      Thanks but what I didn't realise it that people need to make sure they don't overdo it! I did too much and despite eating well I basically starved my body as I was in too big of a calorie deficit for too long and it's fucked up my metabolism, so now I'm having to take it easy and eater super well but I'm gaining a little, but that soon goes once body stabilises.

    Thank you for sharing your experience with the world. It's very inspiring to see that you have come a long way. You are positive and encouraging others. Thank you so much for this video. I started on my home bike 5 days a week and have already started seeing the difference. Being a single mum of a 4 Yr old girl and being in a toxic and abusive relationship has taken the toll on me, my life to the point that I could not recognise myself. I had given up on myself trying to please my ex, who was cheating after our baby was born. 4 years of misery, abuse and toxicity but now I am healing and I must say that I am happier being a single mum, living a simple life and appreciating the smallest things in life. I am not living for others but myself. I started to build my self confidence, self esteem and self love. My relationship was that bad to the point that my ex told me to disappear and die as he could not handle the family after our little one was born. He said he did not sign up for our baby, he could not listen to her cries or would not even change her nappy. I guess not everyone is born to be a great daddy. Now after cheating with over 10 women, he got himself a new girlfriend who has 2 kids from a previous relationship and now he is saying that they are his kids. Just to not feel guilty that he abandoned his own child to be father of kids who are not his. Sorry to share all this but I am in a better place now.

    I’ve cut 90% of sugar out of my diet but I never thought about the salt and oils. At my highest I was 280 pounds I’m now 162 pounds. I used a mountain bike and I fell in love with it. It goes from misery to fun in no time and then the weight just falls off. Good on ya for being a badass.

    • @CyclingSlim
      @CyclingSlim  6 років тому +1

      Salt doesn't make you fat, but it can make you gain water weight and make your body more incline to hold onto fat as the body actually stores water in the fat cells, so if you need to store alot of water, your body might be inclined to hold onto the fat. but if you sweat alot and are reasonably active, salt isn't something you should worry about too much! Oil however will rise your blood sugar and cause you to store fat. Whole fats such as nuts and seeds are a much better way of getting fat in your diet though and don't store fat. In fact nut consumption has been shown to have the opposite effect. Refined sugar is good to cut, but don't cut natural sugars such as fruit and starches as you'll need those carbohydrates for glycogen which will be used when doing cardio.

      You should need a bike and a bike helmet (i dont know what its called) and thats all.
      if you bike at night then you should get enough lights or lights thats bright enough for your bike to light up your way.
      another tip you should probably get protectors for your knee or elbow and all, thats all i want to say. Safety first 👍

    So I’m a 305lb dude starting cycling and I have a question for you. When you started your stomach was in the way too? Should I worry about keeping my knees in and lifting them into my stomach? Cause I keep getting these terrible abdominal pains unless I keep my knees out. I guess I’m asking if I should worry about form or just do whatever means I can do as much as possible?

    • @wilw900
      @wilw900 6 років тому +2

      It sounds like you would benefit by having a more upright seating position. The bike shop can make a few inches of tweaks (minimally invasive) by replacing the stem and the seat post, or handlebar style. If you have a newer bike, you can also move the spacers to the stem stack to raise the bars. If none of that works, a commuter style frame may be in order.
      While the topic is here, be sure that you're actually fit to the bike. For 20+ years, I was riding 21 or 22 inch mountain bike frames, and now that I'm over 330lbs, it really exacerbated how poor my bike fit was. After a recent fitting, it turns out that I needed a smaller 19 or 20 inch frame to make things work for me.

    • @CyclingSlim
      @CyclingSlim  6 років тому +1

      Tbh, my fat was more evenly distributed, so I didn't just have the "pot belly" like alot of men. I didn't notice my belly getting in the way tbh. That sounds like cramping to me, I would look at your saddle position and consider altering it to suit, also look at the position of your handlebars. Are you on a road bike that is very far forward? If so I would consider a MTB as that will be more upright.

    • @ionraice
      @ionraice 6 років тому

      Cycling Slimmer I have a road bike. I’m making it work with some pedal extenders and my saddle position is higher now which helps. I am familiar with cramps this is different. Sharper, can continue for hours afterward. I suppose I should talk to my doctor about it.

      Make sure you're fitted to the bike. Some shops will do this for free. It is extremely important to avoid injury. Once you're fitted just stay consistent. Try fasted rides x3 per week in the morning. BTW, I cycle and crush (Strava) the younger guys in the area. I also game. All things in balance and moderation. • @CyclingSlim
      @CyclingSlim  3 роки тому

      @@kimlarden486 Don't fast, I recommend 3+ meals a day.
      I'd go by feel, so start with 30 minutes 4-5 times a week and see how feel. If too much you can dial it back to 15-20 mins or if good keep doing for a week or two and then maybe bump up to 40 mins a day. Always be sure to take at least 1-2 full rest days where you relax and don't get the heart rate up too high. And if fat lose is your goal, don't get too out of breath cycling. If you have a heart rate strap that's great, try to aim for zone 2 which you can calculate by doing 1 25 minute FTHR test which info can be found on Google for. If not just aim to point where u can breath ok and could have a convo, any more than that and there's a good chance u could be burning mostly glycogen. But tbh the most important aspect is diet. So focus on wholefoods plant based, aim for high nutrient foods and for dinner definitely eat the salad first before filling up on caloric dense starches etc. Limit or cut out refined sugar and salts and oils as these foods can really cause u to overeat as they Blunt the bodies natural senses and such. If you need more help I have a book too, (link in description) hope this helps. Congratulations on your weight loss, but there's 1 thing I've noticed about you. You use filler words ALL THE TIME!!! Words like, "Um" "Err" "Like" etc. Got to work on that mate.

    Nice work. But why do you have to shame “gamers”... you were just obese....

      Theres nothing wrong with having the occasional game an hour or 2 a day, but playing on games for hours at a time, thats no way to live and you WON'T achieve your goals that way! Life is a game. For sure it's fun to have a blast on Mario kart with friends during bad weather etc!

      I ride my bike when it's nice out. I play my games, when it's miserable outside. People shouldn't blame being a slob on video games. Slobs have been around a lot longer.

      Been playing games since atari , i now lost interest in gaming and follow the footsteps of this channel owner.I think its worth it,better than gym anyways.He is right, we are the gamers of our world,why do we need to play as other characters.I just realised that all this time,ive been sitting infront of an lcd monitor looking at moving pixels while not receiving any physical benefits from these actions.

      How "dis racist"? Being white seems to be racist in 2021 and seems to trigger liberals 🙄.
