I lived in the hood before…and would throw the trash away…but in the same day somebody is just going to throw more trash on your lawn….it’s a lot of foot traffic so the walkers just throw the trash on the ground and the wind blows it into your yard…I stopped picking it up everyday because it’ll come back within the hour…..I end up just picking it up some days or when I cut the grass. It’s annoying and there’s nothing you can do to prevent it….you can be the perfect citizen, but you’ll have neighbors that will mess shit up.

EXACTLY...!! And I’m from this area in the video.... Its not the neighborhood itself that makes bad people, its the bad people that turn a neighborhood bad and run it down.... That said, some of this is still damage from hurricane Katrina 15 years ago... After the hurricane, they
built some brand new beautiful homes here and gave them to some former residents. Well, you know what happened right? In 5 years time, most of those beautiful homes, were run down shit holes you can’t give away... And they got those homes for free! And still!! Smh. I was born and raised in this area, and left this area. Other parts of New Orleans are beautiful, and the people that live in those other areas, take care of their neighborhoods.

After Katrina the city of New Orleans just was never the same. That's when all the focus was on tourism. Every bet of money goes into catering tourists.. Roads are fixed up only for the rich and popular neighborhoods. Locals are slowly being pushed out to make way for more air BNB"s. They destroyed the Treme area. With outside money buying up property for short term rentals. Kicking out families that lived in neighborhoods for years. It's not the same. So locals have no choice but to take what they can get. The struggle is real. The rent is high . The city's resources aren't as good either. Much worse sense covid. Local businesses and family owned businesses end up being pushed out. Losing that local community feel. What we have we try keep. Hanging on to traditions and our spirit. Seeing this breaks my heart and I start to think of how the city once was. Katrina flipped the script for sure.

@@thomasjones516 Just came from nola recently. Never visited before. The city looked like crap, even saw dead people, was a total cesspool full of gutter punk trash trying to pass themselves off as ‘artists’. Saw lots of racism, many homeless, lack of police and terrible streets. The whole city was hood. Even the so called good parts like lake view were crap. Met several airbnb owners too. Many from california, lots of them were trash and it was clear that they were there to exploit the city. Many were racist and pulled the classic, black men are invisible act. Also met arrogant artists, like the one who puts the crappy fish around. Again, quite racist, arrogant transplant from california. Was not impressed. There was an air of desperation in everyone. Also the denial of how horrible it is there was off the chart. Saw the levees, the water was very high. It made me feel uncomfortable. The place is a disaster waiting to happen and looks to be doomed. Sorry, I don’t have any attachment to the place. I call it like I saw it. I went everywhere and I didn’t see much difference. It was a 3rd world country, it was depressing, dark, hopeless and full of hate. Even the musicians seemed desperate. The streets damaged my car. It was horrible and so sad that this situation is actually a part of the usa. Not sure how long the city has left but the next time it goes under I feel that it will be the last time. Its doomed, no matter if the people there want to accept it or not.

It is so sad to see neighborhood after neighborhood in New Orleans so decrepit overrun with trash, weeds, abandoned cars, dilapidated homes and businesses, pot holed flooded streets, even neglected infrastructure like bridges and overpasses. Where is the tourist and tax money going if not to repair streets, pick up trash, and mow and maintain grass and weeds on public streets an property? Where did all the government money from Katrina go? Is anyone being held accountable for this urban squalor? Are city officials and employees just collecting a paycheck and returning no work product? What the hell is happening to the inner city of NOLA? It's like the forgotten city.. Then they wonder why crime has escalated to historical records. I'm sadden and angry by this neglect.

@@BatmanPops Southern Comfort was actually based on a true story. Many of the movie scenes were factual but were taken out of context and made somewhat fictional. In real life it was a military experiment. They wanted to see how sociopaths and psychopaths and dissociates would function together as a unit. It was "an experiment that went terribly wrong in the end" is how it was stated. Five years after the incident the squad leader's father demanded to know what happened to his son but the military would not tell him since the experiment was classified. So he spoke to investigating reporters who then investigated and it made the news. When it made the news the military then opened up with the father and the father learned what happened. His son who was a sociopath/psychopath basically screwed up and got himself and others killed. The father then asked the military to debrief the incident. The incident was already debriefed meaning the records are filed away and forgotten. I was a Marine when the incident happened. I know all about it. I in fact am a dissociate. I have amnesia and I forget things too.

Cops are best to be avoided if impossible both compliance and vigilant protection of your rights are necessary.
"What crime have I committed? I don't have to ID unless you have reasonable articulable suspicion that I've committed a crime, was committing a crime, or was about to commit a crime." Nine times out of ten he'll say something lame or that he doesn't have to tell ya, but he'll conjure up RAS by copsplaining later.
"You realise it's safer for BOTH of us if I don't get out of my car. There's plenty of room to conduct your business on the passenger side." But you'll have to get out anyway if he orders you to.
"I don't consent to searches." Usually you'll have to under duress let him search your vehicle or frisk you anyway.
      "I don't answer questions."
      "I want a lawyer."

The condition of this place indicates a critical need to put money into infrastructure and to improve roads, bridges, and sewage fascilities. All those water puddles means we have a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Getting around at night must be real hell because I did not see a lot of light lampposts. It appears to be a working class neighborhood with only a few unserviceable homes. There were very few dump ares with wrecked autos. I see this as a potentially useful low income place with many hard working families. There does remain a few areas where the place still has not completely responded from the Katrina disaster.
