- In a departure from the norm on my channel today I met Mica from @murrayscott-nelson3512 to see this gorgeous 1966 Austin Healey 3000 Mk3 BJ8 Phase 2 car. I have always been a hige fan of classic cars from this era and having owned a 1977 MG back in the day I was always going to be drawn to the classics on the channel. We took this gorgeous Healey up onto Oliver Mount Circuit in Scarborough UK to get some photos, talk you round the cart and finally have a little passenger ride in it.
This car has undergone a full nut and bolt restoration, every single nut and bolt replaced, restored and repaired bringing this 1966 Healey back from the dead to where it is now. All of the work has been carried out by the world renowned team at Murray Scott-Nelson, with a total rebuilt time around 3000 hours which is incredible.
This particular car is a 1966 Austin Healey 3000 MK3 BJ8 Phase 2 car, it was as most Healys are imported back into the country after being in the USA and arrived in a poor state of repair, Murray Scott Neslon put love car and attention back into the car before handing over to the owner. unfortunately the car was never driven far since the rebuild due to the owner sadly passing away. The car then came back to Murray Scott-Neslon where they sorted a few things and are now selling the car. There is a link below and also in the PIN comment about the car and taking you direct to the website. Please make sure you mention my name if you have a any enquiries on the car.

Thanks for watching
Joe 😊
These are beautiful cars one of the all time classics
Looks lovely!
The X brace behind the grille should be black.
Almost original then 🤣
☺️🤗😁❤️✌️
250hp from a stock twin SU car? I find that a bit hard to believe, that's extreme race car tune for a 3 litre cast iron pushrod engine.
Indeed 150 bhp is closer.
The Healey 3000 mark 11a is undoubtedly the best of the range not the mark111 which was Americanized.I know.
I did the same side exit with my 64 Phase 1 BJ8. Didn't want to run it down the rear.
It looks way better as a side exit too. Epic cars
Nice video mate - something different! iPhone bringing home the goods too 👌🏻 What’s the deal with that circuit? Is it a public road?
Thank you! I know! Did you spot the lense flair. Bloody love that shot. It’s a private road so they can close it off but when there isn’t a race in it’s fine to drive about. Good for content:)
@@JoeTalksCars that’s really cool! Shame it’s so far away from me ☹️
Make the trip!! 🤣be good to collaborate at some point too
Is there a reason why both fog lamps are not fluted? The left is different from the right. I have a 1960 and it's the same thing.
one is a spot lamp and one is a flame thrower. 🤗 One for focus, one for wide area coverage. Original Lucas lamps.
This a big Healey. Try a Sprite, the small Healey.
I used to have a Midget which is similar and I genuinely preferred the size of this.
A polished wood dash on a sports car ~ I think not. Give me a BJ7 anyday.
Yeah I mean it’s not something I’d particularly want.
You mentioned it is for sale but not the price. I am sitting down. ;-)
Oooh I believe it’s £130,000 🤣
Hi Joe, This is what you should have instead of the Cayman. I sold my Cayman but have two of these. The further you drive it the better it gets. It is also far more reliable than a Porsche and much cheaper to run.
It's nicely done, a beauty. But not original specs. It's modified car. The exhaust, interior, engine compartment are all modified not to original specs or colors. A BJ8 would have a vinyl interior with perforated seats and silver metallic beading, for instance. The side exhaust will cause you to go deaf and the whole exhaust on an original car would be painted black so it it doesn't show hanging down below the car. Shall I go on?
Nah you covered it. Truely stunning car, I was under the impression it was more standard. Obviously mentioned the exhaust was not but ah well. Looks great either way.
I was always led to believe that the BJ8's were fitted with ICI "Ambla" upholstery and not leather?
Hey Joe , your just too long. What a peach of a car though.
Haha 😂 we’re people that small back on the day?
@@JoeTalksCars five foot two… “ yes sir perfect for you “
A nice car, but details are wrong everywhere.
Where?
Restored to not original condition. Not better than a new one.
I’m sure the guys that restored it will be able to clarify what’s been done👍
Next time can you show the care not your face
Learn to spell.
Nice subject but remedial presentation. Sorry but stick with your day job.
This was a while back. Stuck at this. Granted not the best but got to start somewhere. Feel like my new stuff is a little better
