You are pronouncing it right, its said just like weird. It is the symbol for fate, as well as how everything is tied together. Such as me, a Norse Pagan, looking to get into leather working and this video is in my suggested just 8 hours after it was posted!
I really enjoy your videos, and I usually learn something from EVERY one of them. Thank you for putting them out.
Had fun watching this. 👌🏻👍🏻
I like watching you work. good job!
OLD Leather Smith here, excellent job, easy 4 a beginner 2 follow. Please have a merry Christmas and a Safe NEW YEAR GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃
Nice
WYRD is pronounced "We've been trying to reach you about your longboats longwarranty"
😂 Best comment of the day!

That's a beauty, Great tutorial. I'll give it a go with some leather I skinned off a discarded sofa, it's already aged/weathered from use. i.e. fat butts bouncing on it.
super cool pouch Daniel...love stuff like this...only super nit-picky point I'd make is that if we're doing videos on Ren Faire/Larp/Cosplay stuff, to make the music a bit more period appropriate...again, super nit-picky I know
I usually do! I completely forgot this time!😅
Wyrd is the norn Urd in Norwegian :)
Nice to watch you going back with the rope to keep it even. Can you cover go to leather stamps? And list the numbers and why.. i love the double edged bevel. Which will end up costing a fortune in Finland. Could you also make some leather weights bags for weighing your piece down when stamping.
Great idea!
Here is a video on some weight bags: ua-cam.com/video/GtvHww8YwAI/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Great video. You were pronouncing it correctly. It is wyrd is pronounced weird.

This is a really nice design! I couldn’t find the double sided beveler in the list of tools, does weaver carry them?
Here you go, it's called a Figure Carving Tool on the website: www.weaverleathersupply.com/collections/viking-coin-pouch/products/figure-carving-stamping-tool-f119
What are you using for your leather/pattern weights to hold the project down?
Couldn’t you have flipped the piece over, scribed the line on the inside? Then punched your holes?
Totally! That would definitely work. Sometimes the rough side doesn't retain the mark well, which isn't a huge deal. But I also like to occasionally show alternate techniques to get the same result. Great point though!
If you scribe the line on the inside with a wing divider and you press to0 hard at all it will show on the other side. Trust me, I tried it! BTW: using the same leather as the video.@@DanielReachCreations
What size are the bevels and the stamp? Are they s/m/l ?
A mix. Depends on which one. Talky, you just have to fit it to whatever project you're working on. Use the biggest stamp that will fit in the area your working on.
@@DanielReachCreations Thanks you. But I actually meant which sizes you used for this project :)
It's pronounced as weird it's an old Anglo saxon word for magic ect
Design is a little off but ok. It symbolizes many things. The 3 norns- fates, 3 women who represent the weave...past present, future. The wyrd also contains all of the runes in the futhark alphabet. Having said all that the English equivalent would be Word , but think of it as the "word of God." All possibilities of your life are contained within the wyrd.
First
Why on these instruction videos do yall cut out of the middle of the skin causing so much waist. Are you avoiding something you aren't showing.
Nah, that one is on me. I looked at that after the video was finished editing and thought, "Why did I do that? That made no sense." Sometimes it just comes down to trying to stay on track with production, which leads to mistakes you wouldn't otherwise make.
Yeah, waste of leather is a no-no on my budget!! 😅
Why do you have such a suspicious mind??? Its his leather he can cut it anyway he wants to...
Wyrd as an English (Anglo-Saxon) word means fate.
But the Norse Rune Wyrd (that you showed a picture of) signifies the connectivity of Past, Present, and future, and shows how they are all interwoven.
The three lines from upper left to lower right are the past, the 3 vertical lines are the present, and the three lines from upper right to lower left show what is to be. There are 9 lines only.
That thing you drew is not really Wyrd because it is all connected, so it is just a meaningless design. Imagine taking an English letter like a Capitol E and putting a bunch of them down touching each other. It is just lines, means nothing.
And yes, it is pronounced as Weird.
Oh yeah. The long "symbol" is just the smaller one repeated several times.
Really good info though! I find that kind of thing really interesting.
Where’s Chuck!,?
He's still doing his thing. He's not going anywhere. 😊
