My absolute favorite subs. I’ve ran JL Audio for years. I started running them in the 90’s as a teenager. Worked my but off part time when I was 15 and saved all that money so I’d have it to purchase my JL Audio Subs. They didn’t have amps at that time or they weren’t sold in my area. I ran them on Fosgate Amps and they would absolutely slam. My last two systems were built using all JL Amps, Subs (W6 and W7), Mids and Highs combined with Audio Control Crossovers. Unfortunately due to my health now I haven’t been able to purchase a new system for my truck and I really miss the amazing build and sound quality. I’ve also really wanted a couple of their in home Subwoofers for my Klipsch surround sound system which is currently running 2 Velodyne subs. Keep up the great work and I’ll continue to support you and refer your products to everyone I talk to.
I used to have two the old school jl audio w0v3 three 10 inch power wedge box in a Ford explorer with 2 500 watt kicker amps. Back in 2001 and it hit 148 db! One of the best sounding systems I’ve ever had.
I love w1s I've got 5 10w1v2s on a Rockford T20001bd in a extended cab silverado ported tuned to 30 hz and it's way over powered but it's gained way down sounds great hits lows like I'd never expect 10s to hit .
JL's answer to a changing market is to increase prices by 200% while resting on the laurels of the W7 and the slash series amplifiers while constantly falling behind in equipment specs everywhere else in the lineup. Sure they make a decent product but I'm starting to get to ask myself more and more, for who?
I bought a 12" WOv3. I built a sealed box to the specifications listed in the literature that came with the speaker. I am a professional cabinet builder, installer. I've built many speaker boxes. I'm having a hard time finding a good amplifier to pair with it. I think I need more power. Can you suggest a good amplifier or 2, to pair with the 12w0v3. Thanks.
My first 12” was a single 12W0. No version just THE original. My friends chuckled when they heard it was 125W RMS. They stopped laughing when I hit 127.9 dB on a single 12 and won my division in my first and only sound-off. Won a dinky IASCA trophy and a 3 channel crossover. That thing was clean when it needed to be and slammed when was made to. You can buy entry level subs from any brand but when you buy entry level JL you are upper mid on everyone else. Save your money for something better like a W0 or W1, you will not be sorry.
I've had w0v3 12s before and they sounded good but didn't come that close to w1v2s infact I own 31 w1v2 subs of all sizes they offer. Even to this day w1v2 sell for more than w1v3 on the used market.
Power handling and excursion is similar between the two, but W1v3 has a more advanced motor and suspension design for greater linearity, lower distortion and greater accuracy, plus use a smaller enclosure.
I'm currently playing around with a 13.5 w7 ina 2.0 cu ft sealed box with 2x 12 inch boston gtr tunable passive radiators need to either make or find more weights one radiator I found only came with the 2 weights and the other one i found had none so i took one from the one with 2 and evened it out hits around 50 to 40 ish atm hoping finding or making more weights will lower that tuning sounds awesome for such a small box (only say that cuz I was running a stereo integrity ds4 18 ina 7.0 cu ft port3d box before this hit 30s to 20s no prob and with authority)

They sound great but they just lake loudness and authority and the w1 just sound deeper and more rich and full bass.
