UWS-4 Stuffing: Part 2 Landing Gear
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- We need a way to land the UWS-4 Ultralight Airplane so in this video we will use Dan Raymer's book "Simplified Aircraft Design for Homebuilders" to design our landing gear. Will we have Tricycle or Tail-Dragger landing gear? Where should the main gear wheels be located? How will we steer the UWS-4 as we taxi? These are the issues we will address in this video.

Excellent!!!
My preference is for the larger diameter tire if you anticipate doing off field landing, the larger tire will also give a bit more shock absorption. Use 2-ply tires if you are on a weight budget.
Thank you for the feed back. I've been going back and forth on this one. My intention for this plane is to only fly on paved or well maintained grass runways which is why I'm contemplating the 13in tires. But 15in may be the better choice in the long term.
