@@ioverslept. Just one that isn’t full of copy pasted repeated content and just has a more realistic landscape which fits with the lore. This is a petty example but for all of the food in stormveil there sure are 0 farms anywhere. Also the same cobblestone ruins everywhere, the DLC really needs to amp up the quality of the things to do within the open world area, even if its less things over all. More isnt always better. From needs to not take the Skyrim approach and just not go overboard with the side content.
Making? The host almost dropped a full dual katana combo within her range. The result? Nepheli the twink and her demolishing thunderstorm activated lmao
To be honest Elden Ring was so good I forgot it didn't include the usual DLC. Bosses like Malenia or Placidusax would normally be limited to the additional content. This realisation brought my opinion on the game even higher. Now only to hope Miyazaki still has steam left after releasing the main game.
I felt exactly the same. I think they could have easily fleshed out the story with Malenia, Mohg, and Miquella, included Milicent's side quest for it all, and fleshed out the snow fields a bit and it would have been an incredible DLC. That brings up other issues for the base game, of course, but it could have worked. Makes me excited for whatever will be DLC!
I still want to see an ash of war that let's you cast whatever spell you have selected from your weapon. From the description of the Carian longsword, I thought we'd get something like that, and I was super disappointed it just had Carian Grandeur instead. Edit: oops, apparently Ratotoskr went over this exactly. That's what I get for commenting before finishing the video.
Yes that would be amazing. I just don’t feel like going through the entire game everytime to fight bosses again in ER as opposed to previous souls games.
I think the new weapon type could be some sort of battle staff that is a viable melee weapon too. Or maybe thrusting ultra greatswords or heavy whips LOL
I doubt you could even imagine it... That which commanded the Game Awards. Giving the event it's fullest brilliance. The DLC, ohhh DLC. Promised... ...By Ratatoskr... ...Or something. Don't tell me you don't see it. Look up at the leaks. It hurts. (the wait)
Me personally would really like a Kusarigama type weapon (scythe on a long chain with a metal weight at the other end). I'm currently playing Nioh 2 while waiting for ER DLC and I'm loving the weapons. Great video btw and nice choice of bg music!
I think a good contender for a new weapon type would be ringblades. There's a few varieties already in the game wielded by enemies. The crystal ringblade, the beastman ringblade, those are what I'm talking about. A weapon you can throw and melee with
There's also chain weapon like Kusarigama that vulgar militia use. And chain hammer and axe that gladiator use. Although we do have the unchain version for gladiator weapon.
I loved covenants, they would fit well in elden ring imo -Fias Champions -Golden Order Fundamentalists -Dragon Communion -Recusants -Blood Phantoms -Maybe a not or academy faction
I was just playing ds3 last night and it finally dawned on me that's what ER's base-game is missing, imo. Probably unnecessary for the game's integrity, but still a missed function!
Calling back to the souls games themes of time traveling, being able to travel into the past or even future and experience the important events and bosses/characters in their prime would be pretty cool
I want an umbrella/cane katana (like O'rin from Sekiro). Disappointed that Cane Sword can't use Unsheath, imagine the fashion potential. PS: buffable paired katana would be amazing as well, flame strike buff on it would be glorious.
I agree with the lore dlc parts, but hands down I believe tarnished archaeologist has the best interpretation of the current lore, as more so than previous tittles From Soft packed in alot of real world mythology and architecture into the environment of the game, and only when understanding the real world history does the games story and themes become alot clearer
I checked out and binged the content. It’s remarkable how much context utilizing archeology, dendrology, botany, history, mythology and religion brings to Elden Ring’s narratives. Thank you for the suggestion and I hope Ratotaskr ends up finding this comment, TA is one I’d consider highly underrated.
@@LokiHades I'm glad you checked it out, its so gdam good the beast men burial omg what a jaw dropper, or miquellias prophecy holy shot and Godfrey is such an Arthurian figure i was like how did i not see this!? I saw the themes but wow its basically a 1 for 1 pull
My dude, I usually just lurk, but I love your channel. The stuff you say I agree with almost 100% of the time. A lot of this stuff I've already said to people on my invasion subreddit. The thing I love the most about your channel is your blending between PVE content and PVP content. You're doing a lot to spread PVP to people who normally would be too afraid to try it. On my channel I have a character for invasions called magic knight. It wears a combination of carian knight and royal Knight, wields dual Carian Knight swords (or nobles slender depending on my mood), and has all of the best spells. It's basically designed to be the best spellsword build. A tanky spellblade knight with an excellent melee and magic options. Infinite utility. All of my builds are some form of spellblade knight. But the one thing that's always bothered me the most is that the Carian knight sword didn't get the blue flame treatment. It should be a spellcasting catalyst. I will be forever shitty about the fact that I can't just dual wield and cast magic with my swords. Such a missed opportunity. And another thing, I've often proclaimed that carian grandeur is the best ash of war for invaders. Why? Because from nerfed almost every other ash of war so you can no longer one shot. Carian grandeur got nerfed too. Now instead of doing 2500 damage it only does 2000ish damage... But that's STILL enough to one shot most people. That inherently makes it very very useful for invaders. It can just get rid of a phantom in one shot. It is the biggest most damaging turn and burn in your arsenal. Gankers get overconfident and chase you like a pack of hyenas, and then they get slapped with a grandeur turn and burn and they all die. It's so satisfying. It can also be used to one shot through walls. I do it all the time in my videos. That being said, it's completely fair that grandeur does 2000 damage. It isn't the hardest thing to land, but it takes some skill. You actually have to be smart to do that kind of damage, but it's available to you. It should definitely have some hyper armor though. I actually find it appalling that it doesn't. Sorry for the long comment. I'm just a detailed kinda dude. But as far as the DLC goes I really hope you're right about it, because that will reinvigorate the PVP community, something I've watched rise and fall for the last 11 years. As a matter of fact I hope there's 2 DLCs.
@@janterri3539 no hes actually ok, I don't watch him but from what I've seen he's not too bad. He kind of leans into the whole D&D, long haired, super nerd thing
I mean let's be honest, you play Call of Duty then you're a douche. You play D&D, you're a neckbeard. Only once you play From Soft games do you really become a true chad
I’d really like to see a new DLC open world area with a more metroidvania style design akin to DS1. I just miss that world layout and design so much and wanna have more again.
I wish for - more varied mini dungeons - more dynamic content for over world, like roaming enemies. At least for NG+. - visually better dodge than roll - more areas - better blocking with weapons
And let us take our great runes into NG+ please, for the love of god, its new game + who tf gives a crap about continuity, you can literally summon a nepheli puppet while you're fighting with nepheli for double nepheli action.
I'll only say this for now, I really badly want them to bring back a dark/abyss element type, magic and infusions both. I miss that aesthetic for a build.
Gideon Ofnir's weapon should absolutely have been able to case both sorceries and incantations, though that would've slightly detracted from the aesthetic of him having one type of catalyst in each hand so maybe just sorceries
I don't really get the complaint about the replay value, Elden Ring has the greatest replay value out of any game in the series. First experience is a thrill discovering every little secret, and in subsequent playthroughs you can skip the caves and catacombs you aren't interested in or don't need for your build. I've already made ten characters and have beaten the game ten times, going through the open world and planning out my path to get my build equipment is a ton of fun.
I really hope there's a chalice dungeon type addition to the game. I loved it in Bloodborne, idk what anyone else says, it was great as it was. Just randomized areas to go through to play the game and fight and loot stuff. It's all I want. Or better yet, a dungeon you can randomize that strips your character of their gear and level, and you need to level and find gear throughout the dungeon, and dying makes you lose all you found. So a rogue like
I never got why people trashed Chalice Dungeons. I mean they’re not perfect but it’s just a little more content to experience. I enjoyed my time doing them and there were some really cool bosses in there. The defiled dungeon made for a really tough but fun to beat challenge
There is quite a distinction between chalice dungeons and ER dungeons. I loved chalice dungeons, but i didnt like ER dungeons, because my expectations were different in comparison. Bloodborne had unique bosses, even a new weapon, but the chalice dungeons felt like an actual side activity of the game. In Elden Ring however most of the Runes were stuffed into bosses, so if you wanted to level up you were sort of forced to do it and when the dungeons are exactly in the spirit of chalice dungeons with no unique bosses and often enough spirit summons rewards... well thats just feels bad. Basically in replays dungeons in ER hold little value, which severely reduces how long the game takes to beat, on the other hand i dont feel bad not doing chalice dungeons at all if i so choose.
@@AngRyGohan I think they really should have balanced runes a little better. Exploring around for awhile and killing lots of enemies basically gives you no runes. You either have to find a farming spot or yeah just go kill bosses. I would like enemies in the world and dungeon enemies to drop more rewards.
They need to flesh out death and madness options for new stuff. Fashion is always good. Catalyst weapons would be awesome. I really do hope for some more mini-dungeons with cool mechanics. The mirrored dungeon and the teleport chest dungeons blew me away, the standard ones, we had too many which is what made for the exhaustion IMO. PvP needs a lot of fleshing out. Please up player limit, please reintroduce MP covenants, can’t wait for arenas
I think the theme of elden ring is literally that it is just a piece of something larger, no one person could see everything and figure everything out by themself and there's more to the plot even beyond our scope. it's designed to be a rabbit hole, going through item descriptions figuring things out and if you keep following the rabbit hole it leads to real life rabbit holes like alchemy and archaeology and so much from so many cultures. It's reflected in game, corhyn calls gold mask a heretic for denying the holsim of the golden order, but corhyn and the rest of the golden order are the ones tunnel visioned on one aspect of life to see everything beyond the greater will, like rot and death, and it results in them not understanding and not being able to adapt. I think they really do need to elaborate on marika though, it seems impossible to guess what her motives could be or even what she was trying to accomplish. The alchemy symbols are there but it's hard to tell exactly, it seems like marika went through the 4 stages of alchemy ending in rubedo, the reddening, the joining of the sun and moon, male and female. is Ranni supposed to be the filius philosphorum, the philosopher's child? or it could be possible that marika's progression didn't quite work out all the way. and as far as motives, seems to me like she was ultimately planning on killing the greater will but yea really no clue
@@fulltimeslackerii8229 is it so hard to believe miyazaki would lean harder into cryptic story telling after dark souls, supporting a community that loves digging into it? it does seem like he expected people to end up data mining to figure out lore because he knew thats already what happened in dark souls. it's not a waste of time unless you go in expecting instant gratification, elden ring is unique, the community and discoveries and discussion are just as much a part of the game
Fist weapon also a pair weapon. Like the claw, golden claw thing. I have a feeling that magic is so strong that having a weapon that can also cast spell is kind of unbalance so there should be another way. I like they way they do it through the ash of war. You can actually cast spell with weapon by changing the ash of war to a certain spell you want. Or having a decent melee option for your staff with "spinning weapon" and you can even buff them with bleed/frost and stuff. I think it is the best approach. The unbalancing is probably why this is the only game that doesn't have a magic catalyst/staff/seal that can cast difference kind of spell at once. In DS3 you can get a chime that can cast both magic and miracle for example because most of them are borderline useless. For me the first few cave/catacomb of the games are like introduction so they kind of feel the same. However the later one get more complex and becomes more fun with more puzzles, mechanics and hidden paths rather than killing stuff to find the thing. The only thing I wish to change is more enemies variety there. However it may be hard to change since Miyazaki said in one of the interview that when they develop an area they also decided which enemies fit to be there and should be there. It is why you see erdtree avatar, erdtree spirit and the like re-appear at certain place or some enemies only appear in one place. I don't think that will change any time soon. But they can still improve
Ash of Wars are already stronger than many similar spells in the game though. There is an ongoing meme in the community how AoWs are better spells than actual spells.
I hope we will get to fight one of the other Outher Gods, like the formless mother, the Elden Beast was such a weird and alien boss that I want to see more Outher Gods
The Elden Beast isn't an outer god, it's merely a herald of the Greater Will, an actual outer god. Also them being killable would run counter to their role in the story as unimaginable cosmic forces beyond our understanding.
There is, at least, one in consecrated snowfield, extremily easy to miss though, specially considering how empty consecrated snowfield is, agree with you, is sad, i really like that enemy
Elden Ring was my first Soulsgame and it was a TRUE one of a kind experience. After I beat it twice I was craving for more and was thinking of playing Bloodborne for it's atmosphere but it was stuck on PS4. I hope that Elden Ring's DLC adds a dungeon Randomizer like Bloodborne's. Auto generated fun in the most creative soulsgame yet.
About allowing more players to exist in any given world. The game can do it although it's through a bug that I've only seen happen once during Radagon/Elden Beast's fight. 3 phantoms and our host all existed and fought alongside eachother just like it was back in Ds3. Me and the 2nd phantom joined the world as normal but when the host went through the fog wall and the 3 of us got teleported to the arena we suddenly had a 3rd phantom get summoned and aid us as if we we're playing Ds3. My guess is there was some kind of lag shenanigans going on that allowed the host to summon two people simultaneously even through the game normally doesn't let a host summon another phantom until the current phantom being summoned is actually in the world with their host.
I hope for some more relevant armor. Even with full Radahan armor which is one of the best sets defense wise in the game you still get wrecked easily by enemies. I miss tank builds like in DS1 where if you had great armor it genuinely felt like you could take blows and be okay. I honestly miss being able to upgrade armor like in DS1 too. I personally loved having a build with maxed out weapons and armor. Gave you something to work towards
The fact that they didn't implemented special covenant invasion area is a great missopportunity like with the ability to jump and much more complex and interactive legacy dungeon there's literally unlimited possibilities of pure stupid fun like you can do hide and seek and a little bit of trolling and God beating the host in special area is just one of my favourite thing about souls game pvp
I think the most baffling part about not having covenants.... that unlike any other game, there are literal factions battling in the lore so it would make more sense, unlike in the other games where covenant factions almost purely exist for PvP. Volcano manor, Golden Order, Haligtree, Redmanes, Academy to just bring some examples...
I would love if covenants could do objective based content - for example, the forts out in the world being defended/assaulted imagine fighting for the haligtree and defending fort sol against Leyndell covenant. lets say 3 v 3 players and accompanying npc force related to your covenant. with the regular enemy placement during this "match" gone. then you could see like these factions influence growing through the lands between, I mean they already have ways to convey MP hot zones etc, why not then make borders and duke it out to increase your covenants influence. I mean you're descendants of the conqueror Elden lord with the mission to become the elden LORD...
My most wanted announcements aside from Elden Ring DLC: - New FF XVI trailer showing the overworld and its exploration - Maybe an FF VII Rebirth trailer - New Tekken 8 trailer - Armored Core Reebot - Gears of War 6 - Hollow Knight date of launch trailer - New NetherRealm Studios (Injustice 3/MK12) - New WH40K: Space Marine 2 trailer
Completely agree with the player limit and covenant pvp zones, they were the reason I put thousands of hours into these games. No other multiplayer game captures those experiences.
I'm really excited about it, all of the Soulborne's dlc is the peak of the whole game like you said : Artorias, Sister Friede, Gael, Lady Maria ...... Fromsoft's dlc quality always over the standard of most other games dlc nowdays, it is an expansion pack like old days
One more open world area would be perfect. Possibly just the Badlands, they can make it as large as they want tbh. Legacy dungeons for the rest. They should refresh the current game with more encounters and NPCs. There's a lot that can be done to spice up Altus and Consecrated Snowfields specifically. I also think Leyndell needs more NPCs. A merchant and an invader wouldn't hurt, and definitely one more friendly NPC.
I think something they could do is make unique weapons with ashes of war that transform the weapon bloodborne atyle, and having an ash of war that is similar to a sekiro parry would be really nice
@@sasaki999pro it would just be great if they took all the unique mechanics from the other souls games and put them into elden ring, it would truly make it the culmination of all the previous games
@@stationorange no no, thats my point, this is elden ring, this is all entirely possible with the way ashes of war work, elden ring bosses work perfectly with sekiro combat as you may have seen with the mods, so if they just added an ash of war that allows you to perfect block to deal stance damage, that would definitely make people like the game alot more.
Unrelated but when are you going to do that series on best moments in gaming? Like Ludwig phase transition Really looking forward to that. Btw, you have a fantastic voice for narration and are very easy to listen to. In case no one has ever told you this, it's a big appeal of your channel. The voice overs are very soothing. Do as you wish with this information, but it is literally the defining characteristic of your channel for me personally. The content itself is great too (obviously, or I wouldn't be subbed lol) but your voice just automatically makes it way easier to listen to than a lot of elden ring YT creators.
they should making a really big maze dungeon castle that have random generate room and enemies and you can summon up to 6 other phantom and all phantom can still summon spirit, there are no refill flask either.
Having a new open world area would be nice, but in my opinion the DLC needs a legacy dungeon. It could even just be ONE legacy and that's it, but it must be top tier (like Stormveil or Leyndell). My idea is it would be structured like Siofra-Nokron. Open map but not too big, with a legacy dungeon at the end (which would be fitting if it were in a "limited" dream setting)
Hopefully the new Weapon type is going to be either Colossal Flails or Kusarigamas. We already had Those Fat Guys in Sekiro use Huge Bells attached with Chains as Weapons and Whip weapons like the Urumi left me wanting to use Kusarigama (Sickle and Chain) in the Game.
I paused the Video when u start mentionning pvp just to state my most deepest wanted idea for Any souls/elden/sekiro. A boss battle Arena where you can fight 1 2 3 or even 4 bosses/enemies at once
Hybrid weapons that are catalists and staffs would be great,Staff swords, Mazes that cast incantations and maybe hybrid between a staff and catalist for the golden order incantations. Adding to this maybe a way to make catalists and staffs ashes of war be substituted with memorized spells were if you have the spell memorized you cast it without having to search for it , that way mages would gain one more space and having a lot of spells memorized wouldnt be such and annoyance. Staffs and catalyst tied to one spell would make it so a mage or priest might carry a lot of weapons instead of moving through the menus and you could bluff using spells and spell ashes of war in pvp.
The old dlcs going all the way back to ds1 s first dlc we’re all about reiterating the theme of the base game artorios Is a physical representation of that
My wishlist is to have ash of war specific for Powerstance. I mean the banished knight that wield 2 sword have a spinning move that is unavailable to player. Also, sword that can cast sorcery/incant. And finally, give me Morgott weapon incant. As for weapon type, I wish we got chain weapon, like the Kusarigama that vulgar militia use, and chain hammer and axe that gladiator use. I know we already get their weapon, but it doesn't have chain. Also, please give me gun, gunpowder is canon in land between. Another note: please, let there be pvp boss like spear of the church.
I want just one legacy dungeon, but make it HUGE, bigger than Leyndell and Stormveil combined. It think a dark castle run by the Godskins would be cool.
The catacombs don't look the same. Every one has at least 2-3 new things in it. Especially like the Murkwater catacombs. My favs are the snowfield ones. The Yelough Tunnel, Snowfield Catacombs, and the cave northwest of the bellydragon field boss. Those three have sooooo good, creative, unusual, unique layout, enemies, lore, textures etc. The tunnel has frozen enemies who unfroze when you get closer to them. And I could just list a bunch of other things. Elden Ring is sooo underrated with all the 10/10 too. It has so much content and all of them are so special if like that was the only feature of the game. It is just incredible.
Some of them were unique, but a lot of them had those same white flame lanterns, those same corridors, same statue enemies hanging on the walls. Only differences being the layout and the boss at the end. Caves and hero graves on the other hand were all unique
There is someone (a random) spitballing about sekiro 2 too, something I have little (okay actually zero) hope for, but the imagination makes my mouth water. Elden ring wins game of the year, having a dlc trailer where after the end they also tease sekiro 2
at least you were thorough in your first play through, I thought I was in mine but looking through my inventory to see if i got everything in my second playthrough, turn out I missed a dungeon in caelid, and then in my third playthrough when checking all the spirit ashes, missed another dungeon in liurnia, but I didn't do it all in one sitting maybe that's what maybe burned you out, I spaced my play session like savoring a delicious meal one bite at a time, and in my current 3rd play through, I'm thinking up weapon setups in theme with the bosses, like beating the 2 raya lucaria bosses with weapons themed after radagon, so marika hammer, his rings of light, the golden order and relic swords or beating radahn with his sibling's greatswords, and since I'm going for the frenzied flame ending for this, I made every npc see the wonders of the frenzied flame, although saying this now made me realize I might miss targoth because I already kil... I mean indoctrinated patches
The weapon type is a predctable thing, it’s more likely to be an variation type, types Of weapon that don’t have at least three types are the more probable, like colossal thrusting swords, colossal curved swords, odachis (great kanatas), great twinblades, great flails, colossal spears, great fists/claws.
I think people have gotten a lot better at interpreting the lore since the game's release. For instance people have figured out a lot of the relationships between many of the characters and races and why certain things happened, like why Malenia fought Radahn, and what things like the Outer Gods are really supposed to be. The main issues that are unresolved are the real big questions of the game, like Marika/Radagon's motivations and desires, The Gloam Eyed Queen, Melina, the Night of the Black Knives and who was involved, and the exact timeline of the world. I think to me the main theme is essentially the cycle of civilizations. The current order and it's religious ideals are crumbling, so everyone is fighting over what the new order is going to look like. Dark Souls and Sekiro also had related themes with the entropy of the world and the fall of a society, but in this case it's a bit different because it's not centered around how the world is ending, so much as how it's form is changing. Like Marika, Radagon, Malenia, Miquella, Radahn, Ranni, Rennala, Melina, and pretty much all the other characters, their stories are all centered around the idea of metamorphizing from one form to another. They either were once something and became something else, or they're in the process of doing so. This is most explicit with Marika/Radagon and Malenia and Miquella, the latter two actually incorporating butterfly/moth symbology. So essentially the game is about the end of one thing and the beginning of another, it's about change.
If we do get a new weapon type, I want the Ringblade like the Crystalians have! It looks like it'd be _so_ much fun to use, especially with its spinning motions!!
I was just thinking of something while watching this: no idea if anyone discussed this before, but the caves, mines, hero's graves and catacombs are perfect for their thematic consistency and for the way they replace mob grinding by giving you a destination that is full of upgrade materials you might be looking for. For example, mines, I think, are sources for weapons, ashes of war, and smithing stones. Catacombs are for summons, and grave glovewort. Prior games would ask you to rest at bonfires to respawn mobs to grind, Elden Ring says you don't have to do that, just find another little activity to do. The map is littered with these little activities, and yes they're very samey (with notable exceptions) but I think for a lot of us, Elden Ring is perfect because it's A LOT of Souls environments to use Souls style gameplay in, regardless of the homogeneity of the environments and tilesets.
I agree with you, the mini dungeons are good because they also provided a more focused experience when you have quite sometime roaming the open world and start getting tired. I think fromsoft could improve them by giving them different assets and colors in each region, so they won't become too repetitive by the endgame. Another thing that could improve the overall experience is to not have a boss at the end of each dungeon. Erase half of these bosses and give the other half a buff, this way you will have less repeated enemies and more memorable fights in the remaining. The catacombs/caves without a boss could easily have a treasure room at the end with the reward and some runes. To spice things a little more, they could add traps or groups of enemies (not bosses) in some of these those rooms that you need to kill or get through to open the chest with your reward and exit the place.
Short answer. Yes. It's coming, They would be soo foolish if they didn't do DLC. After the data mine. It's basically confirmed. It's also very likely that it will be a free update, but I won't hold my breath.
There a good chance a new weapon type is the spell book. Just imagine how hard it hits you if the opponent has high int or faith lmao. And it can cast spell too
The Tin Banishment Catalyst in DS1 has a decent-ish R2 attack, and the item description suggests it doubles as a weapon, but I wouldn't suggest using it past mid-game.
I want 3 dlcs like with ds2. I hope all the dlcs ministories are tied like in Ds3. What i want most are more bubble sorceries and a map that is a moon that was crashed on the lands between by the greater will long ago, that moon hosting a nox city with a lot of gravity energy emanating from it and affecting water currents from the sea makimg imposible structures, kinda like how moses opened the sea and maybe tie the sea with godwyn siren form and similar creatures that live in death...
As someone who played SotfS as his first Souls game I never understood all the ds2 hate. Only after watching old vids of how ds2 used to work did I understand. But yeah, Elden ring suffers from BotW syndrome: much of the fun comes from exploring, but exploring is only fun when you don’t know what’s coming… which is why I hope there’s more maze like stuff. So I’m with you on the getting lost. (Speaking of BotW, when I first saw the maze shape on the map in the north, i audibly squealed like a school girl…. Which considering I’m a somewhat burly bearded 30 something man would’ve been quite a sight for any on looker 😅. I like mazes.)
A way to refight bosses (maybe scaled up for end game level difficulty) would be nice. Also I would kill to be able to visit the Badlands. Please, just let us go there Miyazaki.
I have an insane idea, and I have no idea how it would work in practice, but what if there was an ash of war that let you cast spells from your weapon with L2? I'm not sure how it would determine the spell buff, but I thought it a neat idea regardless.
Most ER fans are on giga copium 24/7. Surely the DLC is real and it will surely be good and it will surely allow the story to make sense and fill in the plot holes. Surely all of those things and more will happen guys.
@@nu1x I'm sure that totally real DLC that's totally gonna be announced at Game Awards won't release rushed and unfinished, will release with minimal bugs because it was surely bug tested, will have no major cut content and will have finished NPC quests that won't be patched into the game later after majority of players finished playing. John Fromsoft would never do us like that. I just don't have my hopes up like I did for the vanilla game, so I won't get disappointed.
It's weird how the difference between Elden ring and every other Soulsbourne game is that most other souls games I completely maybe 5/7 complete play throughs before I got bored with it, but most of those playthrough took less than 20 hours each. While in Elden ring I spent 250+ hours on my first playthrough and then did 2 NG+ playthroughs taking less than 30 hours each and now I'm kind of bored with Elden ring. I don't know what I enjoy more.
Elden Ring was the first game that I actually bought to play the multiplayer after watching SO MANY videos of DS PvP. I thought ER could be what DS123 was for the people who made those amazingly cool videos. But I was so disappointed and sad. I wanted to play those 3v3s, and 2v2s. But in ER, things were so unbalanced that PvP didn't feel as fun as I thought it would. I hated doing 1v2s, let alone 1v3s. Everyone's using some broken mechanics, and the fight would end in a few seconds. I think the worst was the covenants. I fucking loved the idea of covenants, and being part of this culture, and how the PvP ties into the lore. There was a reason to fight, but ER PvP just felt drab when it had the potential to beat the PvP experience of every single game before. I really really really hope the DLC breaths new life (and death) into the community, and I'd be able to love ER just as much as those other people who love DS PvP. PS, yung maestro, I miss you.
0:09 No. There will definitely not be ER DLC announced at the game awards. We will probably seen an announcement this spring, and see the DLC drop in the fall. 4:49 The chalice dungeons themselves, are pretty cool. Farming them for a month straight to get competitive gems for pvp, is not. I know this is your channel Ratatoskr, but I'd just like to take a moment to offer all praise and thanks to Zullie the Witch and her bringing false depth chalice dungeons to the Bloodborne community, my arcane builds would all still be sitting in the shitter without those. Now, they have _good_ gems. Not perfect gems, just good. 8:04 There are three things I want to see; a fire incantation that is a ranged, low-cost, 'fast attack' not unlike swift glintstone shard / night shard. Flame Sling is _not_ a pvp spell. I want to see a few spellcasting implements that are dual-purpose, like they're capable of casting both sorceries and incantations, and they're designed for different types of sorceries and incantations. I _also_ want to see some kind of big, heavy, boss-killing nuke for godslayer incantations. 12:28 While I _love_ Elden Ring, I think they fell down on the job, _hard_ , by making two invasion items and having them be the exact same invasion item (yes, I know, the music is different, your eye-change is different, there's a different item description, _I know_ , I get it people, there are some cosmetic and lore differences) but in the past you got specific rewards from either invading in covenants, or farming the items. You could even decide the way you wanted to play in your invasions by just using the plain old red orb, or going Mound-Maker. Some of the most fun I had in Dark Souls 3, was running around on a pyromancer as a Mound-Maker, throwing giant fuck-off fireballs into a crowded melee and just seeing who died (I didn't play that way when I invaded as a red, I was much more cautious and careful not to harm my fellow invaders; when I invaded as a Mound-Maker, all bets were off) and I loved that. That was a ton of fun. Even in Bloodborne, the most 'pvp-lite' (sort of; if you know where and how to invade Bloodborne was always thriving, and still thrives to this day) game, still had interesting pvp interactions where you could, say, choose to invade as a Vileblood, or a Hunter of Hunters, or invade with new, special abilities without any tie to a specific faction. A new pvp interaction is practically a must. 14:41 You want the thing that connects all the dots? Ratatoskr, it's easy. They gave us everything we needed to understand the entire point and theme of the game. It was easier with Souls, because fire is easy to grasp. A series of interlocking rings that form one large ring, a large ring that has been shattered, but not back into neat, interlocking pieces, but fragments that no longer fit well together, is _not_ easy to grasp, in more ways than one. That's why becoming Elden Lord isn't easy. Marika wanted one thing of her disciplines, and that's that they would struggle, and fight. The smith in the hold, was tasked with constructing a godslaying weapon. Marika was put in the position we find her in, because she was punished. If you know the occult, if you know Hermeticism, if you know what the erdtree (literally, _earth-tree_ , earth as in specifically 'dirt,') is in a Hermetic context, then you know why it _needs_ to burn, and if you know the truth of the old alchemical metaphor of transmuting lead into gold, _gold_ , then you know what it means to become Elden Lord, what it means to sit on the throne, and why the endings are all different, and why it is specifically a _rune_ that changes the nature of reality. You also know why Radagon and Marika are both separate and one being, and how Goldmask figured it out, and why that one prophet guy, I disremember his name at the moment, concluded Goldmask was insane when he looked into the same knowledge Goldmask did, rather than gaining Goldmask's powers of _insight_ . You're thinking on the basest of planes, Ratatoskr; what you need, are more _runes_ . Shun everything that is lowly, leaden, born from the dirt and the filth, seek the transmuting power of divinity that unites estranged opposites, ascend, become Elden Lord, and use your Great Rune, a cosmology-altering act of technical magic, return to the point of all causality, activate the Great Rune from that place of causality, which will, _as a cause itself_ , have an _effect_ on all of creation. Remember, the erdtree isn't the first time we've seen a holy place reject someone that would enter it, because in order to enter such a place, one must _be_ holy, i.e. divine, in the first place, and this holy place, is the place from which all creation and cosmology proceeds, the source out from which everything was born. There's a veil holding back the supplicant, a barrier that has to be broken, because divinity stopped willingly interfacing with the mundane. That means the mundane must penetrate in and reach up to the divine. This should be ringing bells for you about the 'Golden Order,' i.e., the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Miracles, excuse me, incantations, accomplished by both faith and intelligence, belief in divinity _and_ understanding? That's Hermetic practice, and everything they describe is Hermetic alchemical process. But even that is all just metaphor meant to get at the core theme indirectly, because as with any esoteric subject, you don't really get the value out of it when you approach it any other way, because half of the point is that transformative, _transmuting_ 'aha! moment' where you _get it_ , where everything clicks into place, i.e., becoming Elden Lord. Even the ultimate act of ceremonial magic is meant for personal, internal transformation, and the use of the Great Rune to not just repair, but _reshape_ the Elden Ring, the symbolic heart of one's own being and nature. This isn't about civilization, this isn't about anything external, this is about _you_ . This is about returning to the heart of the world and reshaping it into. . . whatever image you have in your own head for that world (represented by the Great Rune you selected to mend the Elden Ring), and all of the consequences that flow out from that reshaping. The erdtree, the capitol, those are all just fancy, beautiful metaphors to point at the inner reality of one's own heart. That requires a weapon capable of killing 'god,' because you must necessarily go through, in more ways than one, god, to reach the metaphorical inner sanctum, and the weapon is a representative manifestation of the will of the supplicant, the will to cut away everything that isn't perfect, until all that is left, is perfection. It's difficult to make all of this make sense to someone who isn't well-studied in this subject, but Miyazaki went with the 'go big or go home' approach to the themes and metaphors in this game, and he _clearly_ did not care that most people would be flummoxed by the esoteric nature of the ideas he was playing with, because it _does_ seem unhinged, to anyone who isn't studied or initiated into this collection of ideas or school of thought surrounding the methods and goals of Hermetic ceremonial practice. It's about going not from mortality to immortality, but from mortality to divinity, from lead to gold, the rune is the vision, the god-killing weapon is the will to realize that vision, and the ring is the heart that regulates all of creation, and the wielder of all three of those things, is the Elden Lord.
“I want weapons that are also catalysts” YES!!! One of the most disappointing things about ER was there was nothing like that in the game, nor was there a catalyst that could cast several types of magic. Which really sucks cause they’re so much stuff that scales with multiple different stats. One of my hopes is they bring back the sorcery casting twinblade from ds2
I think the mini dungeons should go and there just needs to be more enemy dense areas in the open world with those same rewards in them. I think those are what kills the replayability.
Mini dungeons give more opportunities for coop play, and thus invasions as well. Normal enemy dense area in the open world doesn't give such opportunities.
Personally I want more grotesque Bloodborne-ish type bosses. I love the art style of all From games, but The beast and horrific creatures of Bloodborne were far and beyond my favorite
While there are a lot of things i expect in terms of rewards ( catalyst weapons one of them ), what i absolutely dont want to see: Spirit summon rewards, well not as boss rewards for mini dungeons. You have got all these samey looking dungeons, same enemies( bloody imps ), regular enemies as bosses and your reward sometimes from the boss would be a spirit summon. Plenty people dont use them and after all we have more of those than actual ash of wars already, so we dont need anymore or at the very least not the main reward for the dungeon.
I hate souls pvp. Loathe it so much I literally play on offline for ds and bloodborne even to this day. Problem is I have a close friend that I clear the games with long after release and that forces us online and into pvp encounters for any game. I still avoid, I'm one of those annoying guys that will go through a boss wall, sorry. You'd think I'd be happy to hear they killed PVP for solo in Elden Ring, in fact it was the opposite. I hate that they added it as I always had the choice to play offline when solo or just go through the boss wall. It's something that the PVP community needs and I wish they brought back your fight club style invasions. It's not hard to avoid pvp, there is no reason to cater to non-pvpers.
I was too invested in the invasions clips, can u say that again to add to the catalyst weapon topic, i would love to see a catalyst / seal that can cast both spells and miracles, like the Talisman of Beasts. It could simply be weaker than most options for both if they find it too handy, but I just love having the option like that
I think at least one Arena should have a Respec station. You respec at the beginning, but when you leave you go back to what you were. Maybe even be able to pick a level. If that's too much to ask, at least let me be able to buy unlimited Larval tears and not have to reassign all of my attributes. Let me stop at the desired level. Give me unlimited larval tears and I'll be playing this game till the end of time.
If Elden Ring DLC follows the pattern of being better than the main game, I’m almost scared of how amazing it will be

Making that host attack Nepheli was so evil 😂😂😂
host was hiding in there in the first place and could have backed out of the room entirely
Making? The host almost dropped a full dual katana combo within her range. The result? Nepheli the twink and her demolishing thunderstorm activated lmao
Used to be a lot worse back in Demon's Souls and the first Dark Souls, people always tricked new players into hitting important npcs
Lol that host had been waiting for any reason to attack her
To be honest Elden Ring was so good I forgot it didn't include the usual DLC.
What I'd like to see are ashes of war for crossbows and catalysts.
That's a great idea.
What are you saying, crossbows have an aow, it's called kick, it's so op
The Carian Royal Scepter has a unique version of weapon spin but thats about it
I still want to see an ash of war that let's you cast whatever spell you have selected from your weapon. From the description of the Carian longsword, I thought we'd get something like that, and I was super disappointed it just had Carian Grandeur instead.
Edit: oops, apparently Ratotoskr went over this exactly. That's what I get for commenting before finishing the video.

Me personally would really like a Kusarigama type weapon (scythe on a long chain with a metal weight at the other end). I'm currently playing Nioh 2 while waiting for ER DLC and I'm loving the weapons.

Martial arts would be sick
I think a good contender for a new weapon type would be ringblades. There's a few varieties already in the game wielded by enemies. The crystal ringblade, the beastman ringblade, those are what I'm talking about. A weapon you can throw and melee with
People will start cosplaying as Xena then.
boomerang style.. would be neat
I wanted an infinite consumable version of those beastman shuriken
There's also chain weapon like Kusarigama that vulgar militia use. And chain hammer and axe that gladiator use. Although we do have the unchain version for gladiator weapon.
I loved covenants, they would fit well in elden ring imo
-Fias Champions
-Golden Order Fundamentalists
-Dragon Communion
-Recusants
-Blood Phantoms
-Maybe a not or academy faction
Godricks Tarnished Hunters as well
I was just playing ds3 last night and it finally dawned on me that's what ER's base-game is missing, imo. Probably unnecessary for the game's integrity, but still a missed function!
Calling back to the souls games themes of time traveling, being able to travel into the past or even future and experience the important events and bosses/characters in their prime would be pretty cool
Caelid, pre-space-cancer-hiv-herpes.
Thanks for the suggestion, going to listen to his takes now
Agreed
I checked out and binged the content. It’s remarkable how much context utilizing archeology, dendrology, botany, history, mythology and religion brings to Elden Ring’s narratives. Thank you for the suggestion and I hope Ratotaskr ends up finding this comment, TA is one I’d consider highly underrated.

Tarnished Archeologist is great!

Absolutely agreed! Stormveil somewhat reminded me of the ds1 firelink layout, but more ds3-ish. I'd love a dlc for ER built around the ds1 map design.
As annoying death blight and frenzy is we need more kinds of legendary weapons with that because of how unique it is for a weapon
Deathbed Smalls in DLC please.
I wish for
- more varied mini dungeons
- more dynamic content for over world, like roaming enemies. At least for NG+.
- visually better dodge than roll
- more areas
- better blocking with weapons
And let us take our great runes into NG+ please, for the love of god, its new game + who tf gives a crap about continuity, you can literally summon a nepheli puppet while you're fighting with nepheli for double nepheli action.
red eyed type enemies would be neat, with advanced moveset and more aggressiveness
So a rogue like
Maybe they could flavor it as the dreams of a demigod. Like Godwyn or maybe Miquella.
Elden Ring lore reflects one's own depth of erudition.
That means the developers are way out there and done their homework many, many times over.
this sounds like the cope of a man who realized they wasted their time trying to figure out the lore.
@@fulltimeslackerii8229 Why are you even here ? This game is not for you.
Outher Outhim I'm fine either way.

Like Ludwig phase transition
Really looking forward to that.
ER interest cropped up again so it might be after the game awards.
Tarnished Archeologist is doing the lords work unpacking the themes of Elden Ring. If you haven't yet, you should check out his channel.
horse armor, I hope 🙃
also at 9:36, all fist category weapons are paired!
they should making a really big maze dungeon castle that have random generate room and enemies and you can summon up to 6 other phantom and all phantom can still summon spirit, there are no refill flask either.
Sounds absolutely fucking terrible being able to use spirits
@@shinren_ spirits cost resource and for an infinity maze with no refill flask that would be high cost.
@@AgentYellowWang how about that DS3 estus soup being placed randomly..."I need some souuup!!!"
I really don't like the mini dungeons/catacombs. But I do think visual changes would help a lot.
Love me some LoZ TP OS background tunes 🤘 bobbing my head to Gerudo Desert the whole times it’s playing
I do hope they make some crazy gamemodes and bring back 6 playerlimit so we can have crazy 3v3s and 6 man brawls in the arenas
Invadable chalice dungeons in elden ring would be awesome.
I've never laughed so hard at a thumbnail before in my life lol. Glad to see my boy Tyrone Biggums.
I paused the Video when u start mentionning pvp just to state my most deepest wanted idea for Any souls/elden/sekiro. A boss battle Arena where you can fight 1 2 3 or even 4 bosses/enemies at once
My only wish for DLC is Bone fist (please more love for fist weapon) and Ash of war as casting will sound experimental especially for PvP
99% of them look and feel the same. and thats a problem when there are that many of them
There is someone (a random) spitballing about sekiro 2 too, something I have little (okay actually zero) hope for, but the imagination makes my mouth water.
You should check out a youtuber named queelag. She makes pretty amazing lore videos tying real world religions to the game
100% agree about the catalyst weapon I really want something similar to the demon scar
There a good chance a new weapon type is the spell book. Just imagine how hard it hits you if the opponent has high int or faith lmao. And it can cast spell too
I want those vulgar militia Kusarigamas and a tropical/jungle area would be really cool
The Tin Banishment Catalyst in DS1 has a decent-ish R2 attack, and the item description suggests it doubles as a weapon, but I wouldn't suggest using it past mid-game.
To be fair, DS1 wouldn't let you upgrade your catalysts but Elden Ring does
Literally I'm the thumbnail 🤣👌 elden ring the best game of all time in my opinion.
I want 2 things most
1 int faith weapon
2 a twinblade with unique moveset and strike dmg
Yes i want a quarterstaff
Whatever region they add to the game, it will be inssanely difficult to top Liurnia, the current best region.
In your opinion, lol. Liurnia is cool, but I feel like the giant swamp that makes up 60% of it is too empty.
Love me some ER, but DS1 always pulls me back. There's nothing like that map design.
Least attentive FromSoft lore enjoyer:
“I want weapons that are also catalysts”
YES!!! One of the most disappointing things about ER was there was nothing like that in the game, nor was there a catalyst that could cast several types of magic. Which really sucks cause they’re so much stuff that scales with multiple different stats.
One of my hopes is they bring back the sorcery casting twinblade from ds2
The new weapon type could be the Kusarigama that the Vulgar Malitia use.
Great Fists would be smashing to see.
i hope they add something like champions covenants making game harder adding scarier enemies at night and field boss appearing out of nowhere c:
I think the mini dungeons should go and there just needs to be more enemy dense areas in the open world with those same rewards in them. I think those are what kills the replayability.
Mini dungeons give more opportunities for coop play, and thus invasions as well. Normal enemy dense area in the open world doesn't give such opportunities.
Personally I want more grotesque Bloodborne-ish type bosses. I love the art style of all From games, but The beast and horrific creatures of Bloodborne were far and beyond my favorite
I'm personally hoping they add the Valorheart sword + shield combo weapon. While they're at it, give back my Farron Greatsword as well!
Closet thing to a fight club is you and buddy chill somewhere, and use the taunters tounge
It's not hard to avoid pvp, there is no reason to cater to non-pvpers.
i agree with everything you said here specifically the player limit and covenants. please fromsoft i need my radahn covenant
OMG I was just watching Daves specials on Netflix haha
I was too invested in the invasions clips, can u say that again
to add to the catalyst weapon topic, i would love to see a catalyst / seal that can cast both spells and miracles, like the Talisman of Beasts. It could simply be weaker than most options for both if they find it too handy, but I just love having the option like that
Like a few chimes from DS3
This is what Gideon's Scepter should've been instead of a club
I think at least one Arena should have a Respec station. You respec at the beginning, but when you leave you go back to what you were. Maybe even be able to pick a level. If that's too much to ask, at least let me be able to buy unlimited Larval tears and not have to reassign all of my attributes. Let me stop at the desired level. Give me unlimited larval tears and I'll be playing this game till the end of time.
