Chimera is from the Greek and uses the letter "Chi" which is pronounced as a hard "K" sound.
Speaking of "Games not out yet" Vault 13, Project Arroyo, Capital Wasteland Project, and F4NV look absolutely incredible and I hope the projects come through..
How about "going ouside"?
It's got everything that a hardcore fallout player needs: Crumbling buildings and road, polluted environment, roaming bands of raiders ready to attack at any moment, and that one guy who always looks like he's lived in a cave for the past 40 years.
So...Detroit?
I'll have you know that I'm that "one guy." I'm deep undercover for the B.S.F. Bigfoot Strike Force. My mission is to discover why exactly the aliens are so fascinated with probing. If they want to know what people have eaten, they could just ask. DON'T BLOW MY COVER! I've said too much, this never happened....
General moscow-ish area.
Loot sucks
you leave my grooming habits alone
Sees number one
Sewer counter immediately dings in my head
It's jank-o-clock.
Awesome video! I'm surprised you didn't mention "Encased." Definitely a hidden gem that falls right in line with fallout I think.
Chimera is pronounce KAI like Cobra KAI- MEERA
I'd also throw in:
Encased: A Sci-Fi Post-Apocalyptic RPG, UnderRail and Planet Alcatraz as decent fallout-inspired rpg's.
You Are Empty looks a bit closer to Stalker (or an early/worse take on Bioshock/Atomic Heart) rather than Fallout imho.
I loved encased. was really hoping it'd make the list. Glad to see it somewhere.
I was also sitting here wondering if Encased would make the list, it plays a lot like a Fallout game, and is a bunch of fun to boot, though perhaps a tad too easy late game once you're rolling with high tier gear, especially snipers. XD
I was also expecting to see Encased on this list. I'm still on my first playthrough and im 61 hours in.
With all the different starting options and how they effect interactions im assuming it must be massively replayable eh.
Was wondering why that one wasn't included actually.
underail, colony ship, insomnia the ark, that new post apocalyptic game set in australia, dust to the ned. come in this list is stupid.
If you want to play as a mutant pig or duck in a post-apocalyptic world, check out Mutant Year Zero.
Huh. Trudograd is on sale on Epic right now...Convenient, Jules!
someone actually buys games on epic. i just grab the free stuff and stay on steam. and yes i played games on epic but teir ui is just utter garbage and lacks so many features or hides them or is just utter jank.
For anyone looking for the song from "The Fall: Last Days of Gaia" (as I did years ago when I found the game)... "Darkseed - The Fall"
Your welcome... :D
I've played ATOM RPG, but not Trudograd, so that's a game I need to get my hands on. Mr Prepper was given away by Humble Bundle a while back and it was fun for a couple of hours, but a bit too repetitive for my liking. Definitely a fun list though!
Absolutely losing it at the freeze frame "Goodnight Sweet Prince". Well done Mark. 🙌👏💯
🤣 cheers brother
The Government in Mr Prepper is practically where we are now and heading
Mr Prepper is fun as hell, and has great replayability
There's a Colin Furze game?
The Fall~ I damn love that game. Also has awesome Easter eggs!
What I need is a game that has a very similar feel to FO4 it quickly became my favorite just because it's so far got the best settlement building and traveling with looting that I've found, I love thw idea of having to scavenge for resources to build my personal sanctuary to survive easier, it's thw closest to what I would think surviving after the end I can think of, because we would have to go out and find everything to build new stuff at home to survive easier better and more comfortable
I have one that is worth mentioning. One that i came across a long while ago, back when i was seeking big box copies of the fallout and wastand games.
Visions of Aftermath: The Boomtown. And old IBM PC game on floppy disks. Came out in 1988 and sees you attempting to survive a post world war 2 apocalypse. Believe it was more lf a resource management game but still.
Funny you mentioned Wasteland when that was literally the inspiration for the Fallout series to even have been created, so... Speaking of the board game of Fallout, it's both really fun and very hard and so called fans really should play it if they can. Congrats- you actually made a list of games I haven't played, but have heard of. Almost everyone tries making these "I guarantee you haven't played/heard of" lists and then always includes stuff I have played and heard of.
Cheers Jules, well done mate for all your hard work and legendary knowledge of indoor games!
I've been watching your shows for a long time now and I would be thrilled if you would do a list of "Best sport games we don't even know about". I know that your a sensitive egghead nerd but sometimes it can be productive to get out of your comfort zone! 😄 With all due respect of course! 😊
That outro was wonderful, thank you good sir.
Wasteland 2 and 3 are must play.
I dont believe no mention at all. ☢️
The outro is very appreciated! Thank you!
Nearly half of my vault dwellers have been named none
I play a Fallout like game every time that I eat too much Taco Bell and have too much beer. The mission is always to get to the bathroom before detonation. Fingers crossed....
Too true 😂
We become the embodiment of Megaton at that point lol
@@Einard They say that it takes 10 yrs off your life. But it's the last 10 yr
Hahahahahahaha, you just got a like!
@@tonyfelder8720 Instantly your like is my most prized possession. More valuable than gold and more loved than my woman. She doesn't appreciate my "game", and she doesn't appreciate the countless dutch ovens that I've constructed for her alone.
Day R Survival is a top down icon game in a post apocalyptic Russia for mobile. It has more in depth Survival, medical, and crafting than some console ganes. Huge download and steep learning curve.
By the way, Atom Trudograd has been ported to the mobile
My brother and I use the word Bethesda as an adjective for bugs in games, usually followed by the line "it just works"
BrOkEtHeSdA.
Bugthesda.
AtomRPG is definitely fun, even if it is just as janky as the classic fallouts and just as unforgiving when you make bad choices
I just want to say, including those board games was interesting and unexpected. I like Fallout, but not enough to have been aware of the board games. I think I would be interested in playing one of those.
Love the videos dude, Mon the Biff! (Sorry saw the poster!)
Saw them open for Muse at MSG years ago. Absolutely crushed it.
I’d also add Gorky 17 for that F1/F2 craving…
Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines, oddly, totally feels like New Vegas. Different plot and setting, but the actual moment to moment feel is very, very similar. It's six years older than New Vegas, mind you, so if you do pick it up (and seriously, everyone needs to play this sooner or later), be ready for some of it to feel really, really dated.
I wish they would come out with more Car Wars / Mad Mad style post-apocalyptic titles. Interstate 76 was fun... But it's an under-represented genre for sure.
Fallout is my favorite game series ever.
I can also recommend Fallout Wasteland Warfare. Its pretty much what Fallout Factions is being made for. Great for people who enjoy painting miniatures.
Well, that's one guarantee that didn't hold up longer than 1:16 lol!
Kinda surprised that the Silent Storm series wasn't on this list. Really good (although not without their issues) series of games that are often overlooked. One and Two especially,
Mr. Prepper was difficult to get into when I tried it. Was pretty buggy at the time but probably worth another gander.
You are right. I had never even heard of them, let alone played them.
Played both Atom games. Knew about and am waiting for a sale for Mr Prepper. The others...yeah, never heard of them. lol Do look forward to that CRPG one though assuming we don't enter the real-world apocalypse before it's playable.
P.S. Where is 'Encased' ?
Interesting , Thank You . I do like Mr. Prepper , I have played Atom Rpg . Thank You for the reminder that I missed much
No mention of 'Crusader No Remorse' which the original Fallout got all of its inspiration from
Appritiate the advice, but only Fallout feels like Fallout for me. (like Fallout 4) The looting, the world, the mysteries, the humour, the atmosphere is very specific.
Of course some aspects other games also use as you shared.
0:10 if Wasteland franchise is not #1 then I dont know who I am anymore haha
i actually have and have played Atom, and its expansion/Sequel Trudogard
Regardless of the content, your corner with the sound reduction tiles is what impressed the heck out of me
Atom RPG is definitely worth your time.
I'd have included Arcanum, despite it being fantasy its a similar system to the original Fallout games and due to someone from Fallout working on it, has a two headed cow.
I tear up everytime from Jules' outro
Love the new studio jules ,much love man
Are you having a giraffe mate, i was wondering what happened to you Jules, always liked your content. Peace
you are empty is a crazy masterpiece so thats a good rec
Thanks for the list, Jules. I love old games with jank. I love jank period. I mean, I played Tribal Rage to completion, and that's both post apocalyptic and horrible...and it's an RTS to boot. There's nothing wrong with good, solid games...but I don't really remember them that well. I remember the weird, broken ones a whole lot more.
Rage 1 is like fallout in a sense. But if we are real the world after a nuclear war is likely to be a mad max world than fallout.
ENCASED Rpg, missed that pretty cool one !
Jules just want to remind you that you are a massive legend (I would know) and that you have the support of people like me, your friends who are all around the globe and everybody is here to listen to you!
Cool Biffy Clyro poster bro
chimera is not supposed to have an "sh" sound, people that say it that way are incorrect and you are correct using the hard "k" sound.
Kye--Merra ! Like the pommy car TVR !!
I played "The Fall: Last Days of Gaia" with a friend of mine about 10-15 years ago (I think it came with some computer game magazine).
And YES: It was really janky
AND YEEES: The theme song...Every few years I happen to have the chorus in my head again...and then it lives there rent-free for the next few hours XD
I'm deeply disappointed that Encased is not on this list!
This fella is brilliant a use to watch him on what culture gaming ha
Death Trash reminds me of the 1990s Fallout games, but ACTION based and with Sega Genesis (Mega Drive) graphics.
I've played everything that's been released on this list and I'm not even mad about the lie, every one of these games deserves a few more minutes in the spotlight.
I literally just got done watching Mad Max and The Road Warrior yesterday. Watching Beyond Thunderdome today lol. Yes, wacky.
"What is the time, CV-11?"
You can't be a hardcore gamer if you only play video games
I really wish there was a good place to keep an eye for updates about that Fallout spiritual successor that New Blood is making. There's nothing for it on Steam to wishlist right now and their website doesn't seem to have anything about it, at least nothing I could find handily. I'm very interested in playing that one when it comes around.
There absolutly no way this muppet beat FO1 and 2
I own two of these and have actually played Mr Prepper. I've owned Trudograd for two years now, still haven't played it yet though
60 seconds is also great.
I would love to see a list with Persona like games
Came here for my Jules pep talk. They cut it out of your last WC video :(
I have a physical copy of You Are Empty around here somewhere. Getting it to run properly on modern hardware is more of a slog than the game itself.
What about "Colony Ship"? I haven't played it yet, but it's on my Steam Wish List and it's definitely Fallout inspired.
What a Glorious beard you rock there sir im so jealous! Thx for the video greetings from Belgium
Jules standing looks unnatural to me. I can not explain why.
I own the boardgame. It's one of my prized possessions.
VATS seems influenced from Outta Gas then
The fallout board game is so freakin fun!!! I have it set up on my table in my kitchen rn and decide to just play it periodically lol It literally feels like playing fallout in board game format, with mechanics from almost every fallout game, including 76! But not BoS. We dont talk about that game.
Oh and ill add a game to the list! Fallen Earth Classic! An mmorpg from 2009 so its not the greatest looking or playing for that matter, but is very much in the vein of fallout and have had SOME levels of good fun playing it!
I like the atomics bonds expansion, it's how the game should have shipped imho.
@@Savagetechie wholeheartedly agree! I shoulda brought that up lol I tend to play solo with 2 characters with only the atomic bonds rule set! it truly is just much more enjoyable that way! The main games biggest flaw is how the campaign could just end at the drop of a hat. You can actually finish campaigns with atomic bonds so yeah I definitely agree👍
Thanks, Jules, Take care of yourself too!
Lice, Jules? Seems like a treacherous proposition for Master Eggman.. let's hope they're renting beardspace 😂
So there are no games similar to Fallout? Just another day at the office, Falloutless 😢
Instead of listing an actual Fallout game like Fallout Shelter, for something very similar there is Sheltered or Sheltered 2. I can't speak much for their quality, but that doesn't seem to matter much here.
THE LEGEND
Is there a list for games like the FPS Fallout games?
Surprised Fallout: Equestria wasn't listed. Then again fan based Fallout games would probably make this video too long.
Instead of " souls like" its now " fallout like"
How does your background look more like a kill room this week?
When you mentioned “Other Fallout games” I thought you were going to mention the dumpster fire that was Brotherhood of Steel 😂😂😂😂
Sounds weird Jules not saying What culture
And we will all go together when we go... 😁☺️
Shout out to 60 Seconds and 60 Parsecs for a fan's Number 9 spot
pronunciation is a personal thing here we pronounce it (kimera)with the i hard
Huh, normally I look at a title like this video has and scoffs, but... I've not played any of those games. Atom RPG has been on my wishlist (and Trudograd is now, as is Mr Prepper) but that doesn't really count.
The Fallout board/TTRPGs are high on my list to acquire
Also atom is on steam with 9,000 reviews, so that one isn't quite as unknown.
Am I too early?
Well, you got the worm. We'll all have to watch you eat it. 🤷🏻♂️🤣
Jagged Alliance!
Definitely ky-mera
Any chance you could recommend more console games instead of mostly PC. Ps5 specifically but other consoles as well
Hey man heard you on the what culture podcast. I was looking forward to this video 👍🏻 all the best from Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺 👍🏻
You are empty looks more like half life rather than fallout but i'm not complaining.
expected Encased to be honest
