    Eric Babolat CEO : "50% of the performance of a racquet is the string and 50% is the frame". Sadly, 99% of players don't know that.

    the pure aero or aero pro drive is a legendary racquet because it literally changed the game. Although I use a Yonex Vcore, the vcore was also presumably influenced by pure aero's aerodynamic frame, as are many other racquets that are “spin oriented”

    Will always be a huge babolat fan even though I’ve recently switched to Wilson, their rackets are the best for beginners and intermediate players and are always extremely reliable and durable. Have owned an Aeropro drive for 12 years, still plays like a dream.

    Chris, Is that a Estusa Pro Vantec Power Beam carbon graphite racquet pictured with you?
    Chris, What is the head size of that Estusa Vantec PB?
    You mentioned Borg's high tension for his vs gut. What tension did he string his racquet?

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  2 роки тому +1

      It is the Power Beam Pro, the heaviest of the Power Beams and has a very low RA (stiffness). I cannot remember the exact tension Borg used, but it was high (kevlar/natural gut hybrid) and the frames were breaking all of the time due to the stress -- I would not recommend trying it since these are hard to find racquets these days! Cheers, Chris, TW

    I guess babolat forgot who put them on the map with their racquets. I seem to remeber that Andy Roddick made babolat racquets popular that's why he was the only person to get a signature racquet, but once he retired they couldn't take his name off the racquet any quicker.

  • @toeybagumbun6948

    What a shame they didn't mention andy roddick in the story. Andy was one of the first if not the first one to have his name on the babolat rackets. Pure drive roddick. He was the frontrunner of pure drive for so many years.

      At the time of the introduction of the Pure Drive, there were already "power" racquets and "control" racquets. Yet, the Pure Drive managed to capture the public's attention as tweener sized user friendly power racquet with a large sweet spot which related to C. Moya and Raffa Nadal.
      Ball impact and foot work are keys to the game one key babolot high ranking guy relates to us. And, interestingly enough another high end Babolot manager says, strings are 50% of the performance of a racquet. So, essentially, the Babolot racquet is a minority factor in performance if you keenly discern what these Babolot folks are telling the public. 🧐😯🤦👍 👌 💔❤️‍🩹🤜🤛💯
      Very enlightening content for many people!

    • @bowsershark
      @bowsershark 2 роки тому +1

      @@PPoyares
      One can argue, Nadal is the epitome of racquet technology and string technology rolled into one. Yes, it is highly doubtful that Nadal could achieve the same results with a 85 or 90 sq inch stick. The much smaller head size and comparative tiny sweet spot and much more closed string pattern would be a nightmare for Nadal.
      It would be interesting if there were leagues based one head size and string patterns. That would be incredibly interesting 🤔. There would be racquet head size and string pattern specialists. Crazy thought huh!
