First things first - grab your headphones and a nice drink. This game deserves your time. I can't quite put my finger on what this game reminds me of, but I love it! Let me know what you think of this one (Mark)
SwitchUp endless ocean on Wii?
Pocket Dweller that's the one!!
The original Tomb Raider, very similar musical score.
Journey? Lol.
Is it a bit like Endless Ocean on Wil console maybe it reminds you of ?
This game is currently on sale £7.49 in the e-shop
IGN actually put 'too much water' as a con? It's an underwater sim. Be weird if there's walking around
Just a little joke. It's kind of my thing to put a jab joke at IGN in the negatives and also (spoiler) you do leave the water in this one.. (Mark)
@@SwitchUpYt Really? I kinda want it now. That's how you guys made me buy Horizon Chase Turbo at full price. Worth every penny, that one. Made me wish I can unbuy Gear.Club Unlimited
You do leave but not for long. If you enjoyed Flower and Journey then you would enjoy this. It's very short but I loved it. Super relaxing and some seriously impactful music. (Mark)
Leo Akin
IGN said Pokemon Omega Ruby/ Alpha Sapphire had too much water, back in the day. It’s been a meme ever since.
There actually is walking around, later in the game.
Can’t believe they have gone on sale for 90% off
I came to look up reviews of the game to find out what the catch is lmao. I’m surprised it’s only $1.99
Yup already have the ps4 version I might as well double dip at that price..basically I’m going to get it for free since I purchased the sniper elite 4 deluxe edition and I got 250 gold coin points.
THEY SHOULD PAY ME THESE CONTROLS CAN EAT A POOP SANDWICH.
Im sure this isn't switch footage!? and be warned the audio on this weak port is pure trash! Almost couldn't finish it due to huge crackling from ultra poor mastering....keep your £2
@@markharris9673 but it’s on the go...!
Still one of my favorite games. Can I just say it was an Abzu-lutely beautiful experience ❤️
I would love to have also Journey on the Switch, it is true that challenge is one of the main drivers for games but also is to allow the player to disconnect from reality and experience another live immersively.
Yeah it's one I would love to see as well. We can only hope! (Mark)
Looks like it runs great on the switch, glad the developers worked there magic on this as it chugged a bit on my ps4. Not quite up there with Journey but it's a beautiful little game. It is short took me 3.5 hours and I was exploring a lot but how many times have you spent £16 on a really bad movie for 2 hours. This is worth it and hope it jumps up the charts. Glad you guys took the time to highlight this nice gem
Yeah, it really does run well. Surprisingly so. There are a couple of frame rate drops, but it generally runs amazingly. (Mark)
So you would rec switch version over ps4 version
I just got this for $2.00 on the eshop definitely worth it for that price loving every minute
bought this on the eshop for $1.99, this review made me go for it! seems like a very interesting game. i'm a big fan of games that have such good audio. watched this review with my headphones 😁
I missed the sale ima go cry now
@@zaylek6568
It's on sale again now lol.
On a footnote, your absolutely right about choosing games you think your audience will enjoy Mark. there are so many releases a week on switch , whats the point of focusing on the shovelware? there are plenty of negative tubes for crap games.
i personally i enjoy watching videos on what i fancy purchasing, and also how games i already own on other platforms perform in terms of the tegra chip and my fave games in handheld mode.
there is plenty of negative sites on you tube if you want that.
Exactly, if it's a game people are interested in and it turns out bad then that's fine I'll review it. But as you mention, there are way too many games to review the shovel ware. Thanks man (Mark)
Jace instructed me to wear headphones and I’m glad I did. Just watching the review immersed me in this game and now I’m eager to explore on my own now! Wonderfully done Mark. It filled me with such wonderment.
Did Jace mention that word lol - ask him if not lol funny timing! (Mark)
YOU'RE CHEEKY! I like it!
lets hope 'journey' is released too...thats incredible
Headphones is the way to go! I love this game
I love the "See Yaaa" at the end of your videos. Makes me smile or laugh every time.
Just picked this up 12/21/23. 5 doll hairs on the eshop. Pathless was so good, couldn't pass this bye anymore.
I LOVE games where you restore/rebuild the world around you (there must be a name for that genre, but IDK what it is, PLEASE tell me if anyone knows, it's one of my FAVES, lol), so this game looks AWESOME for that, plus the colors and music and beautiful world around it! lol. Thanks so much! Really loved this review! Your voice is really relaxing, as is your style of reviewing! You've earned my sub!
Saw this today on sale in the switch online store. Glad to have found this video to finally make a decision in purchasing this game!
Keep doing what you guys are doing. It is awesome. Great reviews, great videos.
Cheers my friend, appreciate the support! (Mark)
Mark said lovely, Glen said pointless 😂 this is why I like this channel so much, honesty at its best. More Devs need to get their games released at £10.
Definitely do!! Haha cheers my dude we have a shed ton of reviews coming up as well! Happy days! (Mark)
i like the emphasis on the music from the video title! ... i really enjoyed this game play through... too late, if it came earlier to the switch i would’ve bought... but great video review as always !!
Add this to your sales list if you haven't played it. Absolutely incredible game for fans of journey and flower. (Mark)
A very well written review. This game is wonderful, I had a fantastic time with it and will definitely replay it again soon. Much like Journey, this game is what you make of it. I kept stopping for extended periods to admire the marine life and architecture of the city. Not everything needs to be high stress explosions and war and this is a worthy purchase. Thanks SwitchUp! ❤️
Omg the sounds sound so beautiful 😍😍😍
IKR! Just absolutely lovely music and experience in this one. (Mark)
Another stop and stare! This game looks phenomenal. What a great review and I think it's def. worth buying. I'm looking forward to getting lost in the serenity of this game and One I would love to let my kiddo play as well!
Hi Mark! Never picked this one up before, but knowing it’s from the people that made Journey, I know this is gonna be worth it!
Another Top Notch Quality review Mark, I agree with you about the visuals and that Superb
music, I found it very relaxing when I played it.
It’s the sort of thing you need after a stressful day to play with the headphones on in a darkened
room and a beer or maybe a glass of red and just immerse yourself in the game. 😊
Waiting now for the likes of My Time At Portia and Firewatch to finally be released.
Keep up the Great work Mark. ❤️
Yeah there are some great titles coming! Appreciate the comments! (Mark)
Your review inspired me to buy this game. LOVED IT! ... the most amazing part is that its based on the first tablet of the Enuma Elish, the Sumerian creation tale. There is supposedly a place in the sea called the Abzu, in which Enki was creating life, much like the Apsu, in which humans were created, but on land. ...that's what i've spent the last decade of my life studying, ancient astronaut theorist here. i have my own channel dedicated to this stuff, but... i just wanted to say thanks. I loved the game.
Oh man I just have to pick up this game. This short video alone is just stunning and beautiful. Great job Mark!
Thanks brother. Such a great artistic game this one. Shannon might like this! (Mark)
@@SwitchUpYt I think the two of us might just have to experience it together. This is one I could honestly just sit and watch like a movie!
I most definitely need to play this. Underwater exploration combined with discovery of an ancient civilization and I’m sold. Going to get Jace’s credit card. Merry Christmas to me.
@@shannonglover5444 hahaha excellent! You will love it, you're the arty one right? (Mark)
@@SwitchUpYt she's definitely the artsy fartsy one!
great review, Mark. really made me want to check out this game. seems to be a case where all things fall together in a near perfect way. the question on my mind the whole review was if there is ever a sense of danger or losing anything but as the review went on i got the idea. completely agree with the value score. sorry i have been out of commission for a bit. life has been bringing down the hammer. hope you guys are well.
Hey great to see you. Sorry to hear life is tough at the moment! Anything we can help with? (Mark)
This really is an amazing game. So glad to see you guys do a review on this game
You're very right Gambit. It's a special one this. Not everyone will understand it, but to some (us) it's a real treat. (Mark)
And that is why I trust your review..I hope other youtubers like beat, rgt, and other switch reviewers would do like this...its so much simpler and give a broader idea about the game that we would likely spend 60 bucks on.. Thanx bro... I hope you get more subscriber... . Maintain ur style.. 👌... Oh and I'm getting this game now haha
Great stuff cheers! Mark
A channel so nice, today they upload twice! Reminds me of Journey, but underwater.
Hehehe, a chicken with such great timing, he comments early using rhyming! (Mark)
This game is pretty and relaxing looking.. awesome review Mark 👍🏽😁👍🏽😁
Thanks Craig. I really enjoyed this experience. Something totally unique. (Mark)
Good review. I loved the developer's previous games, so I'll probably pick this one up soon as well.
If you enjoy this sort of game I think you should look into reviewing Forgotton Anne as well, because well, frankly I'm a bit disappointed by how few people seemingly have taken notice of this little gem.
Sure, the gameplay is nothing soecial, but the storytelling, music and visuals are all quite brilliant. Especially the animation was spectacular. I finished it in two evenings and absolutely loved my time with it. It was the perfect game to just settle down for with a hot chocolate and just get sucked into its world.
Agree fully. It's a very unique little experience this. Not everyone will relate to it, but for those who "get it", it's great! (Mark)
Excellent insight into this wonderful game. Definitely will be picking this one up.
Great to hear, makes it worth it. (Mark)
Thank you Mark! Got it on sale today :)
You're welcome! Mark
Just got this for £1 on the EShop. I've been curious about this one for a while and at that price it would be rude not to. It's completely different to anything else I've got in my collection.
Your review does this game justice. The game really clicked with me the moment I was swimming alongside a humpback whale and the way the music became more grandiose with that moment.
Thank you I really appreciate that! Perhaps consider subscribing if you enjoy our other content! Thanks again. (Mark)
@@SwitchUpYt subscribed and patreonage ;)
@@streamlap awesome stuff thanks so much! (Mark)
I've ADORED Journey, even though I hadn't had the chance to actually play it but saw a full walkthrough and I was so excited when I found out Abzu is from the same team that created Journey.
It's so common nowadays that all games have to have that element of non-stop action, but I believe that in these times that we're living in, with all the hustle and rushed itineraries, a slow paced game can be a really good thing to play. We can't be always in a rush, or nervous, or excited or scared ALL THE TIME. We also need peace, rest, and time to take in what surrounds us, both visually and auditively.
I'm super excited to try this one myself on my Switch Lite, and now that it's being on sale, it's a great time to get it and start enjoying it with an easy mind, at a calmed pace and taking in every beautiful escenary that crosses our way.
Thanks a lot for the review!
Great review.
yeh , i have this on another platform.. and journey , and flower, flow, etc. A big fan of the dev. looks like it runs beautifully on switch.
Abzu again reminds me of a game from the past , and the same feelings i got from that, i got from this, including what you picked up on in abzu..highlighting the destruction of the seas: Echo the Dolphin.
Yeah, I was thinking is echo but I didn't know if it was just because it was the only old underwater game I remembered. (Mark)
@@SwitchUpYt the only thing you could do except that cool backflip..was bump yer nose on hidden switches 😂
It looks so peaceful and comforting to play
Abxu is one of those games where i mot only completed it but i still go back and listen to the soundtrack
A lovely game. Mark
@@SwitchUpYt its pretty much in my top 3
Been keeping an eye on this since playing Subnautica
This is definitely better than that. (Mark)
@@SwitchUpYt I loved Subnautica but this looks great for similar and entirely different reasons. Thanks for the vid.
Blair Millar I thought you said Paranortical activity. Subnautica is awesome!
4:29 that part reminds me of Ecco the Dolphin with the whales! ♥
Recently these games have been pleasantly surprising, with indie/third party games looking as good as this... Great review:)
Yeah I agree, it's very cool when they can do this!! (Mark)
I've got this off the Epic store...for free too! This is such a wonderful and relaxing game. The music score is absolutely gorgeous.
Just seen this on the eshop for 90% off. Had to come to SwitchUp for the review. Seems worth it,especially for the cost of a loaf of bread!
I just bought it for €1,79... Never heard about it, just bought it on a whim. Best purchase in the last couple of months. Thanks for the review.
You're most welcome. Lovely game! Mark
Imagine if the made a mashup of this and “in other waters”
this game looks so cool, saw it on the eshop for £1.49 absolutely insane.
Wow guys you are reviewing a load of good games even if they are not the type I play I see appreciate seeing them and getting an honest review, this game is on my list Def
Hey Darren, thanks for watching we have some huge games on the horizon so it's nice to find some time for these smaller ones still. (Mark)
Hi mate, I see from the release lists many great n depending of type of game your into not so great games on the way busy Dec guys !!
I’ve played this game before and it is easily worth your money! Not many games like this are made anymore, which makes it a very unique get. I’m thrilled that it’s on the switch :) this is just an idea guys, but have you ever thought about making a weekly podcast? That would me an amazing thing to look forward to each week ^.^
We're looking at ideas for things such as a new roundup video where we talk about the weeks news (Mark)
That would be pretty cool. Like a weekly news show or something. I’d watch every episode xD
Wow, don't have any other words, just wow
Wow, for you my friend that's a big statement! (Mark)
Where you been brother!? (Mark)
Honestly I'm in Colombia, in the road, sorry for the black out, kinda difficult to communicate when you are in another country, will redeem myself in March, although maybe will miss my birthday (February 22) I'm really sorry for not telling the switchup family
Just came here to watch the review as its currently £1.49 on the eShop. Played it on PS4 but sorely tempted to grab for Switch for that price!
The graphics are outstanding! Superb🤓👍🎮
Good job to the devs
Thanks Raven, you're our seventh patron!! 7 is a great number! (Mark)
Very beautiful and relaxing game, just what I was looking for
Simply put its art. Not denigrating other games either. Just like there are movies and then there a Kubrick film. I felt the same with Journey. Playing catchup on SwitchUp reviews today
Hehe yeah we released a couple yesterday. Got another video out tonight as well! I agree this is art. (Mark)
I have this on my xbox ... it's amazing!
I just got it for 1.99 on the Nintendo store for my switch 😁😁
It’s on sale for only $5 right now until 9/26I think I’m going to grab it. Thanks
you guys convince me every time
This game looks and sounds like a well produced and beautifully made immersive experience, something I hear millennial seam to enjoy these days! 😝 In all seriousness, I hope it’s eventually released on a physical copy and I’m sure it will be. I’ll be ordering. Special edition for sure!!
Hehehe let's hope so. A physical version could have all kinds of added extra (Mark)
It's on 90% sale in EU, worth it!
This game is only in digital format?? or is there a physical format?
I mean!!! I don’t even know where to begin!! This game is such a beautiful experience!!! You want a calm soothing place to be in?? This game is it for me! Get your headphones on and get lost in the ocean 🌊
I bought this on the switch 3 hours before the sale ended and than completed it before the sale ended
The audio compression sounds awful and hurts the switch port a lot.
0:38
“Immersive” Ha!
I played this already on ps4, it was great. I played on a big screen tv with my headphones on, I'm not sure playing it in handheld would deliver the same sense of epicness.
Oh I played this exactly as you did. Big screen, big glass of wine, big snacks. Lights down low. It was breathtaking. (Mark)
Oh, it looks lovely. Not like that farming sim earlier in the day. Just waiting for a good sale and I'm getting this
It really is a delightful game this one, yeah that farming game is a different audience entirely. (Mark)
Leo Akin it’s on sale now!
@@martinetisanovic1094 thanks for the heads up. But just checked the US eShop and it's not on sale
Leo Akin oh no that’s too bad! I’m sorry! Then we will have to wait haha!
I keep forgetting to get this, heard it’s Journey only with water and I fucking loved Journey
Hahaha I feking love how passionate you always are. You're never a fence person. You either love something or turd on it from a great height and I like that. (Mark)
SwitchUp yup it’s very rare I’m inbetween because something is either worth my time or isn’t. That’s what I usually boil it down too 😹
Just ordered the physical version today from Super Rare
I've just completed this game on Switch and it is definitely underwater Journey (not that that's a bad thing). But my experience was slightly ruined by the music becoming very crackly throughout all the most significant scenes. Has anyone else noticed this with the Switch version?
If anyone is interested, this is on sale now in the UK store for £1.49!
Its on sale right now in the uk e shop
Played this on PC where I could actually use my $300 headset and 4k monitor. Absolutely beautiful game. The part with the giant pyramid actually inspired fear in me to a point where I needed to pauses and take my headset off cause I realized i was breathing heavy.
Love that, it's beautiful! (Mark)
Just picked this up as a physical copy from Super Rare Games.
Same here
This is currently on sale for £1.49 until 19th Nov 2020.
Downloading now ! Excited :)
How much are your cinema tickets?
Does anyone know if I can get this on the switch in Australia?I WANT IT SO BAD😂
So this is underwater Journey?
The most underrated game of this generation
though I'm not a fan of "walking sims" or plain exploration games there was another similar game I was suprised I ended up enjoying. Valley.
Its like Shinsekai in a 3D kind of way
Beautiful game
It really is!! (Mark)
Nice game but i highly recommend Endless Ocean on the wii.
This game makes me sleepy. The perfect game to play before hitting the hay
I wish there was a mobile port as well
shinsekai into the depths some review??
I would *never* so much as dip a toe into to ocean....to much going on in there. I would however like to play this game lol. Great review guys 👍
Haha nice one Cappy, I hope you will get a chance to dive into this one. (Mark)
I’m intimidated by the ocean as well. I think it’s beautiful but I prefer to look at it. I think this game will allow us thalassophobiaks to explore it from the safety of our living room!
@@shannonglover5444 You just won the language award for the day! (Mark)
@@shannonglover5444 haha exactly! Explore the ocean....from the comfort of our beds. It does look like a really cool game
Truly lovely game, except that you didn't mention how HORRIFYING it can be! I might just have issue with underwater, but felt so epicly betrayed by the game when that first shark shows up. Sad to think that Journey won't ever make it to the Switch, I think it's forever locked to PS.
Hehe I didn't want to spoil too much, buy you're right. I never felt under threat from the sealife myself, it was the"other" things I was worried about. (Mark)
PLEASE NINTENDO SWITCH BRING US “JOURNEY “
How does this compare with Subnautica?
Not played that I'm afraid. (Mark)
I forgot to mention... Its 15 dollars now
I'm not sure if I would like this or not. Because I always hated the underwater levels in most games. But this game takes place entirely underwater.
I was watching the eShop trailer last night and I closed the video as soon as I saw it quoting PewDiePie.
Now that I have Mark's opinion, though, this is going into my wishlist.
It seems very nice, but I wouldn't pay it so much. I'll wait for a sale far from SSB. :P
Hehehe yeah probably not their best quote haha! Thanks though, I appreciate the compliment! (Mark)
Omg, exact same thing happened to me last night!
I did the exact same thing a few days ago, hahaha!! I can't stand that twat.
Underwater Journey 😬
It’s only 1GB? Damn!
Great game. Mark
Yeah! I feel like having something this beautiful and immersive right in my face on my Switch will be perfect too.
You still can't be echo the dolphin Sega CD soundtrack
When you get an indie game that's not mainstream be in the top charts on the switch eshop you tend to wonder who and where they are. It feels weird knowing that they've kind of joined together into this comment section.
This is £1.49 on eshop right now
Hey
I'm guilty of what you say in the intro.
I have played games like this and the atmosphere is captivating. Unfortunately I cannot retain interest after a few hours as I want something to do (I dunno stomp on a goomba or something)...
If I am of need of Zen I can see this will be worth a purchase.
I like the positive spin in the puzzles, "although simple doesnt disturb the flow"
I feel for 3 hours for $20 USD and no massive challenge/variety, I dunno stressed me and on sale I can consider it
1.99 right now.
A game based entirely around swimming under water. IGN complain that... there is too much water. Hahaha.
This was just a joke 😂
