However, obd11 "hacks" are not of much value in my opinion, because that information is generally available. Physical retrofit guides reveal much knowledge that is not generally available, so I find much more value in them. Just my personal opinion.

Hey, a friend of mine has this on his Q3 (8U) but there is one issue which we couldn't resolve - to hear the music, the media has to be in 'AUX' mode but then the steering wheel prev/next buttons are not working. He can control the CarPlay via the steering wheel scroll button but this only controls the selector - so in order to change song you must place the selector on the next button on screen. Is this expected and can this be fixed?

Sorry to bother again but i have a question ; on my previous car - a golf 7 - i installed an aftermarket aliexpress head unit and that thing burned through my battery...was a large consumer and drained the hell out of my battery in short amounts of time (sub 2 weeks i refunded)....does that problem happen again with this device on the q3?
Hi i have just about a q3 62 plate it has the nav button like in tour video but navigation doesn't work as we are outside of japan would this work in my car? Thanks

I have installed it just like you did. But sometimes after my car is completely off the module turns back on and connects with my phones android auto. It have killed my car battery a couple of times. Did you have the same issue? Is it the wifi antenna perhaps? Also a Q3 with rmc
@@mrfixpl for two reason: maintain the factory main unit and don't coding the new one. Unfortunately i didn't see in carlinkit site a compatible VW unit :(

Hi, my AMI AUX port is located in the centers console armrest. Did you need to use the aux chord adapter to get audio?
No, it was not required, since signal from that port is connected via the quadlock to the main unit.

Using it ever since and very happy with it. Sadly I don't have experience with Android phones.

I have the same but on mine OEM Reverse camera don’t work at all any suggestion ?

This device should work in all region variants of RMC system.

How do you enable AUX IN on RMC? My model is the same but I don’t find It in green menu.

I believe they have a box for A7 with RMC. Not exactly this one (different control panel) but there should be dedicated box for your setup.
