Runs like a forklift . Hit the brakes but keep your foot on the accelerator to raise your forks or tilt . Nice machine . It has some great speed getting around the lot .
Thanks for educating us some more about the Kubota wheel loader. That has some great features I wasn't aware of. Perfect for a large nursery or landscaping company. I would think with the extra reach it would also be nice for stores such as Home Depot or Lowes to help load peoples various trailers plus you can move a lot of snow off of parking lots in a short time.
Keep on tractoring!
One of my favorite jobs on deployments were running 10k loaders with the articulated steering, shuffling Munitions components around. Nothing like moving pallets of 500lb and 2000lb bombs. I’d love to try one of these Kubotas out.
We want more r430 video!!! move some dirt! move a pallet of something that weights 2200lbs
Cool looking machine! It looks like you were really enjoying ripping around the parking lot on that sports car!
We used to run a laser plane behind ours , where a bobcat is a one trick pony tractors and articulated loaders can run a bucket and another implement at the same time and not tear the ground up while doing it
No Doug Score?? ;)
You win. I was wondering who would pick up on it.
Oh I picked up on it right after you said it... keep up the videos! Even though I’m not in your market, I do enjoy your videos.
Josh K was going to say the sane
Ok, you convinced me so I bought a brand new R640 from my local dealer. Generally, I am happy with the machine with two exceptions. 1. No throttle lock. OMG how on earth did they forget to include this important feature (or am I missing it somehow? I hope so. Is it an option?). 2. The articulating joint top bearing won't retain grease, but rather it extrudes the grease aggressively after only a couple of hours of operation. I can tell when all the grease has been "pinched" out of the joint because the machine starts "squeaking" and "squealing" at the joint to the point that you can not stand it. It's a brand new machine with only 34 hrs and it has done this from the very beginning. If this can't be resolved and is considered a "normal" characteristic I will have to sell this loader (because I don't have the time and/or money to spend greasing a fitting every two hours) and move to a different manufacturer (and one that definitely includes throttle lock capabilities - my bad for not verifying the R640 had it but I didn't even think to ask as this should have been a given with this type machine especially since it's so easy to include with the electronic throttle system). Performance-wise the machine does fine. My unit serves as a piece of farming equipment so we don't need much more in the way of driving speed but we do operate on bumpy dirt roads and have longer transport runs loaded which is why the throttle lock is important to us.
Nice units, I looked at a couple in Carlisle. Nicely layed out.
I did not operate one, but I hope the clutch cutout can be turned off!! That is most annoying when trying to inch in very tight situations. A few hours on the machine and that gets quite jumpy or grabby.
I know a lot of operators out there know exactly what I am talking about.
My work just got this model but it’s got a custom from end where it had the 2 stage forklift front our old machines the r420 are absolute beast took on anything hoping the new models will show the same results
Does Doug DeMuro know you’re stealing his catch phrase? Lol
You win. I was wondering who would pick up on it.
Messick's cool! Can my prize be a new hat? My John Deere one is wearing out. Lol.
but no Neil score?
@@hightower2537 Maybe she should score the equipment for future buyers... 🤔
@@hightower2537 he's the kind of guy that doesn't do scores 😁
Nice Doug Demuro impression.
Greetings from Poland with my R420
Love your videos Neil. Love the Kubota products, just wish I had a reason to buy more of it.
Great Video Neil - Very nice and interesting machine, too.
They really need to make one of these with legitimate high-flow hydraulics and quick attach for the front to run cutters, they would sell more of them if that option was effective. For trail maintenance and light clearing they would be very handy.
The R630 could do it easily.
Finally cant wait to demo one
I would have liked more comparison with the R530. Another advantage of the wheel loader over a tracked skid steer is that the skid steer tears up gravel roads.
You talked about tyre wear, you didn't talk about wear on the asphalt itself. If you own the building you're working around, not chewing up your pavement is also a big benefit.
I’ve run a r420 for a tree service, great machine for that. Do the SOC engines have many problems? How do they work because they don’t regen right?
rather than running a cycle, they are always burning. They run more EGR and are hotter than DPF, and overall likely less fuel efficient.
Oh before I forget to ask does the bucket lever have a float feature?
Or auto-leveling option (not to be confused with self-leveling, which the z-frame does)?
@@Zurar those i've run had both
good reach is important, most skid steers cant load bigger dump trucks
When do we get a Neil score? I don't know what categories you want to use, but you should keep the weekend score.
Are there any plans to update this model in te same as the two larger versions?
not for 2024. 2025 models are announced in October every year.
Man that a nice loader.😉 how its available in a smaller model?
What is the lift height of this machine. Can it load a full size dump? Very nice. Would be great for my hay company.
What’s your opinion on one of these for moving tree debris small owner/operator here. Looking at a wheel loader like this over a skid steer. Seems to be the much superior machine
Totally agree
@@MessicksEquip what would one of these run new?
Can you get turf tires for this machine?
Yes
Nice looks like lots of fun
Very good informative video. Like the video editing.
so wait, it's longer, similar capacity, slightly more expensive. You save some cost later on with less tire wear, but, I think I like my SVL 75 much better :)
Laid out like your typical payloader. Only real difference is hydrostatic rather the converted transmission. Does it have the shut off for the transmission disconnect. If it don't it be a real pain for certain specific application. I have telehandler that did have the shut off for transmission disconnect. I added it jerk jerk jerk. Couldn't use it to get close with out jerking
10 points for usability -5 points for practicality ( i have absolutely no need for a wheel loader ) lol
How high does it lift...Also cab????
Is there a hydraulic self levelling option for these?
i don't think so. i personally never even seen a wheel loader hydraulic self leveling only mechanical. call me old fashion even tho i am 21 i like the mechanical self leveling even on new machines i find hydraulic self leveling tends to drift.
@@phalanx3803 I'm guessing they meant to ask about automatic leveling, to put the bucket back to a flat grade. The Z-frame is a form of MSL.
@@Zurar ahh i am always use to it being called auto return to level. but that is a good question its more or less a stock feature on large wheel loaders.
Neil, How big a snow plow can that 430 push, and will Kubby come out with a heated cab ?
There is a cab version already. 84" on this one probably, bigger on the larger models.
How high are the bucket pins? We need to know how high of trucks can be loaded. Who's the lucky customer that gets the tractor that you just reverse and drive dropped 6 times
Is there an available pallet fork and/or grapple attachment?
Sure
Why do kubota don't make the wheel loader hydraulic auxiliary connection to operate Harley rake , boom or any other attachment like skid steer or ctl ? Put high flow or standard flow
They do. See R630.
What a beast 👍
how much with cab
Any plans to do a video on the new M4?
When I get one
Too large to replace a medium frame skidsteer. Still a very cool machine though.
you should callab with doug demuro and maybe give a Neil score
lol i didnt even see the end till just now
Neil is the kind if guy who would drive his son to preschool in a tractor...
That would be amazing. I could have when Doug lived in Philly. I'm sure he is not going to cross the country for me.
@@MessicksEquip tell him he can review a giant combine or tractor ; )
Can a non slide backhoe be mounted on this?
No, just 1 option.
You could just get a backhoe that can slide and not use that feature
Sadly slide hoes have no out riggers so it is useless to those of us needing true out riggers.
Kubota is making a huge error in marketing not having a real backhoe option.
? Confused. If anything a side shift is more flexible. No downsides?
Lift up on the throttle when changing directions. No point in abusing the transmission!
Do those have a can as well?
Nifty gadget!
So dock only means what?
No dpf then?
A DOC is basically a DPF that does not burn. Rather than going through a cycle, it runs hot all the time and uses EGR to meet emissions. One is not better than another, but the DOC should be more tolerant of idling at the expense of higher engine temperatures and fuel use. (I think)
@@MessicksEquip oh, can't escape the emissions man!
I got the Doug comment
What kind of money , Neil ?
Now that's an odd looking duck
they should build a sub compact version of this
You would be leaving Kubota land to do that.
Yea dose that have a auto leveling option?
With bucket and counter weights I’m guessing it’s around 3,000 pounds?
more like 9,000
Was so bummed to learn it doesn't come with a block heater upon picking it up
not needed in all but extreme northern climates. About $75 and 30 minutes to install it.
Good review. Needs a bigger wheels and bigger hydraulics
Two larger models for that
Kubota M4 some time soon?
As soon as one comes
It’s a funny looking machine. But it might win some races.
Same pedals as a diesel or gas forklift truck
Doug!
I think quirks and features is copyrighted 😂
It certainly doesnt have the lift height of an SSV.
Should be totally legal for street. For Los Angeles. Huh?

Doug 2.0
Put your seat belt on 😜
Neil demuro
Doug is my hero
@@MessicksEquip he'd be proud.
Neil, we love your videos too much to see you get hurt. Please use the seatbelt!
These are quality machines but sooo ugly...
Does it have high flow option
No, but if you really needed it the R530/R630 are significantly more flow.
