As a 12 year old with a paper route back in 72 I saved up my money to buy an original Honda mini trail back in the day for $ 350.00. My parents said absolutely not, so I settled for a used Yamaha Mini Enduro for $ 125.00. Now that the originals in mint condition sell for stupid money, I think this will do just fine after a few mods. Thanks for sharing

My friends and I had mini bikes and most had the CT 70 p. I had a Rupp Roadster 2 which wasn’t as fast but had a CVT which Rupp called torque converter or something like that. The CT 70 had a 3 speed with no clutch and a 4 speed with a clutch. Anyway my brothers had a Kawasaki 90 dirt bike and it had the 4 up with neutral at the bottom.

Good review. I have the green one and a blue one. Also have a Amigo version. The Ice Bear is higher quality. These bikes are SOLID and been SOLID runners, but you have to do your own dealer prep. I prefer the auto clutch over the manual. The shift patter is also better. The engines are ROCK SOLID. The one thing with the engines that I recommend is the plastic cap that covers the air screw on the carb needs removed with a pointed awl.and then adjust the air fuel screw to about 3/4 to 1 turn out from bottomed out gently. The reason I say this, is because my green ice bear was set at two turns out from the factory, and the blue Ice Bear was set at 6 turns out from the factory. Remove the plastic cap with the awl (pointed thing) and you can get it dialed in fast. A set of Honda decals, raised front fender (I used Hillman fasteners from the hardware store) and trimmed about an inch and a half off the back by the cylinder head, and added bigger tires (I used Maxxis) will make it look and perform awesome. A Nice shape Genuine Honda CT70 is going for about $4000 now. Screw that. The tires I used on all three bikes were the Maxxis M6024 Tires 120/90-10. I used the Ice Bear tubes. The shifting really smooths out after breaking in and putting on some mileage. I'm using the same shocks on the rear. Nice improvement. I ditched the heel toe shifter for a folding tip version on ebay, and a kick start lever that is a strait version rather than bent version, that way it doesn't contact the exhaust. Also replaced the air filter with a Uni-Filter. I also recommend removing the two legged stand. It hits everything on the trails but the lottery, and can easily be put back on. Break in oil is break in oil. New Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, KTM, etc bikes will have dirty oil too after break in. No worries. Want to go fast. The Zongshen 190 Anima is a solid 25 HP and revs to 15,000 RPM's and will make that a total death machine. 70 to 80+mph.

Check the centrifugal oil filter for a grey paste like material.

They are fun bikes to ride. The problem I've seen is the tank is full of junk from welding tank together. If you don't add inline fuel filter before running out of the crate. You will plug up carb. On mine the pet cock even plugged up with what looked like flux from when tank fabricated. Hard to remove tank to clean out. If you can remove old gas with small hose a vacuum out without removing tank would be better. Only thing I've done is put kenda tires on it. Made a world of difference in the ride. I did't change shocks the stock tires were crap.

Not a Grom. A Honda sticker doesn't make it a Honda. People who judge a biker by what they ride don't understand what riding is. Any bike, the first thing you do is change the oil first before mile one. The oil they use assembled is oil in name only. Most bikes may have a few metal flakes on change one, and the internals "run in."

I'm at about 600km on mine. The first issue was that the chain popped off about 50 miles ago, but I put in back on at the side of the road, tightened it up and no more issues. So, 500 to 600 kilometers need to tighten the chain. Also just changed the oil for the first time, and frankly it didn't need it. Granted I was running Motul 10w-40 4T. Side note: it doesn't have an oil filter 😬. And my front brakes effectively don't work, that could be my fault, not sure. I've been riding motorcycles 30 years, and I will admit that the semi automatic transmission with the reversed gearing he talked about really takes some getting use to. The worst part is the downshifting. Takes a lot of practice. BUT, for the price... I strongly recommend this bike! I've had a blast just cruising around town. I have a Z900RS, an urban camo KLR650 and a 1978 CB550 in mint condition. But the bike that turns everyone's heads is my damn Chinese 125 🤣, I got the blue one. Everyone wants to know what it is and where I got it. 👍

I enjoyed the video. The most common issues are rusty gas tank and sloppy swingarm. Here's a link to a swingarm video from Minibike Mike's Garage. ua-cam.com/video/C8MSTqPMmG4/v-deo.html
I share this because the information would of helped me. I weight more and have done a lot of "money shifts." It had its toll on my swingarm.

Thanks for the helping so far my gas tank has no signs of rust the swingarm does have a little bit of play so I think I need to at least start with mini bike Mike's mods my starter almost fell out yesterday
