Hi, I would appreciate if there was more explanation in the video. If a lithops roots are dried up like these, do you HAVE to cut them off in order to encourage new root growth? Or is it possible for them to grow new roots despite the old roots remaining? With other succulents this would be the case, if they don’t have healthy roots, they will push out new healthy roots without intervention. Are lithops different? I assumed they would do the same and have left mine as is while I wait.
Like other plants, I don't think you have to cut off the roots to get a new root. 🙄Plant roots act as tubes to absorb moisture and nutrients. If plants can get a new root, getting a new root means getting a tube that is more effective. In the case of large leaves, if you remove the root like this, the leaves will wither a lot. However, I think that the advantage of receiving new roots is that lithops or conophytums is bigger because it does not strain the body even if you remove a lot of roots and receive them again. There is also the convenience of transplantation. I think it is my opinion and option. 🤭🤭 thank you for watching 🙏🙏🙏
Watering frequency depends on the environment, and I used a custom soil mix that I created. I have a video on how to make this soil mix, so please refer to that. Additionally, I will strive to include subtitles in my future videos whenever possible.
I kept them in a well-ventilated, shaded area for a week after trimming the roots to allow any potential wounds to heal. Please refer to this video as well; it follows the same principle: UA-cam Video.
So, I have two plants that were ripped out of the pot by a kid at work. After lots of care, they both FINALLY have one long white root each. I'm kind of freaking out about what to do next?
Im’sorry to hear that… 🥲 if the growth point is removed, the lithops will die. But even if the growth point seems to have run out, there are still some growth points left …Dry it for about a week and plant it.
i can understand why you’re saying so, but if we leave this as it is, it’ll die. The roots are too old to function properly. So if we make new roots, they won’t die. 🙄 that’s the reason.
The clue that I'm judging is that their windows are not clear and their growth is not active. I don't think the roots are properly absorbed because of aging.
Thanks for letting us know that it is possible for lithops to grow new roots! ❤
Thank you for watching.

I would like to know this too.

What’s your mix and how often do you water? Some explanation would be nice

You watered them right after you’ve trimmed their roots?

Do you let the roots callous/dry first or do you repot right away? Did you let them dry for a few days then repot and water in the sand day?
That's right. When I cut the roots, I dry them for a week and then water them. Thank u for watching🥰

Good job! Plant the new roots in clean soil as much as possible and water them? 🧐

when to take off the water?
If you can see the soil starts to get wet, take off the water. 😆
뿌리를 자르고 바로 물을 줘도 되는건가요?? 안되는줄 알았어요~
일주일 말린 후에 물을 주었습니다 감염우려가 있어서 말린 후에 물 주는게 안전합니다 ^^
when you say water, do you mean after planting in dirt or just watering the lithop itself?
I accidentally broke the root when I removed the old leaves, but it has a small tip. I won't water it until it shrivels, I hope roots grow soon.
I’m sorry to hear that. 🥲
If its growth point is attached, it will have roots again… Don't worry too much!
wait for what to shrivel? Sooo many questions!
En qué época del año recomienda el trasplante?

Such a large group of plants. Why cut it. More than 10 years to 2 years?
