Oh wow! Thanks so much Denver! That really means a lot 😄 especially seeing how much I’ve learned about colouring from you over the years! Greatly appreciated 🙏🏻
@1:42 Jordan mentions that there are no snapping features. To turn on snapping for graphics, go to the View menu and select "Snap in Program Monitor". You can also choose to show rulers and guides from this menu.
Toward then end (from 15:15 on), Jordan shows how to make sure the styling is cohesive. The method he shows is fine, but you may also consider making Text Styles out of certain layers and then applying those Text Styles to other layers that need the same look. For example, you may create one Text Style for Headers, one for Titles and another for Names... and so on. This way you can assign styles you go and any changes you make can be rippled to other layers with the same style assigned. You can also use your styles later for other rolls and more.
Very helpful. Thanks. But can you show how to freeze the roll? There's start off screen and end off screen. But how freeze the title when the text is in the centre?
Thank you so much for this tutorial its such a life saver! Im using premiere pro for the first time for my first film project. I've been frantically searching up how to do this. This was so helpful and easy to follow 😊
This tutorial (and the others too) is TIME and LIFE saver... Just one question tho... Is it possible to freeze the roll and make it restart, if for example i wanna highlight the last credit ? Thanks in advance for your help I've been spending hours trying to find a olution :)
Fabulous. Thank you! You saved my big graduation video project with an enormous scroll of almost 1000 lines. The key, for me, was doing everything you said between 4:00 - 5:30.
Hey Jordan, greetings from Jamaica! Great tutorial!! I'm having an issue though: when i click and hold shift, I am not able to move the text box at all. Any advice? Thanks again!
I always come back to this. So informational, truly a step by step walkthrough of your approach to the process with a ton of different ways to tackle the issue. Thank you so much!
Thanks Jordan for, sharing some tips how to create rolling in premiere pro and big thanks to Motion Array team I visited your website finally i got all Assets needed for video creation I'll always support this great channel cheers
Thank you so much for this amazing video!! I've learned so many good tips! Small details that makes all the difference in the workflow. And the explaination is so clear. Thank you!
@@MotionArrayTutorials Too funny. Shows to go you how much video editing i do these days! when i do, there aren't titles and things ( the courts disapprove so...) Now that you've shown me how to do it this way Im sure Adobe will come up with something different!
Hi carriex2. It depends on the specific font you're using. Some fonts have a lot of styles and others have little or even just 1 version. The font I was using had a lot of variations
can someone help me. If I make rolling credits. I copy from a word file and paste it into premiere pro. Then when I export the video. Then the credits are just frozen they don't run. I've tried everything what am I doing wrong. Choosing different video formats doesn't help either.
Hi Mango Film, Have you tried exporting and seeing if it's baked into the footage or just a problem with Premiere? Sometimes visual things like that can happen but are just showing up in Premiere and will not show up in the final video. If it continues I would experiment and see if trying to copy / paste it into a new sequence or even a sequence with a higher frame rate makes any visual difference. I haven't run across this issue but that's the first thing I'd try.
@@MotionArrayTutorials ua-cam.com/video/h5UUkltORsc/v-deo.html If you just watch the first 20 sec, you´ll see the text jittering at least with a big monitor. On a cell phone, it´s hardly noticeable.
Question, regarding making a scroll over picture (composited) would you do all this on black, and then key out the black, or is this an alpha channel situation?
Hi LaJewel, I'm not quite sure I understand your question. Did you mean the black that is behind the text? I did not set a black background and it's technically just alpha as I wasn't planning to export with transparency, but you could certainly do either
Do you have any idea what might be going on here? Built the credits just like you did; they look great; turn on the roll; render the clip; it 'appears' to render, but on playback title roll is not rendered. Even exporting the timeline doesn't produce the roll. Interestingly I have another set of credits that DO render and work, but not a second set. I've modified, toggled, reset, changed settings, nothing is working. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Should have expanded this tutorial into showing the Master Styles function if you were going to have a master pass to consolidate all your text styling!
Hi MrCJBG, yeah I would have loved to go more into Master Styles. Sadly I felt like the video was already very long at 17 minutes, but you're right it would have been helpful to go into more detail
Very interesting. One question though - in the Cast list; what is a villian? Mind you it is not as bad as one of the last video's I did which had a spelling mistake - of my name!
Hi Mattia. Sadly not to my knowledge 😢 I can't think of a method that would work beyond keyframing that particular image on top of the credits as long as the image is visible on screen
Hi Kristan, sorry to say but this method only works with PP versions with Essential graphics 😢 I'm actually personally unaware of the method to doing this without essential graphics
Ooh, thats a great idea. Sadly its not possible to add a full logo inside of the text scrolling feature so you'll have to manually create an empty space in your credits and add the animation (preferably as a nested sequence with transparent background) to the location and manually keyframe the position to change at the same speed as the scrolling text. Not the most fun solution but that's what I'd do personally
Credits seem like the most boring mundane thing but what you have done is a gift to the world. Thanks Jordan for sharing this really cool tutorial!
