The OEM Blackout Emblems now are at $120 at almost any Toyota dealership with an online price, reduced from the MSRP of $150. I think many people know that the online price from Toyota is reduced, also depending on the part category, some categories can get even a 40% discount if bought online at Toyota. Yeah, Toyota has parts cheaper than KIA or Hyundai, where the quality is totally different in the "opposite direction."
I never understood why they don't just have black emblems instead of overlays. Even on packages such as mine that has the blacked out everything. It's just overlays. One of them chipped a little bit and I can see chrome behind it. Lmao Edit: on the SR5 emblems not the toyota badge itself
Even the OEM ones are overlays, you'd think a factory emblem would be a full replacement. The overlays are easier for the consumer to just put something on top vs ripping off the full emblem and tape to then install the new ones crooked lol.
Once the overlays are installed is it permanent? What if you or the next buyer wanted a different overlay? Do you keep layering or do you have to uninstall some or all of the layers first?

What outdoor temperature would you recommend fornputting these on? Or could I heat the emblem with a hair dryer and quickly apply the overlay? Does the adhesive have to cure at all?
A hair dryer or heat gun is what we recommend. Just warm up the surface of the tape and the emblem on the truck. Also make sure its clean. A hair dryer is the safer route to insure you don't overheat anything.
Issue I’m having is that they were not putted on properly and now they are starting to fall off :( Can you send me a replacement because now that I saw this video this helps a lot :(
I live in Phoenix . Have these overlay emblems been heat tested? How does the adhesive hold up in the heat? Do the black plastic emblems deform under the sun?
I have a 2019 TRD Off Road Premium that we got new and it was blacked out. Are those blacked out emblems chrome ones covered over with black ones? The black color is coming off and I thought it may have been from a few trips through the car wash...but I wonder if it's not some aftermarket snap on covers???? Does anyone know?
You can drive right away given that you install them in the right conditions. Make sure your oem emblems are cleaned well with alcohol. And install the overlays in warm conditions.
If installed properly they shouldn't be falling off. We had to take a set of black overlays off to put on our new Topographic ones for photography and just able ripped the OEM ones off the truck because they were stuck so well.

Love it. Looks so much cooler....

Do they come pre installed lol
Stop by and we'll install them for you lol
When are you guys gonna come out with a trd sport emblem overlay
My back emblem is all Chrome and even the bar across that had the littering on it is chrome. Can I replace the whole thing in black?
lol why is overlay emblem’s stiffness matter? Stick it on it and doesn’t move 😂😂😂

They can be uninstalled. Use heat and take your time to insure you don't pull off the original emblems.
Side emblem overlay for trd sport?
Hey man, how did you get the front bumper to be black? I know stock its silver.

@@yotaxpedition Ah very cool! Thx
Do you have a discount code that can be used at your website?

Do you have website to order overlay toyota logo front and rear and the word 4RUNNER and limited 2023 model i want matte black thanks
Here is our overlay page yotaxpedition.com/products/yota-x-black-emblem-overlays
I live in Phoenix . Have these overlay emblems been heat tested? How does the adhesive hold up in the heat? Do the black plastic emblems deform under the sun?
We have not physically tested that because it's winter here, but we haven't had any complaints about that from customers.
I seen some 4Runner where the badge is have the grid type so you can put raptor lights do you know part number or name for it ?
Yes that is the pro style grille which we have available on our site yotaxpedition.com/products/yota-x-4runner-pro-grille
I need 2023 4 runner limited black emblems where can I get them. Can't find them
eBay, I just got red ones
Already placed my order for my SR5. Will these hold up if I run it through the car wash?
If installed correctly, yes. Make sure the surface is clean. Warm up the surface and tape to help the bond.

9/10 chances your 4Runner has OEM black overlays on it. As far as I know, only the TRD Pro will come with a full black emblem that is not an overlay.
@@yotaxpedition You're absolutely right. I went back and looked at my window sticker and the fine print says matte black badge overlays. Thx.
How long should you let them sit before driving?
You can drive right away given that you install them in the right conditions. Make sure your oem emblems are cleaned well with alcohol. And install the overlays in warm conditions.
Do you only have the rear 4runner emblem for the 2020 year? The oldee 4runners use a key slot to open and close the window
The emblems we have cover 2014-2024 model 4Runners. Just select your year range on the drop down.
What happenes when it doesn’t fit ?
If you purchased them from us and you're having a problem, please send an email to support@yotaxpedition.com
OEM look wayyyyy better
Wouldn't it be great if all the manufacturers just stopped chrome-plating altogether?
Chrome is lame anywhere it occurs on modern vehicles.
Black should be standard and chrome should be an add on option
I could say the opposite, can’t even see it in the dark, who are you Batman?😂😂😂
How long do they last til they start falling off?
If installed properly they shouldn't be falling off. We had to take a set of black overlays off to put on our new Topographic ones for photography and just able ripped the OEM ones off the truck because they were stuck so well.
Will these rip off in a car wash?
If they are installed correctly then you will be fine. Clean surfaces, warm temps and heat up the tape with a hair dryer to get it stickier
Looked better before
