All OBS trucks are GMT400 except for the 3500HD...GMT430 is the Yukon. The Vortec heads are the best factory production heads for SBC and even out perform some bowties so they are a good place to start a cheap junkyard 383 build.
A little tip for you Travis in Australia our non supercharged v6 is called a L36 and our supercharged is L67 they are slightly different the l67 has injectors in the heads and L36 are in the manifold i currantly own a L36 a l67 and a LS2
Another option for the rear disc brake =99 and newer Blazers. Easier to incorporate parking brakes, only 1/2" difference. The LS4 has that bolt pattern but starter is incorporated into the transmission.
The Salvage Yard videos are great! Can't wait for more of them. I'm a 4th Gen guy too, I have a 97 Firebird that I'm working on. Mine is the 3800 series 2, so I would love to see you do an M90 build. But after watching this video, can I use those injectors you pulled on the 3800 for better performance. Or do they only work for the LS or the LT1, so I know to keep an eye out for that style Impala in my local yards. Keep up the great content 👍

Mary Kay only does Cadillac though? My neighbor has been selling it for years and currently has a nice CTS that appears to be that same color

We use those same RPO codes for series 2 here in the US as well, which I guess is the only version ever sold in Oz

Injectors don’t add horsepower themselves. It’s just when your motor needs more fuel. I need these 36lb for the 570hp red 6.0.

The flex fuel trucks have 53 pound injectors, I ordered them new on rock auto for $29 each
The L59 has 33lb. It also doesn’t have the Ev1 injector plug and are also shorter.

Can you use the rear housing off the 700r4 on a 4L60e to use a standard speedo?
Not sure off the top of my head, I always adapt the factory VSS to a digital speedometer
No 700-R4 has a 4 bolt flange, only 93/94 , 95, some 96 4L60E's
