Mech Action On A DVD Player - Iron Soldier 3 [Birds of Prey]

With the interest in the NUON DVD player/game console to the channel, here's another direct capture from a rare NUON game, Iron Soldier 3. This was also released on the PSX, although NUON did have some improved graphics. #retrogaming #dvdgame #videogame

Now that Atari owns the Iron Soldier, do you reckon we will also see Iron Solider 3 here get a re-release in some manner? Would be interesting.
2:11 - I find it hilarious that the enemy is parachuting tanks in against your giant robot.
3:12 - From what I hear, the PS2 was also a pain to develop for, so to have your console even harder to code for than it... Despite both being DVD enabling consoles, the sheer contrast in Nuon and PS2's fortunes is staggering.
6:34 - So the robot vs robot fight is a tad less exciting that one would have hoped. You end up so close up to the opposing mech that you can't really tell what's going on.
8:22 - Despite what should be an overwhelming power gap, having to track down and destroy the tanks and helicopters is more exciting gameplay wise.
11:00 - The game runs pretty smooth and fast, even with more large polygon tanks and ships zipping into view.

I wasn't aware of Atari buying Iron Soldier, if so, then I'd sure like to see an Iron Soldier collection and either a remake of the original or IS4.
Although I think that this game would be a perfect fit for an arcade machine - you'd just need some enhancements, such as a UI method pointing towards objectives, some voice overs, more streamlined weapons setup (perhaps with presets).

@@iratanongrata5973 I'm so used to learning about Atari info from you that I forgot that it was a Larid Lair video I watched where I learned of the Iron Solider purchase. Atari published a list of all the IPs they own a little while back (to which I saw a video on it) and Iron Soldier is an IP they now own. They could do a real cool Iron Soldier trilogy pack.
There's an Iron Soldier 4? I always thought it was the two Jaguar games and then the Nuon game.

@@grinbrothers Gotcha - I did cut a video on that IP list yesterday, I just haven't got a chance to finish editing it up - I did notice it was there though, which is exciting.
That said, there is something off about the list, which I don't know if anyone has talked about yet - some games seem to be missing, such as Malibu Beach Volleyball on the Lynx or Atari Karts and Trevor McFur on the Jag. It's a little odd...
