They will come down but it will be from a very high point. we are heading for a £1 a day standing charge some thing that hurts low users. As soon as we stop following energy world prices then our bills will come down
the government don't care they do not have to live like what real people in this 3rd world country live like. no more for heating and £25 a week to buy food.
Watching this in my living room that's 7 Degrees C just now because I can't afford to put the heating on! I can actually see my breath in front of me... I'm going to be 60 next month.
Many homes in the UK are unable to have heat pumps because of the sizes of properties. These things are monstrous! They are annoying and don't work very well, so great job.
Electricity is 3 times more expensive per unit of energy than gas . Heat pumps are 3 times as energy efficient as gas boilers ,so they cost the same amount to run per year . Agas boiler costs 2 to 3 thousand to buy a heat pump about 15 thousand .
Politicians have been promising that bills will `come down` in any given area for decades - they never do. But, of course, the MPs who make the promise are long gone by the time the public wake up over any past promise.

Our last steel blast furnace has just been shut down because the energy is too expensive and not stable enough. Renewable energy is about 15% of energy supply. A heat pump consumes at least 3 times as much electricity as of normal heating today. If you can't run the last blast furnace you will not be able to run heat pumps on renewables. We have 800 years of coal benearh our feet so we don't need to rely on foreign fossil fuels. Dig it up and use it. Open the oil fields until they run dry and work on renewables to coincide with the end of our fossil fuels. How can she claim heat pumps are cheaper to run? They are a compressor for goodness sake. The cost of running a compressor outweighs the "efficiencies" she claims they do. Who let this brainwashed "useful idiot" near a microphone. Stop it.

The only properties they will work efficiently in are new builds with the high level of insulation. They never tell you how much they cost to run per year ? The average cost to install is between £12 and £18 thousand per household. They work at a much lower flow temperature of approx 33 degrees hence why all the radiator outputs have to be increased by 50% to try and get the internal temperature up, without the high level of insulation in the house heat pumps will not work efficiently.
I have a heat pump here in northern France. Unless your house is well insulated and has double glazing it won't be sufficient to get you through minus 10 and colder winter periods. Overall yes, a cheaper alternative but you need a back up plan. I have a wood burner. The government should be looking into pellet burners, a much better alternative.
Heat pumps will only work efficiently in well insulated homes. Running costs could be more expensive as these pumps run 24/7 365 a year. You also would, more than likely require a backup system as domestic hot water needs to be a certain temperature or you could have issues with Legionnaires.
keep your gas boiler, it would be absolutely ridiculous to spend on average 8k to get a heat pump fitted to maybe save 500 quod a year. I'm not a mathematician but it would take many many years to start seeing a return
They work but the lower the temperature, the more electricity they use compared to other energy sources. Pellet boilers are less expensive to install and work like gas boilers.
If you want to get energy bills down, bring the energy companies back into public ownership. Companies like EON are making millions in profit and paying their shareholders.
There's already been an update that bills will go up 50% more next year than during the inflation last time, so the will be £300 cheaper in 2030 but prices will go up during that time
