the e60 and any model after e39 are too complicated. they are like modern laptops on wheels. a v10 block is great and awesome but as the car as a whole package then the e39 wins hands down. and looks the best!!

My dad had one of these. He put a BMW decal on the top-left of the front hood and put some Hartge wheels on it. But, he sold it two years ago for a 2015 f80 M3 DCT. I still like the M5 better.

The e39 m5 was released in 1998 but there was a misunderstanding and he thought he was referring to the e39 series which was released in 1996. He was correct.
I like the fact this M5 ain't no garage queen. M5's are built to take abuse. Used to be the world's fastest production sedan in the world. Now it's a mere footnote in BMW history but to find a nice one is to discover what hey mean when they say" BMW. The Ultimate Driving Machine".
