to be Matt.
I've been going to Andalucia for ~15 years and it's really one of my favorite places to ride in the world. Amazing roads, and the climbs are truly beautiful. Hope you had a lot of fun riding and filming there !
Absolutely - it's a hidden gem, maybe until now!
I'm not telling you where I go when I fly from bristol...you'll tell everyone!
Great video team! Keep these coming!
Thanks Karl, stay tuned for more!
Love these videos
Thanks Olly!
amazing ride guys! nice seeing emma.
Cheers Harley!
Great video, more of this please :)
A couple of suggestions. Chianti Italy for beautiful landscapes and great food/wine. Corsica for a more "off the beaten track" destination with amazing mountain roads.
Thanks Torben! We will take a look!
It's so cool and fantastic!
Chapeau to Emma and Matt!
Haha, thanks Omaris!
Anytime! (^_-)
I appreciate your gratitude.
