Tremendous tennis. What do you do to stay in such good shape? There was a ton of running in this match, and I think most weekend warriors would be totally gassed after two sets of that. Definitely some serious fitness on display here. Great to watch.
Great match for both players. Alejandro plays too passively or he could have won more easily. He hesitates to move into the net. Around 7:45, he actually got into net, hit and overhead and was caught in no mans land because he didn't close after the overhead. Alej also had John on the run and hitting defensive slices many times and didn't move in behind his good shots. These passive tactics probably come from his red clay background where attacking the net pays a lower dividend than on hard courts. Alej hits the groundstrokes more aggressively than John in that Alej generates more racket head speed but on hard courts, he could save some energy by cashing in on hist good groundstrokes by attacking the net. Nadal is good at this because he frequently closes the net when he senses he has hurt his opponent.
Wait a sec....THIS is the same guy who just played MEP? This is definitely 4.5 playing level here, but against MEP he looks like he's playing 3.75 at best. Very bizarre.
because they used a crappy camera to record this. it is not a proper sports camera.everything looks slow on regular phone. this guy is a bortherline 5.0 for sure.
I'm also a 4.5. If I play a 5.5, I would probably 0-2 games max. So you maybe a 5.0. But I've seen 5.0s that can hit running forehand and backhands down the corner.
@@usopenjohn3725 super good tennis you have! Great footwork which sets you up for every shot. And you shots have lots of depth and power on them. Great job 👏 I subscribed You might enjoy my channel, I am also a tennis player!
Here are some tips for you: 1. Your upward motion during your serve needs to be sychronized - it should be more fluid 2. Learn to hit a drop shot 3. You've got a great backhand, so once you open up the court, come to the net
I agree on the drop shot comment. Many of your drop shots looked like short lobs. Against this particular player, whenever you hit a groundstroke that penetrated the court, he tended to hit a looping return that would have been a good opportunity to come in for a volley. Many of your volleys were either put aways or set you up for a put away.

Those 30 rally shots will leave you gasping for air and leg jelly.
Great game John and recently saw your awesome match against MEP, keep the good work!
Awesome match John ... so enjoy watching these.

Took a set off of a 12... Wow!

Great backhand but your forehand needs some work. It looks like a half stroke without any body rotation
