I love Zeppelin, I think they're the greatest band of all time. Each member was uniquely different and diverse from the other, while all remained as one of the three best at their craft, especially Page and Bonzo. People talk shit about Page all the time saying he's sloppy and whatnot when we all know damn well that at 75 he could blow them all out of the water with his playing. Let alone the fact that he is probably the greatest riff writer ever, and wrote some of the most killer solos to ever be played. His so-called sloppiness made Zeppelin who they are; the loud, edgy, dirty, screeching blues band.
Dude it’s not just people that said that , Page himself says it. I reckon it’s part of his style tho. He is an incredible riff writer but you really have to be deaf to hot hear some sloppiness in his playing both live and on record.
W P - so true. very well put man.
not many people know that john paul jones wrote many classic zep riffs on bass guitar.
jeff dubuque - true. Black Dog and Good Times, Bad Times being classic examples.
Respect!
Achilles Last Stand and No Quarter are songs that are Stairway Tier but aren’t as known
And Babe I'm gonna leave you, and Ten years gone, and etc
Include rain song, babe I'm gonna leave you and ten years gone
Played Achilles Last Stand live with a 3 piece back in 1979 when I was 15 (The drummer sang); lots of fun. Had to use an Electric Mistress flanger to approximate the ascending fx parts.
Tea for one
“Bring it on Home” is epic. And immeasurably satisfying to play.
The tuned down For Your Life they played at the O2 was filthy. Maybe my favorite song from that night.
One of my favorites that you never really hear is Nobody’s Fault but Mine
Jimmy was testing the nut and G-string tuning stability on Bring it on Home. The 2nd fret is no place for full-step bends!
Ramble On is quite possibly my favorite song. Then maybe 10 years gone.
Bring It On Home is my favorite Page riff!
There’s something special about the look of that Les Paul. What year is it? It’s gorgeous. I think you said you got the pots replaced before. Sounds perfect.
I would really love to know how you get the tone you get. Sounds great, keep em coming!
DUDE U ARE A GEM ! best Zeppelin instruction vid i.ve ever seen................. by far uour zeppelinFridays will be highlight of my week ! from michael t wyman fellow UA-camr and rock guitarist .....LA CA USA see u at NAMM 2020 baby ! (if u r going to NAMM )
you're nailing those huge riffs , wow .
For Your Life.. is in my top 5 Zeppelin Riffs of all time. They did it live for the first time at 02 Arena. I think it was the best unexpected performance of the night.
Jimmy is the man!
"Sick Again" is a pretty...sick riff
I looooove playing bring it on home. But I think the lemon song is the most underrated zeppelin riff with crazy licks everywhere, and find a bassist to play that line is garage band heaven. Just my two cents (the and a half with inflation of being old).
I watched this just to make sure For Your Life was on here. Love it!
In my time of dying that's a cool one
that one is really good, especially the live version where the gain can really be heard
Lord page was a riff genius. No one grooves better than he did.
The solos from Tea for One
Everyone always disses Presence but it is an absolute Led Zep gem.
No Quarter has to be one of my favourites
Great vid and choice of songs! What pickups are in your LP?
Part 2 please!!!! Include stuff like tramped under foot and suck again
The Physical Graffiti Album is just loaded with hidden gems 💎 ✨️ 🙌 👌🏻
And bring it on home is why I got a Les paul 😂
Led Zeppelin was the reason I got a tele.
Cool video thnx. Presence is a great guitar album.
*Out On The Tiles has entered the chat*
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thanks Robert... bout time for a trip to Denver isn't it
Man, those are all my favourite riffs! Nice.
Brilliant bro..love the t shirt paying homage to the man😎
In My Time of Dying please.
What I like about you is you're the kind of teacher I always wanted to find. Wanna play rock? Here! You don't have to learn Mary Had a Little Lamb on an acoustic first. Traditional guitarists are great. I'm not one. Never wanted to be. I'm a much older man now (put it this way: I saw Led Zeppelin in 1977 at the Forum in L.A. - shit, I think it was '77. Too many shrooms), but I play rock, and always have. My teacher was a dick.
Hey Robert, your jeans have serious bag rip eh? Great Zeppelin tones and riffs!
Where’s d’yer mak’er? It’s got a sick 50’s vibe
Im digging the macho man shirt.
Presence is oft overlooked.
Great content thanks
Love it
Why did I get a notification 2 days later??
Nice
How come??? A video with a LP while we're waiting for som rock and roll on the strat!!!! Haha
Yes! Achilles Last Stand!
Over the hills maaan...
I don’t even smoke weed; but that dude looks like a cool guy I’d want to get baked with!
Tea for one Achilles last stand 🤔
sick again
No one ever mentions I'm Gonna Crawl. Such a great laid back vibe. And melancholy, the right song to be Zep's last.
Hots on For Nowhere
These hip hop sissys today have no idea what real music is... they best watch this channel
You never see anyone play the rover, such an underrated song
My favorite Led Zep song! It's so underrated.
100%!
Exactly what I was gonna write haha. So fun and it rocks obviously
Or Custard Pie
In my top 10.
In My Time Of Dying so underrated it didn’t even make it onto this list. The most badass riff Page ever created.
Oh my jesus
I love In My Time of Dying.
Umm i havent seen Robert playing w/ slide should we challenge him?
Shane Pfannmuller - I might want this one 2 B played on my funural🤔
@@mikemiller4838 squeeze my lemons
I never hear anyone do Houses Of The Holy...
The Ocean is also a great riff!
i’ve got a band and we play The Ocean along with Bring it on home and everything as well as our own songs anyone wanna buy a ticket to a show in january?
Yes I totally agree
Simon Estrada Ah we had no idea what was in store for us in 2020.
@@johnlennon8826 lol, yes... innocent times when his comment was made! 😂😂
Achilles Last Stand is the most underrated Zep song. Incredible groove and Bonhams drumming is amazing
Quite a fun one to play!!! I love that song.
No it's not people love that song. It shouldn't even be in the video. The real underrated song is tea for one
I think In the Light, Song Remains the Same, The River are way more underrated, Achilles is not underrated anymore so many people know it and love it.
THANK YOU FOR HAVING BRING IT ON HOME!! So underrated in the Zeppelin Catalogue!
Bring it on home was not underrated. It was played all the time.
The live version at the RAH is the best in my opinion
Not under rated mate
The main riff to No Quarter is a pretty cool one.
The first Zep song I ever heard over 20 yrs ago and it still has the same effect on me
"Down by the seaside" is a real gem.
That break in the middle is heavy as fuck.
The Zep song I've listened to the most the last few years. A true gem indeed
You forgot Custard Pie, nobody ever plays it but its super easy and really fun to play
Ivan Vovchik especially that wah part
Oh yeah, crank the amp up and Custard Pie for the neighbourhood.
"Achilles Last Stand" has always been my favorite, and may just be my favorite of all time.
I was thinking about Jimmy Page's use of weird and sometimes dissonant chords he sometimes uses live ( see Dazed and Confused from How the West Was Won, at 13:40 or Immigrant Song at 3:19 also from HTWWW) and I thought this could be a cool topic to dig in. I'd love to see you explore this subject!
Out on the Tiles is super fun. And everyone should be playing The Rover.
"In the light" is fun as hell to play. Also Travelling Riverside Blues, and a hundred more...
Even Zeppelin had some underrated riffs of their own! Always a pleasure to see you do justice to the legendary rock band!
GET THE LED OUT FRIDAY NEEDS TO BE A THING
Also 'Bring It On Home' is great, I use it as an alarm sometimes and it scares the shit outta me. 😅 Anyway, thanks! I wanna learn all of them! 😃😃😃
Yo, Robert, bring it on home was actually the first zepplin riff I ever learned.
Nobody ever talks about that EPIC no quarter riff
Underated comment
It's fricken epic
Magnificent riff in a magnificent song!
Achilles Last Stand is one of the Zeppelin's pieces that should be appreciated more. Everyone in the band shows their talent in this song which makes it the ultimate masterpiece.
I've been on a Misty Mountain Hop kick the past couple of days.
Custard Pie is a great dig into it jam. Not too hard to play either and cool solo.
The correct way to play the intro riff of "For Your Life" is with a G power chord

I think a lot of stuff off Physical Graffiti and Presence are under-rated. But "Bring it on home" is one of my favourites.
Probably "The Rover", especially when he goes into slide mode and either changes guitars or pickups. I reckon "Walters Walk" is pretty cool too for their B grade album - but a B grade Lep album is better then a lot of the A grade crap being pumped out now!
The Wanton Song & Out on the Tiles
wanton best song ever!!!!!!
the rover is a really underrated riff from physical graffiti
Achilles last stand is one of my top zeppelin favorites 🤘🤙
To me, Achilles last stand, tea for one are by far their best tunes. Worth mentioning the rain song and ten years gone. Masterpieces
I bet “for your life” is Adam Jones’s favorite Led Zeppelin diff
Love these Zeppelin vids man
That's my dream Les Paul you're playin' lol love the tobacco with the humbuckers and great choice for the Zep tunes I've always played Bring It On Home luv it........ I actually enjoy playing most of these, Tea For One isn't something I ever played very cool song though, Achilles and Nobody's Fault were the only Presence tunes I'm most familiar with playin but luv the Zep tunes👍🏼✌🏼️
Can’t go wrong with zeppelin. Loved the Hacksaw Jim Dugan call with the Macho Man shirt at the beginning.
The Girl I I Love She Got Long Black Wavy Hair is an awesome riff. I really like "Hey Hey What Can I do" on the acoustic. It has 2 cool riffs - the chorus is neat but there is a bluesy riff in the verse. I love love the ending/outro of Out On The Tiles. Blind Melon does a cover and they do their own take on it. Really cool.
Almost forgot. Bring it on home and when the levy breaks for future cool.
Achilles is my fave Zeppelin song. So dense, so fast and a beautifully complex and well built solo.
Wanton song is my favorite zeplin tune 🤷♂️
Zep Fridays !!! Please I'll be your friend forever. As always my favourite guitar sensei
You nailed Achilles last stand
My favorite Zep hidden gem is in my time of dying (live version)
Thanks for Achilles Last Stand! I've wanted to learn it forever. The lick at 17:46 is a monster!
In the Light
Zeppelin on a Les Paul is just pure awesomeness
I love the presence album from led zeppelin the whole band was awesome
Some of Jimmy's best riffs are on Presence, great album, really underrated. My favourite is Royal Orleans. You should do a lesson on the intro riff because there are like 3 guitars, I tried to do it by ear but I'm not 100% sure. Love those videos about Led Zeppelin 🔝
ugliest t shirt ever: macho man ! ... ja,ja... just unsubscribed.
na, you are the best.
OMG if you were nearby Id kiss you!!!!!! some of my fav s that we played all wrong in the day........one of your best ever videos...and yes do a zep Friday, there is so much to unpack......in this style no need for the whole song....maybe key parts of solos that teach and can be added to the lick bag!!! So grateful today!!
I think Bring it on home was best performed live especially at the RAH concert, i feel it’s too slow for me on the studio
Achilles is my favorite Zeppelin song. Tea For One is pretty much Since I've Been Loving You pt. 2
How to make les paul sounds so bright like that?
That's a beautiful Les Paul
Ace Frehley covered Bring it on Home Origins Vol.1 Great Song.
The two most under-rated Zep tunes, both off III are Celebration Day, and Out on the Tiles.
Just about nailed the tone with the riffs. Utilized the pickup position in the middle - like Page himself. Rarely heard & nicely done.
