Maybe because I am getting old and more sentimental I recently found myself with a tear in my eye as I sat with my grandsons fishing on Vancouver Island, while visiting relatives before we flew back to Britain. As we sat there in serenity I just could not get the thought out of my head of the uncountable pioneers & settlers who came to this beautiful " New World " and tore a living & a life out of nothing but wilderness. The hard work and suffering they endured to make a better life for them & there families just seems to be forgotten to time and I shed a tear for them as I looked at my gorgeous grandson's and worried for their future back in London and wondered if we should just stay where we are and build a cabin & live free. But if legal citizens of Canada/America appear not to be free in a land their ancestors civilised, then what chance did we stand. New to this channel & these stories are just so enthralling with it's windows into the past. So glad I came across it on UA-cam. p.s Hiram Abiff is a masonic name.

@@backwatersageHe said Canada and the US. Canada is living under a dictatorial regime and the American federal government is trying to take the last vestiges if freedom away from us. We suffer constant censorship and assaults on our Constitutional rights. They are trying to take all rights away from the states, many if which were lost in the war between the states. Now the government wants to take ownership of ALL water in every state as “waters of the united states”! From a lake to a ditch-every bit of it. They are constantly assailing the first and second amendments, upon which all other Constitutional rights and freedoms rest.

The dogs have always been used to good effect in Texas. When I was a boy in Somerville ,Texas in the mid 50's a fellow shot the town Sheriff and took off through the country side, The Police from various towns joined in the man hunt along with thr State Militia. Finally the doge were called in along with the Texas Rangers . They got their man.

Sickens me that a prisoner escapes a prison bus in 2022 and no one could find that murderous trash. A family of 5 had to die before killing the criminal over 200 miles away.

Absolutely awesome! I live in Hamilton Scotland (the original Hamilton named after the Hamilton family). So this was of particular interest. Even some of the surnames in this account are noticeably Scot’s.
I think your channel is great and offers a unique insight. Would love to visit Texas Oklahoma etc.
One question; Did the Comanche ever come in to conflict with the Lokota Nakota or Dakota (Sioux)?
I would guess that they must have as each used the horse, so their range would have been extended. Your thoughts or anyone else’s would be appreciated
