Nice but where is your commander? Killed by some sneaky khokol lmao. Also VDV are useless if there is no troops to hold the areas they capture, yes they are somewhat effective against Ukrainian conscripts, but not effective enough to make any land gains.
The idea of dropping yourself into an airport, with barely any support, suffering too many casualties against a force probably weaker than you, and burning the airport to the ground does not really look like a success. It looks like a mistake. If they did secure the airport, it could be seen as a boon. Logistics, deployment, and stuff, but destroying it? What are they? Guerrillas! If they were guerrillas, it would be praised as the underdog smacking a massive bulldog in the face but this! That's a shame man! How could the professional Russia strong army just lose a ton of its special VDV in an operation that ended up with a catastrophic mess!
And what was the point of any of that? They still took heavy casualties for literally no gains, hostomel has been recaptured by Ukraine and the vdvs reputation tarnished all for at best a "distraction" but more realistically for nothing
