My name is Mei Tuong, and I'm a urologic surgeon at UVA Health. I specialize in functional and reconstructive urology. As a urologist that specializes in functional and reconstructive urology, I see a wide range of patients, but specifically I see patients who have been treated for cancer and have issues in terms of urinary incontinence or sexual dysfunction. I specialize in being able to treat any sort of complications after cancer surgery and get my patients back to some sort of lifestyle that they can enjoy after their cancer treatments. I first developed a interest in medicine from a young age. My father was a community urologist, and from an early age, I saw how doctors can have a huge impact on not only their patient's lives, but also their communities.
When a new patient comes to see me in clinic, they can expect for me to listen to what their goal for the visit is and taking into consideration their lifestyle, their other medical issues, we can together make a plan to achieve their goal. At the University of Virginia, when patients come here to the medical center, they can expect the highest standard of care for not only diagnostic tests, but also treatments and surgeries. And within the UVA community, there's a wide range of doctors who specialize in all different types of medicine. Within UVA itself, there's kind of a collegiality that's very unique to the medical center, and I don't think can be found at any other hospital system.

Good Day Sir. Dr please I need your assistance on something that has bothering me for many years now. Please can I have your email so I can explain to you. I did hernia as a child but I noticed that my testicle started shrinking and it’s totally gone and the left side testicle is also now half its size shrinking too. I have been to clinics but nothing changes and I have seem 3 different urologist for testicle but said no infection and I have done testicle ultrasound scan says no infection plus other tests. Now I’m feeling pain walking my foot hot and inching. Please Sir which doctor should I visit? Help me by responding to my request Sir. Thank you.
