Sent it back to Yonex for a “quality check” and they came back saying that they couldn’t see any defects with the racket and blamed it on me simply because the racket had a few scratches at the top part of racket head. Never going back to Yonex again.
Playing on a beat up court in the Midwest of America I don't always think about where my Yonex came from. It's nice to know it was made with pride and great craftsmanship in Japan.
For over 22 year's I've played with Yonex racquets and I just want to say thank you to the company and it's employees. They have the very best quality control out of racquet maker's and take pride in what they do. I love you Yonex! ❤️

Dude I stumbled across a vcore 95 in my friends closet (he has tons of rackets) I had the weird feeling to play with it and it was game changing. Now im doing more research on the rackets and I find this video and now it’s all starting to make sense. Do yourself a favor and grab a yonex
The craftsmanship, the quality, the care. This is why I love Yonex. I'm a self confessed racketaholic with over 60 frames, and I will continue to buy other manufacturers frames. But my 'go to' will be my DR98, and continue to be until Yonex come up with something better.
Switched from long time user of Prince to Yonex Ezone 100 2022 6 months ago. Really enjoy the power and vibration dampener effect from the rackets. I’m 69, played tennis since I was a boy, still play strong 4.5 doubles against players sometimes 1/2 my age, and I feel the Yonex Ezone is the best racket I’ve ever used. I do place lead tape at 12, 3, and 9 positions for plow through and improved spin on serve, and used Prince Duratred grip overwrap. Quality of my Yonex rackets is exceptional, all weigh and feel identical. Great job on their part!

All the things in this video were wonderful and I am very happy that you show a brand that values quality and consistency, more than a lower production cost. I love YONEX. The quality and feel of Yonex racquets are outstanding and no other brand can compete with this high standards. Many other racquets from other brands feels very stiff and harsh on the arm during play, the YONEX racquet are the most comfortable and soft racquets I ever played with (beside my old Dunlop racquets from the 80's). I like the low stiffness in the racquets and the touch / feel U get out of these racquets, really outstanding. I hope YONEX stays true to there standards and image.
Great video. Bought my wife a Ezone 98 (previously, she played with Wilson). Later, bought myself a Regna 98 (previously played with Diadem). No going back for either of us. PS... Living in Japan, I made a trip to Niigata a few years ago, but wasn't playing tennis then. Now I have even more reason to go back...
Yonex for life! I love Japanese brands like Mazda, Citizen, Seiko, Sony. Yonex is no different, Japanese craftsmanship at its best. I used to throw my Head and Wilson rackets a lot when I was younger but stopped when I switched to Yonex. Now I’m glad I showed them the same love the manufacturers did.
Yonex: They ask for a 300g racquet and we give them a 300g racquet. Babolat: "This pure drive weighs 287g and this one weighs 311g, should we send them as a pair to the customer?" "yes, of course"
@@michaelp9061 Head is wayy worse with quality control. But one time I switched back to the blade 98 and I know for a fact that they added way too much weight in the head of the racquet. At first I thought it was me but then when I sold it, the guy who bought it said the same exact thing.

I was pretty much a Wilson racquet fan most of my tennis life, but recently I've been slowing switching to Yonex. I have a vcore 97 pro 330, great racquet, just order a vcore 97 HD also hear alot of good reviews on it..
started with a local brand (wood), moved to a metal Dunlop then onto a graphite/carbon Wilson Hammer 6.1 Later, tried some RFA97, but it was too stiff for me. Discovered DR98 and bought 5 at once. Sadly, can't find any new DR to buy
This is precisely why I am playing with Yonex tennis rackets and strings however can you please bring back the Ezone DR 98 formula, the weight and balance of the older generation was perfect.
Excellent video. Goes to the Heart of the Yonex philosophy of Pride in manufacturing. BUT their R&D is another matter. We have seen them veer towards making their racquets more rounded and making their racquets stiffer and stiffer ... So even though their manufacturing is second to none, their R&D is far less disciplined and almost bipolar. That's where their Achilles Heel has been for decades and continues to be, at least in Tennis. The Ezone line is a great example. The first three generations (Xi, Ai and DR ... I believe Kyrgios still plays with Xi) were great and and then they fell off a cliff. Same with the RD series from the 90s.
I agree with you I am still playing with my old DR 98's the new Ezone versions simply is just not the same after testing all the new models I still do not want to switch. Making sure you are at the forefront of development and technology is all good but getting to a point where the new model is worse than your previous model means you are missing the point.
The rackets are a lot more rounded. Look at the new Regna 98. The only 'straight' edges are the tip and the throat area (where the mains start and end) the sides are very curved.

Japan is known for putting out high quality products in many different industries. Yonex is no exception. I don't see the sense in paying $200+ for Chinese made Wilsons, Babolat, ect. with inconsistent QC and specs meanwhile I can get a Yonex from Japan and know that I can buy multiple of the same racket online and they will most likely match up well.
Such a shame that the BGM gets no mention in the UA-cam credits of this video... Want to know who score it... Scintillating score to say the least.... Just elevated the story to another level!

I have owned many Babolat, Wilson and Head racquets but never a Yonex. I think it is time for a switch.
You can never go wrong with a Japanese product. The amount of pride they put in their products is excessive.

Exactly, Babolat and Wilson are notoriously known to be way off the published specs. Could never really understand why.
