The confidence and quickness you have while going through this video is inspiring as all heck. About to binge through your videos now. Thanks for posting something so fascinating on UA-cam!
it's quit simple 😁 you can use your multi meter and test continuity between your cicuts if you look at the trace you'll see some spots that have solder on these dots but nothing's there's those are for checking the traces but can be used for diagnosis and finding the area it should be dead parts will trigger the meter to buzz at you
I am currently running this amp in my vehicle, sounds fantastic of course 👌🏽. Small powerful amplifier. It's pretty surprising what this tiny amp is capable of producing. Thanks for the video. I can refer back here if I should ever run into problems.
Hi there barevids. I've been a long time fan of yours and I enjoy your content. Mouser UK will have the UCC28C40 as well as soon having the IRS2092. I hope that helps with your search for replacement parts 🙂. Arrow, Digikey, and Mouser will have most if not everything if you search all three sites. I look forward to your repairs in the future.
Thanks! The issue with these sites is postage. Even though mouser has a UK site, parts come from overseas. Same with digikey and arrow. The 3 suppliers I rely on are RS, Farnell and mercateo. I'll check them out tho and if shipping is sensible I'll stock up. Thanks! 😊
@Craig C - possibly bad filter cap(s). Could also be something else. If you're confident in opening it up, try to find any disfigured capacitor....hth. Otherwise, you may have to send it to barevids!!
Hey nice work bud! What kind of heat gun are you using there for desoldering the chips and resistors ? And did you make the fine point tip for concentrating the heat or that’s sold with it ?
When you hit your foot pedal to turn amps on for testing how many amps do use to switch them on? I see volts at like 12.x volt but what about current/amperage?
Wow what a pain, incredible work. If you had too (Because you can't find a replacement and/or you want more dependability) could you have simply bypassed that chip so it only uses remote turn-on only?
I have a slash JL 500/1 and it turns on but it takes time and then it shuts off. Can you give a guess what could be the problem or direct me what to look at if I open it up? Thx
You don't need to cut power to anything when you park. The 12v+ remote wire powers the amps on and off when needed. Unless you're jumping the battery or replacing the amps, no need to cut power.
I love both but , JL is a bit like BMW . They do the same job as anything else . They're over engineered for the sake of charging more money which just adds more complications to diagnosis and repair.

your channel has got me the confidence to start fixing on amplifiers Thank you for the inspiration Love the content keep it up!

Jesus Christ Sam! You’ve come a long way from what we used to be doing 😨. You’re insane! Keep doing what you do!
There you are! Hadn't seen a video in a while just about to check if I was still subscribed to the channel 😂
Absolute genius at work!
Thank you!!

I got the same amp. Bought if refurbished 10 years ago. It’s a great amp! One issue, when there is no music (ie mute), it’s noisey as hell.

I miss the live streams 👍
That is a bad ass shirt!! I dig!
you spin me right round like a capacitor baby right round! LOOL

Nah since the chip controls pwm for the z44n aux Mosfet 😔 could probably use a different pwm chip tho worse case scenario.
One reason I love my old school Rockford Fosgate amps.

Dude you're a smart fellow 👏
Bad ass bro!! Can you fix subscribers amps if we follow you??
Any updates on the DD build?
I got that same amplifier wasn't in use for a couple of months now it won't get any power was working perfectly
How do I fix the gain on my amplifier I can't turn it down I got to have it all the way up
Todos esos aparatos nuevos son un dolor de cabeza 😨
Can I send you my amplifier to get it fixed? It was given to me and it turns on but no out put. Need help!!! Rockford fosgate 1500-1bd.
Did this fix hold? Did you ever see this amp back on your bench?
Never came back
I have this exact amp and it appears my 1st and 3rd channels are not putting any output out.
Seems like the older Rockford Fosgate Punch 45,75,150 are like the small block Chevrolet of amplifiers. Stevie Wonder could fix them.
Can I send you my amp I have the same one same problem is not working
How u? Like ur channel where u located?
Been watching your videos for a while, now my Rockford amp has failed, how do I get in contact with you? Thanks
Are you in the UK?
@@barevids yes I am, in London to be precise
@@jayhussain9999 great, message me on my Barevids facebook page
What kind of multimeter do you use?
Random cheap one, lol.
QUESTION ,CAN I CUT ALL POWER TO AMPS EVERYTIME I PARK CAR ? OR IS IT BAD TO CYCLE THE RAIL CAPS EVERYTIME I PARK
Why you want to do that?
You don't need to cut power to anything when you park. The 12v+ remote wire powers the amps on and off when needed.
Unless you're jumping the battery or replacing the amps, no need to cut power.
How much do you charge to repair a jl audio 500/1v2 the power light comes on but can't get any sound from it
Are you in the UK?
you are tha man!!
i got same amp with the same no power showing up, do you take international customers?
I don't sorry 😔
Sir, Mouser has 2,400 of that chip in stock UCC38C40DGKR | Mouser # 595-USS38C40DGKR
Shipping to the UK is extortionate from mouser.
@@barevids I didn't even think of that when I found it.

A 24v amp?
Yep, lorry or boat use
What is that click clack sound everytime you test for voltage? Annoying!
Remote turnon foot pedal. I needed to see which pin changed in voltage when remote was applied and removed.
They use shitty as fuck quality comax switches even in their higher end HD series they are garbage for such great albiet expensive amps
I would not even touch that amp just like a Boston acoustics amplifier trash
Can I send you my amp I have the same one same problem is not working
