Get your muscles “connected” by practicing compound movements (push-ups/pull-ups) which teach you to tighten and loosen different tendons in your body for maneuverability. Flexing while in a stretched position is the essence of calisthenics. Control takes precedence over explosiveness. The reason calisthenics is “satisfying” to witness because the positions achieved are relieving when you actually perform them. Similar to yoga. Doing only what feels good is key. The workout should feel like a stretch after a long ride but all over your body. Then when the task gets boring and feels safe you accelerate your progress.
