“This is shit they don’t show you” I’m laughing like a maniac sitting on the garage floor taking a break from trying to slip the f#€king charge pipe on my intercooler.
that's interesting that the crash bar has that black plastic piece?? my 2019 S4 doesn't have that. would like the RS Grill, but that would work out nicely as i wouldn't need to paint my crash bar. Any idea if that was factory, or aftermarket? thanks.
I got an estimate from my local shop to install an intercooler on my b9. Over $800. I was like, are you kidding me!? Then I watched this video…. Okay I get it.
@@boostdynamictuning I think what helps the most is having the right tools for the job. Like most people don’t have a lift or jacks to help out. You have a plethora of tools and space available and it still looked like a pain in the ass haha
Thanks… I have a 22 S5 sportback… I noticed on the install on the blue b9.5 A4 you didn’t remove completely everything from the front end. Did you remove yours just to paint the crash bar? I guess what I’m asking is did you remove more than actually needed to install the intercooler?
@E Karovic correct, I painted the space bar. Which I regret now, as there's a better option. I'll be doing an install on the next best solution here shortly
bro, I can't find a video anywhere on how to put the a4 a5 s4 s5 generation in front end service mode🤷♂️ could you make a quick video on that? I'd really appreciate it.
If I didn't run into a couple issues I would say 1.5-3 hours. Waiting for the paint to dry on the crash bar probably took the longest. I would paint it right after taking it off. Then mount the fmic.
I guess I am struggling to understand why all the extra stuff has to come off, it just seems like the plastic pieces on each side that guide the air is the only thing getting in the way. Hypothetically, could you not swap the ICs without taking everything off?
Have you installed one of these intercooler? Did one last week with the clamp off. Still took a massive amount of force to slip on. Definitely spraying it first helped a lot.
I love it because he's a perfect gentlemen right up until 10:54 when the FMIC hose set him off then he's like a new man.
Lol, showing the real struggle.
I laughed so hard because I've been there in my life. Car repairs and golf.
Is the restricted airflow to the radiator not an issue?
These are the videos that make me want to drive to people instead of using local installers lol
Thank you for the support. I couldn't agree more

Dang that stock intercooler is tiny compared to the aftermarket one

wrap it in black vinyl
It was a little piece of black foam. Yes, it did come from the factory.
I like your videos bro. Can I ask why you didn’t upgrade the charge pipes while changing out the intercooler though?
I'll do being things one at a time, to show dyno graphs of each upgrade. Just for documentation purposes.
Great vid. Thanks!
Working on our cars with hot GF/wife, I can relate, nice to see men in the US still exist.
Amen to that. Wife's of 5 years :)
What’s the radiator at the driver side wheel for? Is that aftermarket? My S5 doesn’t have that.
what CF front lip is that?
@@josephchin3815 sadly I forgot. It's been so long. I'll see if i can find it
Hi, did you get audi -pre sense warning after removing front bumper? Mine has an issue now.
Something not correctly done
If done like k did it no faults will occur

Lol that's not horrible, it's not a bad job. Just takes time is all. Glad I could shed light on what the job entails.

@@Lsthnbrd well said, tools are everything when it comes to this job.
My order from CTS will be here on Thursday. Did those 12 washers come with the intercooler or no? If not, what size should I grab?
They came with them

Does your intercooler sit a little to the left also ?
I felt it lined up pretty well, if you're looking at it with the front bumper on.
@@boostdynamictuning so yours it centered ?
@@Soflosprings I'll double check, but yes
@@Soflosprings Just installed mine last night on my 22 S5. It does in fact sit to the left more.

what do you have done to it? power mods?
All stock atm. In documentation phase at the moment.

does the crash bar NEED to come off for the installation or is there a work around
You don't have to remove crash bar. I only did to paint it.
