Exploring the Abandoned Top of the Tower Apartments | St Louis

- Talk about everything left behind! The Lewis and Clark Tower ( aka top of the tower ) was built in the early 1960s North of St Louis and abandoned since 2014.
MUCH better footage of the restaurant floor plus apartments I didn't show in the first video!
Not to mention I showed practically no footage of me walking up and down stairs this time.
As was pretty clear my first time here, everything left behind in these apartments.
Way more happy with this explore.

I lived in the towers from 1998 to 2005...It was a very beautiful place when I moved in (1998)... My heart breaks to look at it now... It was a floor turning restaurant (steaks were the main food).
The floor rotated?

@@Lovet0124 No the floors didnt spin. The restaurant was famous for their spinning salad. There is a spinning restaurant in downtown St. Louis
@@Lovet0124 I thought you meant the entire restaurant spinning like the one downtown. There was a certain area in the restaurant that rotated
I worked there. It did not turn.
I worked there in 82, it was a very high class restaurant. The food was the typical steak, seafood etc. The salad was delicious, that my job lol but it was a pre-mixed with anchovies 🤮. That's what started me putting seasoning salt on my salads. Also the part that he's walking through used to turn. Back then the customers were the older elite well off patrons. It was not a typical restaurant. It was very prestigious.
I'm with the guy who would love to restore that landmark.
you may have seen me running through the back at some point then hahaha cause I remember as a little kid in the 80's going to see "uncle joe and gus" (no i'm not a rizzo) cause my mom and dad were friends with them.
Very sad to see things like this. The building is an iconic one and to just let it go is upsetting 💔
I use to live over there goin to the middle school down there, everytime I saw that place I had no idea it was abandoned.
My mom owned the hat/coat check at the top at the front of the restaurant in the 60's. I always heard stories from when she worked there about all the "big wig" Italians and Irish regulars. Thanks for sharing!!

I'd so buy this place and restore it.
No one has pictures or video footage of this place back then. Hmm, mysterious. 🤔 I would love to go back in time and witness the beautiful architecture.

Every room was a different color and was decorated like another country. Paris France room was my favorite. I'll never forget the fun everyone had on our 1st New Years eve. I think I drank a glass of champagne at every table. At closing time, they put me on the elevator and sent me down to my waiting husband. He missed the party. He had to stay home with our kids. I got so sick. So many fond memories of that restaurant.
They need to build more buildings with these walkways, wraparound, balconies...in case there is a fire at least you can walk outside. They just need an outside fire escape.

It was a pretty damn good restaurant owned and run by Joe and Gus Rizzo. It had wonderful steaks and italian from what I remember but then again that was from my childhood in the 80's

My dads side of the family owned the restaurant the rizzos I never got to see it but I wish I did.

I was a waitress on opening day. Fabulous food. Very crowded always. Saddened to see what has happened to it.
What a cool building! If the structure is sound you could gut it and make some serious cash with some nice apartments. Renovate that restaurant. Have a gym and Cafe up there. Wow!

Weird too that there was a target shopping cart in the first video, there’s not a target anywhere close to this building now. I wonder if there used to be
There was a target located off of Lucas and hunt not too far from there they are now turning that target into a good will

My Dad and his partners built that place.

@@Tom-V Very cool! I haven't gone in there for years. I got some real out of the way and unexpected St. Louis area stuff coming soon too. Do you ever do group explores btw? Im getting much more cautious about East Saint as I get older and wiser lol...it is a dangerous place and solo exploring can bring some anxiety there. Hit me up sometime if you ever want some "backup" , Im always down for some St. Louis adventure)

Right? I live pretty close since moving here and I've always been interested to know what the hell was in there. I wanted to explore it but I don't have time to be spooked by squatters 😂
