Thank you for an informative thorough video. I'm taking a basic computer troubleshooting class, and the class information tells us to ping without explaining why. This was very helpful. Thanks again.
The address you tried 192.168.1.5000 was treated as a hostname because it is not valid. The ping request never actually went out. If your server was down, you could actually get a response (meaning, only the particular service isn't working), get a destination host unreachable (server is completely offline), or a timeout because the packet (or the response) was droped along the route.
hi why when i wanna see if a host is dead or alive by typing in cmd ping the an ip address it will always say request timed out for any ip i type in.. used to work perfect few days ago now it does this thing..
Hi. I lost 100% when I ping gmail.com. It makes sense because all other websites are fine, it's only on gmail I can't access. Same with other PCs in my network. Do you have a suggestion on what to do? Your tutorial helped me a lot. It confirmed that there really is a problem with my gmail connectivity. TIA
Every 2-3 hours mine become request time out and then destination net unreachable. If i reboot the router then everything went back to normal. My config is router - switch - pc.
HI. THE VIDEO WAS GREAT AND YOUR ACCENT VERY NICE. I UNDERSTOOD WHOLE WORDS. MY QUESTION : WHEN I PINGING TO MY ROUTER (192.168.1.1) TTL IS 254. IS THERE ANY PROBLEM WITH MY ROUTER?
what if other website dont limit the packet you can send to them, does that mean it is vunerable to ddos attack without a bot? man that is a very dangerous command
I ping my router's ip and even other server ips, I get a request timed out and all packets lost yet I can still access the internet just fine however I can not access teamspeak servers etc. I dont know what the hell is going on.

Excellent! One of the best tutorials I've seen. Thanks
how about a video that explains what the various ping failures mean, like cannot be reach, transmit failure, etc..
Can you make more computer and networking videos? Good helpful videos
