2021 High School JV singles #2 tennis match - TJ vs FW

Every point captured in the league match between Thomas Jefferson and Federal Way high school's tennis teams. The time taken between points has been edited out except where it's worth watching as the pressure builds to the epic conclusion.

Just a couple things to correct:
1. Your posture- When you're playing a match, whether it's when you're shaking hands, waiting for a point to start, or retrieving balls, you should be standing up straight and showing energy. Quietly calling score and being slumped over during a match tells your opponent that you're unprepared and weak, so do your best to avoid that.
2. Keep your offhand raised during forehands- It might seem stupid because you're only using one hand to hit the ball, but keeping your left hand raised when eyeing the ball in will help tons with balance, posture, and mobility after the stroke.
3. Never just stand around during a point- A lot of the time you got exposed because you were standing still and waiting for your opponent to return your shot. You should always be bouncing on the balls of your feet, moving to the center of the baseline, preparing your shot, or sprinting to the net to put the ball away. You should always be active while the ball is in play.
There are more things, but if you fix those then your whole game will look much much better. Best of luck to you!

Just a few things on their serves. They both need to work on the followthrough and both players lack pronation. The player in red needs way more back scratch as he currently has a waiter's serve and the player in white is content with just tapping the ball, especially on his second serve

I’m in highschool and Im now a 10th grader, but freshman year I think I would make varsity! But kid, try to do your best and that all that counts, get to hitting in the summer with friends and camps are a perfect way to improve skill!

few things.
1. please invest in a new racket it may seem so stupid but bro, my skill level improved 10x over, a head t.i fire wont do it for you.
2. work on foot work and overall energy on court, staying low, weight transfer throughout the shots, etc.
3. look up some quick easy at home drills to do at home, its all about the mindset!
