Really glad you covered this topic. Women are so often overlooked in history but they played a huge role, even during the periods that were the most patriarchal.
the reason they aren't as mentioned is simply because men did more things although of course they weren't allowed the same amounts of freedom
Micahistory 2 is the
Yeah, it truly is interesting
Great video! It's a shame how little their feud is discussed, it's absolutely fascinating and reminiscent of the best of Game of Thrones.
Thank you! It would make a great HBO series.
I'm newly obsessed with the Merovingian Dynasty. I am excited to have found this channel. Thank you so much

@@historyswhoyesterdaysnatio5197 You're welcome! :)
Whenever you feel your wife, sister or any other woman out there is a bitch, just remember these two Merovingian queens and you'll get over it. (By the way, the video doesn't mention the part where Fredegund almost squashes her daughter's neck under a heavy treausure box lid when se tells her it's she who should be queen).

These types of relationships continue to this day in other appearances. In these cases, nothing has changed, sadly.
beautifull video!
Thank you very much!
This is Princess Aslaugs ancestors. She named her son Sigurd Snake in the Eye. Interesting history.
The original Mean Girls, lol
14 hours early noice
Is the narration choice to read all the names as if they're French because of convention?

I hope Hillary is paying attention.
I would've bumped you off years ago.
Not even the same. Hilary is a failure at everything except doing Benghazi. Brunhilda and Fredegund took out Kings and Queens. Y’all got to stop bringing her up all the time. Dick Cheney is worse.
women being manipulative and fighting each other?
Some things never change
tbf they weren't the only one. Men were the same.
@@blugaledoh2669 i agree but this is far more characteristic of women
@@micahistory No, men are just the same. The difference is that women don't have the same power as men at the time. So the women have to be a smooth talking.
Men have been fighting each other all the time and more so than women.
Someone got his heart broken...
Nah men do this all the time. Backstabbing and being manipulative was insanely common for men in power. Machiavelli wrote about amoral male rulers in The Prince after all. Women just had to rely on manipulation more because they didn’t have as much direct power.

Maybe the Mediterraneans were right calling them barbarian
