Bechamel is one of the five classic "mother sauces" in French cuisine. A basic bechamel is just butter, flour, milk and seasoning. Add some cheese to your hot bechamel and you have cheese sauce that makes great mac and cheese.

Wife loves mac-n-cheese, but honestly, a huge turn off not cooking in the bag. We do Jetboil food at home & may give it a try... Hey!!! Your about to pop off 3k!!! If im at home there are hiking videos on our TV..... PERIOD!!!! We absolutely love what you do & your our #1 guy. Keep doing what you do!!!!
Yeah I hear you. I believe this was my third RightOnTrek meal, and as far as flavor goes I believe the company is in the ranks to be the best as far as flavors go. However, with each meal my pot is left a complete mess and I find myself having to boil more water in the pot to clean it, and then I end up having to dump some of that water near camp and I don't love doing that either. I've come to the conclusion that these would be great meals to take camping (like in an RV or camper), where there's more amenities to help clean etc.. I don't actually know if I'll take one backpacking again.

That is the best Mac -n- Cheese for sure. But, I hate washing dishes in the back country.
Yep.. I've come to the conclusion that the RightOnTrek meals will be purchased for our camper and for eating meals where we have a spot to clean. I definitely "left a trace" (remember Bryce's story?) after eating this one.
I had the same problem, until I figured out it was French...sometimes you'll see an accent over the 'e'. Have heard good things about these guys but I am not a huge maker of backpacking meals typically. I'm too cheap ! That's a LOT of cheese...
Haha it was a struggle for sure. I think I figured it out, and it's a more difficult pronunciation that I initially thought. Yeah, I agree with you. As far as ease goes they're great, but sometimes a can of Nally's is worth the extra weight in my opinion. It was so much cheese!

@@DannyJSchaefer- no problem! Those Right On Trek meals are the best and the mac-n-Chz is my fave 😋. I’m not a huge fan of the seasonings but use them about every other time.
