Knowing that Sisyphus got to Tartarus by trapping Thanatos for 6 months and has spent the whole time since tortured by the furies (including Meg) I can see where the bitterness towards those two stems.
For a moment I thought "consorting" had the same sexual implications as it has in my languaje where it is usually used that way... Had to make a quick search.
I think Supergiant Games chose that word very specifically, because "consorting" CAN have a sexual meaning, and it often does, but it can also be used to mean having more innocent social interactions. Since in this game Zagreus can have a romantic relationship with Megeara, or Thanatos, or both at the same time, or neither, it was fitting to use a word that could simultaneously refer to a romantic or non-romantic relationship; regardless of what relationships you've chosen, the dialogue here still makes sense.

What happened was that Dionysus wanted to prank Orpheus and told Zag to tell him something crazy like they were the same person. Zag being the fun loving lad he is told orph the real world myth. That him and dio are the same person. The myth goes that Dionysus, was the son of Zeus and Persephone until one day he was ripped to shreds and dismembered by the titans, only to be reborn. Zagreus is the god of wine, rebirth, and hunting. He is very much linked to Dionysus, Greek historians even calling him the first Dionysus (because most of mythology, or in this case Greek mythology, came from a preexisting god who were associated with one or more god we currently know). For example, Poseidon was said to have been the god of the underworld and the sea before hades popped up in the mythos. Anyway Orpheus, completely fooled started making songs, those songs eventually made their way out of the underworld and got into the hands of humans. And that’s how the myth started. Zag did try to tell Orpheus that he was only joking but it already spread to others. He thought it wouldn’t get out of the underworld since Orpheus only sings to a small group of people but as you can tell from real life, he was wrong. I believe there were other myths that he created but this one is the most prominent in my mind
